You don’t need to know anything about boats or boating since Mathieu is an amazing host and avid sailor, boater, and host. This is my second time staying with him on this boat. He really has thought of everything. He’s also always available to help you if needed and he lives in a boat nearby.
This is a sailboat not a hotel room. Don’t expect the amenities of a hotel room. Think of this as more of a glamping experience. You have all the basics though including WiFi, fresh water, and toiletries.
The location also couldn’t be better right next to an amazing beach and chat n chill - one of the best beach bars you’ll ever go to.
All in all, this is an amazing experience and I highly recommend staying here if you’re looking for something differed and exiting.

We stayed on a boat in Exuma, just across from Chat ‘N Chill, and it was a unique and memorable experience. The island is beautiful, with opportunities to swim with stingrays and explore sandbars using the provided dinghy. It was our first time sleeping on a boat, and it turned out to be a cool and neat adventure. Mathieu was fantastic, checking in regularly, making sure we were comfortable, and answering all our questions. Highly recommend this for an unforgettable stay!

You could write a novel on this incredible adventure! Mathieu is awesome! Obviously he enjoys his hosting lifestyle in paradise and it’s greatly appreciated. The Exumas beauty is best enjoyed by water and this checks all the boxes. Book at least 4 nights to have the time explore this beautiful place. Even island time seems to go by fast! All the reviews I read before booking are spot on. I would just be repeating. Book it and don’t pack much, you just don’t need it. Thank you Mathieu for everything! We hope to be back soon!

If you’re up for an adventure, this listing is for you!
We met Mathew at Exuma Markets in George Town where we grabbed some groceries and booze. He took us on his dinghy for the ~10 minute out to our home for the next few nights - a 30’ sailboat moored just off Chat n Chill. It’s really not far, so don’t worry about making a thorough grocery run. We got enough for a day or two. He showed us around the boat, which we needed since it was our first time on a sailboat - but don’t worry if you forget anything. He lives close by and is always happy to help. The galley is a well equipped “camp kitchen”, which we found to be perfect.
The location is incredible and the dinghy was one of our favorite parts of this VRBO. You can hop over to the Snappy Turtle, Chat n Chill or Peace & Plenty in two minutes - all great food and drink options. Aside from food, Stocking Island has some great hiking trails and some remote beaches - we literally saw no people for four hours when we went hiking on the ocean side.
Mathew helped us fill up the dinghy and gave us some guidance on getting to Moriah Harbor Cay, which isn’t a ride for the feint of heart - we may be new to 30’ sailboats but we have sailing dinghy and powerboat experience. There’s some “open ocean” and it takes some skill to navigate the sandbars, but we were up to the task and it was worth the beating we took.
Our only complaint is that we couldn’t stay longer. Mathew is incredibly attentive and we would love to come back!!

My husband and I loved our stay on Mathieu’s sail boat. The boat was very cute and intimate. Mathieu was very attentive our entire stay, the use of the dinghy was amazing!! We had several very nice dinners due to the freedom of having the dinghy. It was a great new experience and we are so happy we booked it.

My wife and I had a great stay on Mathieu's boat. He was responsive to any needs and very pleasant.
The boat was in excellent condition as was the dinghy that was supplied. The motor ran reliably and allowed us to travel to George Town for supplies and to explore the many isolated beaches in the area.
If you've never spent time on a boat or operated small watercraft this may not be the right listing for you. But if you like the idea of a bit of privacy in the open water and being able to create your own excursions, look no further! Pack light and have a great stay!

Great place to experience the Exumas on the water! It was such a treat to wake up on the water every morning and take in the beauty of Elizabeth Harbor. Staying aboard Mathieu's boat was such an adventure and something different than staying at a hotel. Defiantly a must do for someone looking for a different experience! Mathieu was very attentive during the whole stay. Always there whenever we had a question and even offering to go into town and get us a few basic things from the market. Would recommend in a heartbeat!

Mathieu is a Top Notch Host! He showed us around the area and was enthusiastic to take us to snorkeling spots and private sand bars. Having the freedom to use the dinghy and go where ever we wanted was key to the adventure and exploration of the area. Mathieu's boat was so very comfortable for 2 people. The V berth has an added foam mattress pad and the hatch above allowed a nice sea breeze all night long. Highly recommend this VRBO host and boat! you can't go wrong.

This experience provided the true experience of boat life! Clean, beautiful, and private! The bed was very comfortable, everything I needed was at my fingertips, and Mattieu was an attentive and accommodating host. I will stay here every time I visit Exuma! Trip of a lifetime!

A comfortable boat in a beautiful setting was all that we expected but our experience was so much more!
Mathieu, our host, displayed attention and caring that was exceptional. Safety and our comfort were paramount. He moved the boat to a calmer harbor, offered tours of the area and also made sure the galley was stocked with the essentials+ when we arrived.
It was a return to the friendly live-aboard life I experienced years ago...a dream come true!

This was the most amazing and unique experience. Glamping at it's absolute finest. Mathieu is a great host. He is an avid boater and has thought about everything. You'll have everything you need on the boat. We were a bit worried about seasickness and even in rougher than normal waters, it wasn't bad at all. Both my wife and my brother's wife were able to sleep well and not feel sick at all despite getting motion sickness regularly.
The dinghy was also perfect. It allowed us the freedom to move around. The boat is in the perfect location only a stone's throw away from Chat n Chill (one of the best beach bars you've ever been to) on one of the most amazing beaches you've ever seen.
Try to stay there on Sunday. Chat n Chill does a pig roast on Sundays and it's a great atmosphere.
You'll get to feed the local stingrays conch and pet them. They are incredibly docile and used to humans petting and handling them.
You can take the dinghy into town to Peace and Plenty, tie up at their boat dock, and have a great dinner. You'll also be able to visit perhaps the second-best beach bar you've ever been to "Da Sand Bar" on Starfish Beach (again, one of the best beaches you've ever seen). These are just some of the cool things to do. But don't worry, your host is a professional and he'll point you in the right direction. He also knows the locals very well so you'll have easy access to a rental car, etc.
Book this amazing property and don't look back. We again for sure!!

My wife and I stayed a couple nights in one of Matthews sailboats. We’ve never done anything like that before so was not sure what to expect. We could have never imagined what an amazing experience it was going to be! Matthew is a phenomenal host and has the perfect amenities to make your trip seamless. From the dingy that we had full access to to roam around from island to island (5-10 min ride to and from each island) down to a Bluetooth speaker for an at home feel. There’s nothing like drinking wine at night up top the boat while watching a Netflix movie if we wanted. This was definitely the best “glamping” experience we have ever had and will definitely be using Matthew again in the future!
