We loved the location & it worked great for the two of us. We would stay again. Josh was very accommodating.

The location of this property is perfect. One half block from the bay and block and half from ocean. So it is very convenient for walks. There is also a nice grassy area to takes the pups to. There are many good restaurants within walking distance. Where I'm a little disappointed is there aren't any reading lamps in main room or bedroom, only overhead room lights. A couple of ceiling fans would work wonders, but there is a window A/C unit that works well. There isn't a microwave which would make things much nicer. The couch is dirty and the blanket that they have covering it needs a good washing, which is reflected in my scoring. Also there was an ant problem in the kitchen. The garage is nice to have but difficult to get into and out of. It is a cozy little place and overall comfortable I did enjoy my stay. Thank you Josh and April.

The cottage has great potential but needs some TLC. Contacted owner and he say they would take care of the items I mentioned. If he does it us a good rental.

The listing is accurate. It is a VERY small space so if you are 5’5 or taller you are going to be doing a LOT of ducking. The shower is a removable showerhead and the pressure is fine, but it leaks a lot from the attachment to the wall. Because the ceilings are so low, the bottom of the shower curtain sits quite a but in the shower so i felt kinda gross when the water would pool and soak the curtain, so i just had to change the way i put the curtain so it didn’t do that. The couch was visibly dirty and stained and so was the chair in the living room. The location was great, but the garage definitely will only fit a compact car like the listing says. Its basically a shed they use as a garage. The patio furniture was all torn and worn so it wasn’t appealing to sit in. There were no dish towels just paper towels so i had to dry the dishes with paper towels. It seems like there really is very little care in this place. The hosts were very nice and helpful, but once you book he said they call you with the instructions instead of sending them so be aware of that. It was a place to stay, but I would not stay here again, and i would definitely not recommend a family staying there.

Mission beach cottage was comfortable and had easy access to Mission beach and bay. Centrally located.
Enjoyed the bikes and beach toys.
Manager was friendly and very helpful during check in and out.
Will enjoy renting this cottage during next visit.

Comfy cozy cottage in a very convenient location for walking to bay, beach and restaurants. Those over 6ft will not clear doorways, but the low ceilings are part of the charm. Both bed and couch were comfortable. Greatly appreciated the sand chairs, bikes and beach towels to use whenever we were inspired.

The location was everything! Having the bikes and the beach chairs, towels and toys was so nice it made beach days great. Having a kitchen and dishes for meals was nice. There is a grocery store not far from the cottage, which saves us money from not eating out every meal. However, the beds and bedding left much to be desired. The mattress on the bed was uncomfortable and the hide-a-bed was unusable. The hide-a-bed sheets were dirty upon arrival. My daughter had to sleep on the actual couch instead of the bed.
I would say this rental is only for 2 people-3 made it tight.
Other than the beds, it is a cozy cottage in a fabulous location for San Diego fun!

We loved our stay here. It was close to everything we needed. The beach on the ocean or the bay were just steps away. Plenty of places to eat within walking distance. The grocery store was only a 1/2 mile away. There are a couple bikes there to cruise around on. There are a couple beach chairs(back pack style) to take to the beach.
We were able to park our Jetta in the garage.
I’m 6’2” so I had to duck in a few low places in the ceiling of the house.
We will return to this place when we go back to SD for some beach time.

The property is described well in listing. WiFi, TV and streaming. There were heaters and air conditioners. Bed slept well. The cottage is quaint and has charm. Loved the patio off the kitchen. Lots of outdoor space and our dog loved the patio. Everything we needed to make coffee, toaster to have morning bagels and toast. A refrigerator, gas stove and garbage disposal. Garage is precious in mission Bay Area - due to parking issues. Garage small but it worked. 2 bikes, 2 beach chairs and an umbrella for the beach or bay. The bay was 2 houses away by sidewalk. The beach is short walk. Restaurants close by to walk to as well. If you like character and charm this is the place.

Great host. Great location. Great unit.

Had we known all of the doorways were less than 6’ tall we would have passed on this quaint little cottage. Other than that we enjoyed the location, having bikes available, walking on all the great paths up and down the coast and around the bay.

With the beach just foot steps away I knew I would love this place. The cottage was perfect for our stay. The sights and sounds of Mission Blvd were exactly as I imagined. Everything was in close proximity which made seeing the sights that much easier. I highly recommend Josh and April’s quaint cottage. I look forward to a return trip next year.

Perfect little beach hut for my husband and I for a weekend. Great location, cute courtyard and we enjoyed the bikes. Interior cute but tight bedroom and bath but good shelves and hooks, linens and full length mirrors, lots of outlets. Down side was no pod coffee maker, low ceiling, smell of smoker but owner will address that, hard to find and small garage. Owner very responsive and seems to want to make your trip a great experience. Recommend a binder to explain ac and heater and tv (only smart tv). Oh, you can walk to great restaurants and 1/2 block to bay and then 1 1/2 block to Pacific and two beach chairs to go enjoy. We would rent again.

First of all, the location was amazing. It was quiet and peaceful. We were just steps from Mission Bay beach and just a couple of blocks from Pacific Beach. The house was small, but exactly what we needed for our stay. It was sparkly clean and decorated in blues and whites that immediately gave you a "beach feel" when you entered. It had a good-sized, paved backyard with very nice outdoor furniture; a conversation set with couch and rockers, a table and chairs for outdoor dining and a fire pit that we enjoyed every night. The garage was small, but our Mercedes SUV fit inside with no problem. Josh, the owner, was very nice, accommodating to our wishes and, most importantly, easy to contact. We are definitely planning a return trip for a much longer stay!

My daughter and I stayed here for Spring Break and I just can’t say enough how much we enjoyed our stay! The cottage is PERFECTLY located to everything. We didn’t have a car and were pretty much able to walk and bike to everything in the area. The cottage is the perfect size for a couple or other pair. We arrived at 1:00am and had no problem finding the place or getting inside. Josh was SUPER helpful and responded quickly if we needed anything. Would totally recommend this place!!! Loved it!

First off the location is great. The beach cruisers were a nice addition to get around the local area. There is a garage for a small car. The bed was comfortable and linens clean. The courtyard was nice. We had a great time
A few things would make it better. The couch was stained and dirty, we used beach towels to sit on it. Only one wash cloth was provided in the bathroom for two of us for a four day stay. In order to get the bathroom door to close, it is a loud slam, the shelf that is in the bathroom was falling off the wall. If you have kiddos that need help bathing, I would not recommend. The kitchen was usable but barren. A couple more dish towels and plates would be helpful. There is no microwave which would have been helpful to reheat leftovers, save on washing pots and pans, and the stove top/oven heat up the entire kitchen when on. Although there is a large outside table in the courtyard, the inside kitchen table is a tiny metal table for two. The kitchen is small, but has room if you are creative. The check in process was a phone call. It is helpful if the information is online. Playing phone tag is not the most convenient. Some driving suggestions would be helpful as the "court" that it is addressed to is only a walking path. Maps kept telling us to turn down a street that was non drivable. It is located in an area with one way alleyways, so if you missed the turn on the "court" you then have to drive a few blocks and circle back around.

This was a super cute little beach cottage. Everything was clean. Josh was very responsive. The beach is just a short walk away. And it was awesome that they had bikes we could use so we didn’t have to rent. Definitely would stay again.

Cottage location is really great. Good casual places to eat within walking distance. Lots of younger people there so we felt a bit like oldsters in that crowd. The place is sweet. Bad mold problem and I am allergic to mold so it was a tough week for me. Also, if you are over about 5 ft. 10 inches tall you will need to duck a lot. If I was 40 years younger and not allergic to mold it would have been the best. No microwave.

We live in Seattle. I'm so shocked at the affordability of this little cottage. Tiny, yes. Beach accessibility? Yes. Walking distance to restaurants and a small store? Yes. My 2 girls and I love quirky old homes and this fit the bill.
Full size fridge and freezer, pantry storage, and a gas stove, which was amazing.
The owner was very responsive and kind.
I couldn't fit my rental CRV in the garage. I'm positive a more skilled parker could. I found a parking hack nearby.
Comfortable bed and a super quirky shower/ bath (had to wade in to adjust the water for my kids but they thought it was awesome).
All the kitchen items we needed.
No shampoo or conditioner or bathroom items which is fine because we prefer our own.
We will be back!

My wife and I were here in early February. We love visiting San Diego and had never stayed this close to the beach. Bottom line, we liked it.
First, the downside. Older, small house. Limited kitchen. Some parts are kind of funky….like the shower/tub entry and low doorways. If you are large people, this might not be a good fit.
On the plus side, and there are many, the location is fantastic! Very urban/dense feel (houses packed together….small narrow streets.) Extremely safe feeling and walkable….to the bay and ocean. Far enough from the main thru street that you don’t hear road noise at night. Small shops nearby.
We were there during the atmospheric river, so the ocean area was cold and wet. But I can only imagine how enjoyable it would be in good weather to be only a minute away from watching the surf and sunsets.
There’s also a nice little backyard, which we never got to use due to inclement weather. The bed is comfortable. And the shower water is hot...almost immediately.
The wall heater unit failed, but Josh (the owner) was great and got us some space heaters which really warmed up that little house.
I must tell you that the place really grew on us the longer we stayed (5 days). It’s well worth the price. We would definitely rent again. Thanks Josh, we had a great experience, even if the weather sucked.

The cottage is very quaint. It is within a couple of minutes walking distance to the beach. The bed was especially comfortable and the shower/tub was very cute. The manager/owner was prompt in answering questions I had and was extremely accommodating. His quick response and friendly demeanor was refreshing. The doorframes are low and if you are taller than 6' you will have to duck. Although there is not a washer and dryer, there is a laundromat within 5 minutes walking. The garage is small and adorable. If you have a big car it may not fit. It barely fit our jeep which has a full size tire on the back and a brush guard on the front. My daughter and I loved our stay here and wish we could have stayed longer. We will definitely stay here again if it available.

Perfect location for beach, bay, restaurants and shops. Host very helpful with adding extra night.
A few things would help make 5 stars - White sleeper sofa covers were dirty on arrival amd need a wash and some outdoor seating cushions worn and torn. Only 2 bath towels so a few more helpful. A hair dryer would be great.

The 2 of us really enjoyed our 5 day stay in the cottage. The location is fantastic and the cottage is cute but basic. Bed is comfortable, lots a blankets and pillows. House well equipped for beachside including lots of towels, chairs and especially the beach bikes. We used them every day.

Cozy cottage conveniently located within walking distance to the bay and the beach, and a nice outdoor area as well. Amenities were good, the only exception being, a hairdryer and a small microwave would have been helpful. We enjoyed our time and would stay here again!

Was such a lovely space! Everything you needed. Location was great - had beach chairs and bikes if needed. Bed was comfortable & bathroom shower was awesome. Can't say enough good things. If you can stay here, definitely book it! Best beach shack vibes all around!

Perfectly situated between beaches, ocean or bay depending on your choice. Although small, the house is very functional. We in particular loved the patio. It was also terrific to have a garage but our Toyota CAMRY just fit in. Looking forward to our next stay!

It was exactly as advertised. The space was very clean. The provided bikes were amazing as well, we used them the entire stay. The covered parking was great as well, no need to worry about fighting for street parking. I would definitely recommend staying here and we would love to come back in the future.

Got into property fine on a hot and humid day. A/C was a savior. Short doorways and ceilings not an issue for this 6'1" renter. Bathroom was small but sufficient. Moving in the tub felt like water sloshing under the tub. Walls stayed up while visiting, so our stay was nice. Location was hard to beat with walking distance to all amenities. Easy Uber access.

A few of my family members stayed in this adorable cottage! It slept 4 adults and was within close proximity to the beach, bay, and shops on the boulevard. The back patio area was a great space to hangout at night under the lights. Overall, they really enjoyed their stay!

This little house is in the perfect location. You can walk either way and be at the ocean or bay within 3 minutes. Very clean & great space for 2 people. Nice private patio & garage which are a plus if you want to use either. The doorframes are definitely shorter, but exactly as described and we had no issues with space at all. The window AC unit was amazing & cooled off the entire place quickly. I will definitely be coming back!

The location is perfect and the house was clean and lot's of new things!!! Beach chairs, kitchen utensils etc. Everything you need for a week trip, no washer, dryer or microwave and ceilings are short but all very manageable...luckily my wife and I aren't tall. Will use again if I decide to come back, thanks!!

We found this cottage to be exactly as advertised. The location is as good as it gets, and the property is clean and well maintained. Perfect for a small family or group looking to spend some time at the beach. Both the ocean and Mission Bay are less than 5 minutes walk. We enjoyed our time tremendously, and can't say enough good things. A true gem!

One bath. Super friendly and helpful owner. Doorways are 6’ soo watch your head. Beach cruisers and chairs. Overall, had a blast.

First let me say the beach house is exactly as described. A wonderful place! But, also the hosts are amazing. I had a medical emergency (appendicitis) at the end of my stay. They were flexible and kind and went out of their way.to accommodate my idifficulty. Thank you so much!
