Region: Cornwall’s visitors are constantly tempted back to the beautiful coastline, tiny fishing villages, hidden coves and the world-class surfing. Whatever the reason, Cornwall has long cemented its place as one of Britain’s premier holiday destinations.
Town: One of the real Cornish jewels is Port Isaac. The old village in the valley, a charming fishing community nestled in a valley with steep sides, has hardly altered since the previous century, when it was a centre for smuggling, slate export, and fishing. You can find a lot of little character homes mixed in with bigger cliff-top retreats, all with convenient access to the village's many eateries and shops. As the water recedes, the sandy harbour offers an abundance of rock pools. The village is a well-liked tourist destination with numerous of attractions, including the spectacular Doyden Castle, the lovely Lundy Bay, and the well-known Doc Martin's clinic.
