About this house rental
Stunning Georgian/ Regency detached, house in Central St Albans in the Cathedral Conservation area. As such the house is just a 4 min walk to the incredible shops, bars, restaurants and amenities of St Albans. The mainline train station is just over 10 minutes’ walk away and offers a fast train to London in 17 Minutes, every 10 minutes. We can sleep up to 7 people. We have a sun trap courtyard garden and there is free parking in front of our gates which in central St Albans is a rare find.
Our home is a very well-presented character 3/4-bedroom townhouse on 3 floors that sleeps 7 people. There are up to 4 bedrooms, a family bathroom and fully loaded kitchen with all appliances. Separate dining room with large dining table and a Hoffman baby grand piano available for classics or a good old singsong. A cosy basement with a lounge with wall mounted TV and separate WC as well as the main bathroom. Sun-blessed south facing ‘heated’ rear garden with a range of games and activities for guests to enjoy including a 4-hole mini-golf course, darts, backgammon, shuffleboard and table tennis.
St Albans is an historic city, and this property was formally inhabited by a Senior Government Minister who worked for the Prime Minister, Margaret Thatcher. Unconnected to this, St Albans has potentially more pubs per capita than any other City in the world. The Farriers Arms, which is literally across the road, is where the world-famous CAMRA was founded. As part of your stay, to introduce you to the ‘local’ lifestyle, we will buy the first drink in the pub for all guests (ask for Frazier or Jack) and hope you continue to support local businesses.
There is a ‘fun bible’ in our house where we provide you with the best of everything you could possibly enjoy in the City of St Albans and surrounding areas. We have details for our guests at some of the top restaurants, bars, entertainment and sports venues.
You will have access of the whole property. Two keys will be provided.
There is superfast 5G broadband available throughout the whole property which can support multiple devices.
The garden shed has a beer and prosecco fridge which we encourage you to use. There are a wide range of indoor and outdoor games available. We also have two inflatable 9-foot kayaks in our shed which are available for you to take to the local lakes and rivers. The ‘bible’ includes details of some of the best routes to kayak.
In the City of St Albans there are hundreds of eating and drinking venues including family-owned bistros up to globally recognised chains including Cote, The Ivy and Five Guys.
St Albans has an incredible cathedral on the edge of Verulamium Park which is approximately 200 metres from the property. The park is awesome with a free splash park, trampolines, crazy golf, outdoor gym, play park, 9-hole golf course, beach volleyball, football, cricket and an athletics track.
There are regular open air concerts featuring the top artists from pop to comedy.

We loved the house which had a very well equipped kitchen and we really appreciated a kitchen which had everything a family needed. The shower was great too. Chris and Helen were very responsive and gave us many handy tips. Genuinely kind helpful people.

We were very pleased with our stay!! Can’t beat the location, size of the house, amenities and the wonderful hosts. We had one very small concern and Chris took care of it straight away. The beds were very comfortable, great shower, plenty of kitchenware and anything else you might need while staying here. The pub across the street was not only convenient but also welcoming and had good beer. If we ever need a place to stay when visiting family again, this place will be would be our first option. Thank you Chris and Helen!!

We were keen to stay somewhere in St. Albans to be near to the wedding venue, not only for the day itself, but so we could help as much as possible the day before, and we really hit the jackpot with no.22. Chris and Helen could not have been more helpful, everything worked exactly as described and we felt completely at home from the moment we arrived. The house is lovely, and our party including little Piper (2) and Luna (dog) absolutely loved it. Dylan loved the piano too (27, pianist!). The house is right in the centre of the city, minutes from the high street, the cathedral and the park, and this made the whole event so much easier and more relaxed. All in all, a perfect stay, perfect place and perfect hosts. Thank you!!

What a gem! We decided to come to the UK to spend a holiday with our family. St Albans has always been a place the family enjoys visiting - although close to their home.
Chris and team helped with every detail - including help plan for activities and events at the home (cooked a Christmas meal).
The beds were comfy, house clean and felt amazingly homey.
The location was amazing and a parking spot was the icing on the cake. This allowed all the activities we had planned and family to join easily.
We literally needed for nothing and had a successful holiday - thanks to Chris and team! We will definitely be back. Would highly recommend

Had a fabulous time staying in this beautiful house. It’s in a great location with everything you need within easy walking distance. Communication with Chris was very easy and he was a great host. Met us at the property on Friday to give us a tour and gave us some recommendations on where to eat and drink. Great host and brilliant house. If you’re thinking about staying here do not hesitate - do it! Cheers Chris!
