Historic home
musty smell in entry

The property needs bringing up to date. Very shabby and untended. Very disappointing

Quaint manor house, beautiful high ceilings and old decor. The location is pretty central, just a short walk to the centre of town. The roomâs were fairly clean, and very big.
The breakfast would go much smoother if each guest was given an individual card to fill out, rather than the receptionist taking orders as you check in. Itâd be much easier to make decisions when provided with the entire options available. The service couldâve been better also, it didnât seem to match the cosy, wholesome feeling of the house, but rather was just a couple of blokes who seemed as though theyâd rather be somewhere else. The gardenâs were beautiful but could do with some maintenance.

Amazing breakfast.
Room was gloomy, not enough lighting.

Breakfast was excellent, location super and piece of history what I like!
Hard to say
1.0
The breakfast was reasonable and out of character of an otherwise laughable stay. It was dirty, overrun by weeds, had an entry that smelt of cat urine and rooms that were dusty with paint peeling and light globes not working g
The level of upkeep and maintenance was very poor. It appeared as though it hadnât been looked after in 25 years

Room was clean and comfortable and Thomas our host was friendly. With a bit of work, this would be a great place to stay. Breakfast was good and plenty
The gardens needed attention and the place needs a facelift.

Better lighting in bathroom for ladies to apply make up !

What a lovely old mansion. Our room was the old lounge or sitting room (I think) as it was large .Lots of room but they have added a spa/shower in one corner and a toilet in the other corner of the large room.(all a bit quaint).
I rate the staff 10/10.They were just fantastic with arrival and the way they helped when required. The breakfast was a large continental breakfast and I was full afterwards (cereal, yoghut, fruits, toast, honey, ham, cheese and coffee or tea).Parking is on site and you are an easy 10 minute walk/2 minute drive to the pub /wharf
nothing but people who stay there need to remember it is an old place with charm

Friendly and helpful staff. Really enjoyed history of house talk and tour, with complimentary drinks and nibbles. Plenty of breakfast food
Would be good to have a door , between the connecting rooms, rather than just a door way.

Staff were great. Rooms were so cute and comfortable. Overall great stay.
No fridge in rooms, couldâve done with a cooked breakfast, also they have a no children under 12 policy which we werenât aware of when booking so be mindful of that. Overall though a lovely stay. Also robes were advertised but there were none provided.

The house is majestic, fantastic views and central to the town.
The TV in the room needs to be bigger and the reception of stations needs a booster. We didn't spend a lot of time in the room though.
4.5
Excellent location within 10 minutes walking distance from the ferries and the township. Lovely big rooms with on-suites and a comfortable lounge/bar area for the end of the day.
Breakfast offered a large selection of choices including a cold plate of salmon, meat and boiled eggs. A cooked breakfast is not an option but there was more than enough to start the day.
Not a lot except, perhaps, a larger tv screen.

A beautiful old stately house with high ceilings and large rooms.
Power boards and leads in the room look untidy.

a beautiful old building full of antiques and antique fittings. we stayed in the Amelia room which has a beautiful claw bathtub. Thomas is an excellent host. Breakfast is included in the room rate. The accommodation is across the road from the river. A truly lovely experience

The breakfast was extensive and plenty of it for a continental breakfast. The hosts were extremely knowledgeable and helpful.
Would have liked a microwave in room.

very good location for Gordon River cruise. comfy bed good shower and towels, very nice continental breakfast. very helpful staff.
This is a lovely old house which could be magnificent, but it needs a lot of money spent on it to do it justice. The house was filled with too much dark bulky furniture, and was badly in need of redecoration , except for the dining room which had been attended to. The wallpaper in our room was water damaged and starting to come off the walls. We felt the charge for the nights stay was too high but itâs Australia, so par for the course.
