The hotel was amazing. The staff were very friendly and the view from room number one was outstanding. All the little extra touches they do makes the hotel stand out.

Staff were professional, friendly and very helpful at all times. Our 1-night stay was lovely, room very well kept and the pantry was a bonus. Lovely cocktail drinks on rooftop, helped by an amazing summers day. Brilliant location and very much enjoyed our lunch on the terrace overlooking the beach.

We had a fantastic time, the staff were absolutely amazing. The room we had was superb, the bed super comfortable and very clean and bright. The food was good.
Defo recommend.

The most beautiful hotel with such attentive and friendly staff. I stayed here for my birthday and it did not disappoint. Gorgeous decor, the comfiest bed, delicious food and beautiful views!

I loved everything about this hotel! So cute and quirky. Everyone was so nice. The spa is beautiful and the treatment was fantastic. Rooftop bar was a nice surprise as well. Just fab! Can’t wait to go back.

Beautiful place. Everything done with attention to detail. Easily the best place to stay in Margate.

Hi we stayed at Guesthouse 42 for one night as we were in Margate for a concert in Dreamland. This Guesthouse is in a brilliant location for everything in Margate. The rooftop bar gives an impressive view of the beach and harbor. The rooms are very well presented with a fridge, hair dryers, clothes steamer, tea and coffee machines, safe etc. Complimentary toiletries smell great. There is off site secure parking available for £20 , this needs to be pre booked. If you're feeling peckish there's a small pantry on the second floor which has pick and mix sweets, cakes, cold drinks, fruit etc which is all complimentary 24 hours a day. Breakfast is served in the ground floor restaurant again with great views of the beach and harbor. Thoroughly recommend this place and will definitely stay here again.

I came to Margate for an overnight solo birthday trip and I had the most wonderful time at No 42 by Guesthouse (Margate). The room was gorgeous - spacious, airy, well designed and with a balcony overlooking the beach that seats two people comfortably. There are lots of little amenities in the room that make your stay comfortable as well as supporting local businesses and artists, and the pantry is an excellent touch if you're feeling snacky. Dinner was all booked up by the time I checked in as it was a Sunday and everything closes a bit earlier but I got an excellent recommendation from the staff for the restaurant next door which was amazing. Breakfast in the morning was delicious (you can eat overlooking the sea) and I also tried a treatment the spa which was great (they give you a sample of the oil they use in your massage which was a lovely touch). I'd definitely return.

Lovely room, great service (the staff couldn’t have been more helpful or friendlier). Good facilities with nice extras and surprises. Make sure you watch the sunset with a drink on the roof top bar.

The decor is really lovely, the staff are great and it's a really handy location near lovely restaurants like Dory's.
The bed is comfy and the shower is strong. The duvet is pretty warm so worth setting the AC low at night.

We loved the hotel, everything about it. The staff were great too. We’d love to go back.

The room was so lovely, felt like a real treat and a short walk to the beach, restaurants, bars, antique shops, shell grotto and Turner Gallery.

Lovely hotel - modern and clean but ver cozy and rustic too. The staff was very nice and helpful too.

What a find. I cannot fault this lovely hotel on the seafront in Margate. The welcome was outstanding, the accommodation superb - the decor and little touches were exceptional, and the breakfast lovely.
Can’t recommend No 42 enough

Lovely boutique hotel, near the beach and Turner museum. Restaurant is excellent.
Margate is a mixed bag, some chic parts. some very run down areas. Not much sign of "levelling up" from those lying Tories.

I always travel alone and Margate was a random pick for the final day of my vacation. But I was truly impressed by the exceptional warmth and hospitality of the staff. They provided me with patient and detailed assistance, whether it was regarding my accommodation inquiries or any help I needed throughout my stay. Their professionalism and genuine service made me feel truly at home.
The room itself was cozy, impeccably clean, and exuded a sense of comfort. What stood out were the thoughtful details, like the vinyl record player and speakers, which added a unique touch to the ambiance. But the real showstopper was the breathtaking ocean view from my window. The vast expanse of the sea, glistening under the sun, provided a magnificent backdrop that made my day start with a touch of tranquility.
I really look forward to returning and reuniting with that incredible view once again.

Such a beautiful stay. We had a complimentary upgrade to the sea view room which had a lovely view of the beach! We brought our dog who was well loved by the hotel team, giving him lots of pets and treats. Love the pantry concept but it was sparse so we didn’t get to try everything.
Would also highly recommend booking for their Rooftop Bar, it’s beautiful and honestly transports you somewhere else with its view of the beautiful beach. Plus, the mocktails were lovely!

Can’t wait to go back again. Lovely hotel cocktails we’re great

Left to take our own luggage to room. No concierge. Parking arrangements not explained beforehand and residents didn’t use allocated bays. Dining was excellent and compensated for Front-of-house failings.

Fabulous central location though also very quiet. The staff were exceedingly helpful. There was a problem with accessing the car park. The phone/gate system did not work well and involved standing in the rain unable to get out of the car park!
5.0
The room was exceedingly warm with no means of lowering the temperature to below16 Celsius.
The car park needed a phone so coming from Canada that was expensive. However we were given a fob to use later.
The staff were really accommodating especially as there had been a mistake made with dates.
I would recommend this hotel as long as a sea view room is booked. Town view rooms are very noisy.

Nice sea views. Stayed on the top floor, noise from the roof bar was a bit much and noise from people getting out of the lift on our floor and going up the stairs.

The hotel was nicely decorated and furnished with style as you would expect with a hotel of this standing but the communication from the staff was lacking. We had emailed to say that we would book in earlier in the day but we would not return until after midnight. The room was not ready when I came to book in and the receptionist was surprised as she understood we weren't booking in until after midnight. When we did return at night the door was locked and we had not been given instructions how to gain entry. This was finally resolved but could have been avoided. Breakfast the following morning was disappointing as it was barely warm. Overall could and should have been better.

Amazing hotel with a lovely view directly on the sea.
The room was perfectly clean, very well organized and the staff is friendly and caring.
I will surely come back.

Close to beach, pubs, and restaurants. Comfortable bed, clean and modern furnishings. Best bathroom with separate deep tub and power shower.
5.0
We found the room descriptions misleading. Balconies are mostly brick walls and you can’t see the sea views sitting on them which is disappointing as the only pictures show a room with a railing balcony. The chairs on the balcony are covered in pigeon poo. The top superior rooms do not mention a balcony in their description.
The inside of the room is lovely and clean. The overall impression of the decor throughout the hotel is excellent.
Reception is manned periodically with pleasant staff and the dining room team at breakfast were great. Thank you.

Brilliant. Friendly staff. Fantastic location. Excellent accommodation. Already booked for next year😁

There was a leak on the day we checked in. What was impressive was the level of communication before we even arrived. The breakfast was really good, the views were special and above all the staff were friendly and welcoming.

The lift was broken and we were on 4th floor. They alerted us to the problem ahead of time and moved our room to the 1st floor but no sea view that we had booked. They did give us a 30 pound discount but it was disappointing. The staff did their best to help us. The room was recently renovated and very nice, walk in shower in bathroom. The restaurant was very good and excellent service at dinner and breakfast
