The property itself was absolutely amazing. Literally the only downside of the location itself was the matresses made our backs hurt by night 3 of 4 so sleeping that last day was pretty rough. Otherwise absolutely amazing! They had a fun scavenger hunt for our son when we got there he loved looking for all the small things. The view and hotub waa great waking up and right bwfore we went to bed. No service whatsoever at cabin whicb was exactly what we wanted a way away from technology for a while. Hosts were amazing and let us check in a few hours early when we got there earlier than expected. Will for sure be coming back. And i absolutwly recommend a gps to get around area cell phone service not good even for the poor gps so we did a lot of winging it haha. Loved ir rhough absolutely no complaints.

Back in the woods, off the beaten. Private

Lets start at the beginning...The road to the cabin is steep and rough. DO NOT drive a low profile car you will bottom out. The cabin itself is cozy...little less then 800 square feet. There is no actual view of the lake but the view is still noce and peaceful. The hot tub is clean. The trail to the lake is steep but well maintained and about 50 yards to a tiny dock with a pretty view. Our only complaint is that the beds are not comfortable.and if you are older the ladder to the loft bedroom sucks. With that said we would still recommend the cabin and still give it an overall high score...oh and cell services are absent in the best way.

It was a little rough getting up the hill in my car but it was definitely worth the quick scare. This is an amazing property. The house was clean, had all the supplies we needed to cook dinner, the hot tub was clean and it was so much fun swimming in the lake. It was a nice couple of days to unplug and unwind from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Will absolutely stay here again, thank you so much!

Even though you're in a neighborhood, with all the trees, you feel remote. The hot tub was a pure delight at the end of each day of hiking. Not having cell or Internet service is pretty standard in the Hocking hills area and honestly is a big appeal to disconnect from real life and connect with who you came there with. You have to be able to handle stairs and ladders, so it wouldn't be suitable for someone with mobility concerns. It has a lot of personality and was exactly what we were looking for.

We wanted a quiet trip away, and that's exactly what we got!

This property was very nice. It was a little smaller than it seemed in the pictures. The hot tub could of been cleaned prior to our visit it sweemed like the water needed changed.

Too cold, fire place went out and was not able to get ahold of the owner. First cabin I have every stayed at that had absolutely no wifi….place is a lot smaller than the pictures

Very beautiful cabin, large windows with nice views, everything in the cabin worked well, large DVD collection, loved the hot tub, and the firewood was a nice touch! Agree that having a truck was helpful as the road to the cabin was pretty steep and bumpy. Highly recommend!

We stayed many times in Hocking Hills area. This was the worst place of all. Run down, not clean and had a smell of mold. Very upset about the pictures and the difference in what it really looks like. Will never stay here again. The only good thing was hot tub.We had to sweep all the leaves off deck just to see where you were walking.I think we deserve a refund!!!!

We loved the privacy communication was never a problem with the owners. I literally have no complaints thanks so much. We also GOT ENGAGED AT THE CAVES/ waterfallls and got to celebrate all weekend it was deff a trip to remember always.

The property was cozily located in the woods. We had a short walk down a hill to a pretty lake. The property has its own small deck with a cute, comfortable bench that sits 3. There was also a canoe for our use. Nice, small cabin. It worked well for us.

The cabin was perfect for us! We brought our small kayaks had no trouble walking them down the trail to the lake. The Jacuzzi was immaculate and much appreciated after a day of rugged hiking. Being off the grid was pretty wonderful, and having a landline for emergencies made us feel secure. Beautiful scenery to view first thing in the morning and fun to see the deer cross in front of the property. Thank you for such a beautiful space to stay!

If you want to totally unplug and relax this place will not disappoint. We enjoyed our stay and trips to various Hocking Hills parks. The cabin is stocked with everything you need. The hot tub overlooks the trees (we stayed late in the season so the view of the lake was obstructed by foliage as expected) and is a great spot to wind down. The cabin was clean and quiet. We fished and my kids enjoyed the swimming area a short drive away. There at lots of DVDs and games!
Some things to know if you are considering renting. These are not negatives just info that may be useful.
- the location may not be ideal for those with physical limitations. The upper room is accessible by ladder that is fairly steep. The walk to the dock on the lake is pretty steep as well. The tub wall is pretty high too.
- we definitely appreciated our 4 wheel drive to get to the cabin. The roads are steep and unpaved.
-the listing is accurate in saying service and wifi is very limited in the area. You will want to prepare in advance with directions to the locations you want to visit.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

Property was gorgeous but the lock systems was troublesome and the lack of access to any communication was dangerous.

Beautiful little cabin in the woods. All amenities were great. Including kitchenware, bath towels/wash cloths, propane grill and hot tub. Yes, the road leading up has some rough terrain but you're in the middle of the woods. Main hiking area in Hocking Hills about 20-30 away. For the most part there's no cell service, so planning ahead is recommended. Couldn't have found a better spot to celebrate our anniversary together!

The private lake, the hot tub, and the secluded location were amazing! Providing a canoe made it all that much better! We were reasonably close to all of the best hikes, which was important to us. The chance to disconnect from cell and wifi was great!
The interior is extremely dated, but the giant window wall made it easier to move past that. The asbestos wall and ceiling tiles had us a bit uncomfortable when we arrived. We were able to set aside our concerns for the stay, but remedying that would be a huge suggestion for the owners.

The road to the cabin needs to be fixed!!! Was to long of a walk to the lake on the online pictures the lake looked closer to the cabin. You need to repair the balcony and change the stairs to balcony the are too steep. We were not able to use the grill because it was left filthy. The inside of the cabin needed to be cleaned better. There were a lot of cobwebs and the floor was dirty. There were dirty dishes in the cabinets. The stairs to the upstairs need a hand rail because they are too steep. Also need a rail around the top of the stairs. NEED TO REDO THE DECK AND STAIRS OFF THE DECK THEY SHOULD NOT BE PAINTED. THE RAILING WAS LOSE. NEED TO PAINT WITH SLICK RESISTANT PAINT. The first day of my stay there I fell down from the top stair step to the bottom. I had to go to the ER. There should be better steps leading to the cabin. I have stayed at cabins in the woods before and they were maintained better.

So nice to disconnect from social media and reconnect with old friends. Lovely location, clean and well maintained. +Baby bird eggs in a nest on part of the a-frame. +Everything we needed except groceries. +Scavenger Hunt in cabin - very sweet. Very responsive owners - thank you Dustin and partner.

The grill should be replaced since igniter does not work and is very old. We could not get fireplace to work and heater was missing the knob to turn heat on/off. We enjoyed the hottub. It was clean. We enjoyed the deck and outside eating.

A beautiful and peaceful place to completely disconnect! We stayed for two nights and particularly enjoyed the campfire set-up and the jacuzzi (it felt great after long days hiking in the park!) The cabin was clean and left nothing to be desired. The lake was a bit buggy and didn't really appeal to us for swimming while we were there, but there is a neighborhood "beach" area so I'm sure people do use it and swim. The location is great, an easy drive to the Hocking Hills trails and within 15-30 minutes of a couple general stores/groceries (just make sure to write down the directions ahead of time-we had no cell service anywhere within ~10 minute drive of the cabin)
