About this house rental
Come, make this lovingly restored 100-year-old craftsman cottage your personal retreat as you experience all our coastal community has to offer. Located on a quiet side street, this sizeable one bedroom, one bathroom has convenient on-site parking with an EV charging station, but once you unload your bags, you might find your car doesn't move for a while. Our well equipped kitchen has new, state of the art, stainless appliances, all the tools you'll need to make an amazing meal, and a sweet kitchen nook enlivened by artistic renderings of local street scenes, but if you'd rather someone else do the cooking, a less than five minute walk will put you right in the middle of pedestrian friendly downtown Main Street where you can meander the shops and choose from independent craft houses, hand tossed pizzas, succulent seafood, or tapas and beer. If you don't want to go that far, head the other direction and just steps from your front door you'll find long time local favorites Corrales Mexican or Spencer McKenzie's seafood. Once you make your way back to the cottage, sink into the cozy welcome of the soothing blues and greys of the living room, stream your favorite series or settle in to watch an old classic from several streaming services. If you're feeling competitive, grab a boardgame ... winner gets the first glass of wine. Wash away your day in the glass enclosed shower, plush towels waiting, then sink into the comfy queen bed, complete with indulgently soft linens, and drift into dreams. When the sun comes up, pick your favorite flavor from our Keurig pods, or tasty teas, and enjoy a cup on the front porch while you plot your day. So much to choose from and we've made it so easy. Grab the back-pack like beach chairs and towels, jump on the beach cruisers and make the less than five minute trek to stake out your spot in the sand, or pack a picnic and hit the trails. After your day in the sun, unwind in the private back-yard; get comfortable on the patio furniture and enjoy the warm glow of overhead lights while you barbecue and wait for the stars to come out. We look forward to welcoming you! (This unit is the left side of a duplex and has its own private rear yard).

I had the most beautiful time in this cottage so close to the beach and downtown. It was so lovely indoors and out. I will definitely stay at this location next time I’m in town visiting family.

Beautiful, cozy cottage. The name “Coastal Ventura Charmer” really says it all! Extremely clean, comfy bed, & beautiful kitchen! Looks and feels brand new! We were in town for a wedding so unfortunately did not have the opportunity to use the toys in the shed but did enjoy an evening glass of wine on the wonderful porch! No air conditioning, however, all we had to do was open the windows at night and use the fan in the bedroom to be perfectly comfortable while sleeping! Some wonderful restaurants within easy walking distance also. Quite the little gem in Ventura. Would definitely stay here again!

The location was perfect. Just a quick walk to the beach and lots of restaurants and breweries nearby. We really appreciated all the extras that Sherrie provided. We took advantage of the bikes and rode all along the bike path by the beach. And it was so nice to have beach chairs for the beach, since we were traveling by plane and that's not something we could pack for ourselves. Great outdoor space in the back. Highly recommend this rental!!

We had a very pleasant stay in Ventura. Great location for walking to downtown shopping, restaurants, beach.
Management company was very helpful -- no problem extending our stay one day.

Everything about this stay was just what we needed. The city and people of Ventura are lovely! The property was in such a convenient location we were able to walk to almost everything. The house was spotless, the kitchen well-stocked, and the neighborhood quiet. My wife and I loved it and will stay there again!

We thoroughly enjoyed 5 nights at this property while visiting our son and his wife in Ventura. The house was very clean and comfortable. The kitchen has brand new appliances that we used to make dinners. The bed was comfortable and a nice quiet location for sleeping. The owner has many very nice paintings on display that compliment the nice decor.
We made use of the lighted patio area as well as used the 2 bikes the owner has available to ride the bike paths along the ocean.
We will definitely stay here again when we next visit Ventura.

A great relaxing weekend! Pictures online are accurate to what the house and location are like. Very cute. Short walk to beach and several restaurants. Short drive to downtown.

Everything was as pictured and described by other guests. My favorite part of staying in such a centrally located place was being able to park my car for my entire stay. For example I was able to walk to the beach, local restaurants, interesting shops, the Museum of Ventura, and even see a play at the professional regional theater the Rubicon. Then return to a beautiful property which was welcoming inside and out.

Great little 1920s Craftsman style that is a duplex. Inside has been updated and has a large kitchen with everything you could need. Lots of beach/activity supplies. Lovely private backyard. Great place for 1 or 2 people. Thank you!

When choosing the property, we were impressed with the pictures and the reviews. It met or exceeded our expectations. The house was clean, beautifully decorated and had everything we needed. The patio in the back was a great place to hang out and provided a secure place for our bikes. We also liked the off-road parking.
The location was great! The beach was a few blocks away and the main streets for shopping and dining were also a few blocks away. We rarely used our car.
The owner was responsive and informative.
We will definitely plan on visiting Ventura again and when we do we will stay at this property.

Nice place to stay. 5 stars is an easy grade! Being a little picky when I say I wish the master had a ceiling fan but that’s my personal preference. Still slept great and it is obvious the owner takes pride in the house.

Had a great stay for 5 nights, was in town for a wedding. Great location, lots of places to eat, within walking distance. We didnt have a car so this was critical for us. We used the bike and it was great. The only issue I'd call out here is the duplex has no air conditioning, not sure if this was specifically stated on the listing description, but we probably would not have stayed here if we had known there was no AC, it was in the middle of the summer. Owner offered to install screens on the windows but things got busy and that didnt happened. Everything else was great, add AC and it's 5 stars across the board.

This charming duplex was perfect for our family of 3. Everything was comfortable, well thought out, easy to use, just as described or perhaps better. A small issue with the shower occurred on day 1 but that was fixed immediately with easy/prompt communication with the property manager. Such easy walking/biking to endless restaurants and the pier/beach. Charming outdoor space with a great heating unit. We didn’t get the chance to use everything but so much was available (just wish we brought our wetsuits!). This is a little gem - it’s very nicely done.

It was more than our expectations. Everything was extremely well. The location was perfect. Very clean, wonderful patio to relax and enjoy the outside. The owner thought of everything to make this home away from home your home. We would definitely come back.
