Great house with plenty of views of the lake and easy access to the dock. AC worked great during the hot weather while we were there. Lots of good restaurants around. We would definitely stay again.

Family Vacation. The host was very responsive to our inquiries, and the property had all that we needed. The location was perfect. We have a very relaxing wonderful stay and would rent again. Thank you for sharing your home with us!

We had a great time, just a few issues that needed fixing.1. The top dock needed some of the decking boards to be fastened down. They were sticking up and could cause someone to fall.2. In the upstairs master bedroom the split heat pump unit was working properly. But all things considered everything went well we were still very satisfied and we would recommend this place for anybody that like the lake life

Our party was four adults and two kids and there was plenty of room to spread out - we had a great time and spent a ton of time down on the water! We had plenty of room to dock our pontoon and bass boat. The interior of the house is clean, the upstairs is recently remodeled and it is nice. There is plenty of entertainment downstairs for the kids/everyone on down days.I think some of the previous reviews were a little exaggerated. A majority of SML was developed in the 80s and before then, it was small community fish camps (some of which you can still see) and summer homes. The water in the house is fine for drinking and bathing - no issues. Yes, it is a gravel but well maintained road to the house, like many roads in the area. Compared to a lot of homes on this lake, the steps and ramps to the dock were a breeze. If you have never stayed on Smith Mountain Lake, most homes have extremely steep grades and lots of stairs to get to the water's edge. There was no mold. The kitchen has everything you need. There are lights on the dock. We would rent again.Thank you for sharing your home!

Myself and some of my friends from other states met up at this home for a fishing tournament. It was the perfect spot for us and the house was very clean and we had no issues whatsoever. We had to contact the host about a fuse blowing and they got right back to us and it was taken care of immediately. We plan to be back.

Big negative was gravel road to location so won't rent again. Also outside stairs have different height levels above and below platform. This is not a good construction standard. Also, molding indoors from one room to another can be tripping hazard.
Like Foose-ball table, but two men missing from center controls and no screws to attach them.

We had our older children in for Thanksgiving. This house gave us the perfect space to host them. With 2 kitchens, it made the whole cooking process easier. The property manager was very quick to respond/answer when I had any questions.

The stay was beautiful… but we couldn’t watch any tv and no lights on the docks at night! We rented a boat for the weekend and couldn’t enjoy it after 6pm because the dock on the house didn’t have any light!

Unfortunately the property is extremely run down and in need of serious work. Mold is a big issue.

The pictures don't look as bad as the property really is. First off, getting to the house is a bit scary looking as you drive 2 miles down a dirt road that has all of these abandoned rv's, motor homes and low income housing. I would consider this area ghetto looking. Once you enter the property it has a terrible pet smell as well as moldy smelling. The place is dirty; toilets orange and not cleaned, floor are dirty. There was still pieces of confetti from someone previous. There are no curtains on slider door upstairs, tv did not work, had to go buy a light bulb for the hall bathroom which doesn't even have a light over the vanity, so it's hard to do your hair or makeup in their. The water smelled so bad that no one wanted to take a shower or wash their hair in it. We had to use bottled water to brush our teeth. The mattresses in the room with 2 double beds were so bad that you could not move because they were so sqeaky. I had to go downstairs in the bathroom to use the vanity so I could see but the electrical outlet in that bath does not work so it was useless. The exhaust fan in that bathroom is so disgusting with black mold all over it. I wouldn't even give this house 1 star if I had the option. Everyone was coughing and sneezing by the time we left from the moldy mildew smells. There is NO way that this house is rated exceptional. False ratings and review. WE had to stay 2 nights but we didn't want to come back in the evenings. Wasted my money

Great place to stay on SML. Excellent management and communication with booking. They answered all of our questions quickly and were very accomodating when able. Very roomy home with nice outdoor space, especially the 2-level dock. Conveinently located just above the Bridgewater bridge, but in a cove that doesn't have too much wake from passing boats. House was comfortable and great for our family Labor Day Weekend getaway. Our children loved hanging out near the dock tubing, paddleboarding, and swimming. We would stay at Happy Acres again!

My husband and I stayed here recently and really enjoyed it! The location of the home is wonderful and in a quiet neighborhood with friendly neighbors. The cove is quiet but has great access to the lake. The double dock with the deck on top was perfect! The kids LOVED jumping off the top of the dock. We were sad to hear that they had an electrical issue at the time so we had no lights on the dock and the pump for the hose on the water slide did not work but the kids found they could just soak the slide and it still worked great! The multiple decks on the home had great views and easy access to the small fenced-in yard for our dog. The home is much bigger than the photos represent and has a TON of open space. You can tell the recently new owners have a great vision for the house and the work they have done to upgrade it is apparent. The kitchen was lovely and spacious and having breakfast on the dock was a favorite thing. The property manager communicated well and responded quickly with answers when we had questions.
