The room was very clean with a remodeled bathroom. The sheets were clean and the bed was comfortable. A lot of space for parking. Truck parking for Truckers that is passing through.

This hotel is recently renovated so I was told. It had been shut down for a while and just reopened. I think they opened a little prematurely. My room looked fine at 1st glance, not a 5 star by any means just good enough for quick 2 night stay until I went to shower. The bottom was peeling and the material was rusty. I would have never put my bare feet into this tub. I could have gotten tetanus from this rust! How they could ever put someone in this room and expect them to shower or bathe comfortably is beyond me. And I do not consider myself high maintenance. I asked for a new room and was placed in a room that smelled so heavily of smoke that it gave me a headache. I was told there are no smoking rooms but the previous hotel must have because it was obvious. I took a shower here before asking for another room because at least the bathroom was better. Not all the way clean (hair in the shower curtain, stained shower curtain, stain on towels) but at least good enough for a quick wash off. I then asked for a third room and I am glad I took a shower in the last one because this tub was peeling here too but at least not rusty. Not to mention in the second room, there was no deadbolt lock, however the first and third rooms did have one. The second room also had things missing off of the walls as compared to first and third rooms. The final and third room was good enough to lay my head. Overall not filthy but did not meet basic needs. They opened way too soon. Still needs work.

I’ve stayed at the Smart Stay on several occasions. The price is very affordable and I’ve never had any problems with my stays. Plus the rooms are very clean and kept up. I will stay there again. 😁

Breakfast would have been nice! I was told I needed to tell them that I wanted my room cleaned ahead of time so I couldn't get my room cleaned. The pictures are very deceiving however the staff was nice.

Not bad place, pretty standard, bed was high, I had to climb up(!) but comfortable, although the fitted sheet was too small and wouldnt stay on, it barely covered the bed! Shower was hot. No tea/coffee facilities in the room but you can get them between 6-11am, and the train line is across the road so you do hear them rolling through every 10-20 minutes from about 4:30am, well that’s when I first heard them anyway.

Basic and reasonable, but what is it with American motels not mopping the floor! Anyway this place is basic, convenient to highway, and room was quiet. There was ok room service for a 2 night stay, but the guy who checked us in was very helpful and gave us some restaurant/bar suggestions.

I did not even stay here. He wanted to charge me $10 extra for a 3rd person and danced around the question of me seeing the room before paying. Did he charge the homeless for sitting on the property?

Check in was very quick & easy. The clerk was very nice. The building is older, but remodeled recently & the room was clean & comfortable. The only con is the bathtub needs to be redone & the faucet handle could not be reached while sitting in the tub.

Our room was in good condition with a microwave and fridge/ freezer. It was a reasonable price without breakfast although reception sell a few drinks and chocolate snacks. Unfortunately I did found a long dark hair in the bed maybe from the house keeping team making the bed so I just removed it. Maybe more care of this but the room was very clean otherwise. Free Parking felt safe. The pool hasn’t been used for a long time so would be good if this was in use again in the future. Would def stay again. Reception staff were friendly.

I have stayed here several times when I come to Layfayette. Nicely remodeled and a pleasant suprise. The owners are very are very customer service focused. Excellent value!!

Rooms were nice but the amount of spider webs and bugs was just ridiculous. Upon entering the room it smelled horrible and there was so many webs in the corners and near the a/c. My daughter dropped something by the bed and when she went don’t to get it she noticed a huge amount of webs under the bed and dead bugs in the webs. We had so many dead crickets and spiders on the walls. The pool was not working and was dirty as well. When we arrived the person in front desk couldn’t understand nothing we were trying to tell him. Just overall a bad experience.

Upon arrival of the hotel we had a quick & easy check. We noticed only one side of the hotel rooms were available. Upon getting in the room, we seen that the sheets were stained & there was a left over beer can that froze in the refrigerator & the plate for the microwave was missing. I brought this to the front desk attention & was advised to get new bedsheets. The towel rail was broken & there was a lump in the floor as if the floors were not done properly. The front desk advised us to change our room after we notice the 2nd pair of sheets that were given had even bigger stains. The second room was okay but we were so glad we stayed just the 2 nights. This hotel needs to be shut down!!!

Hidden gem! This hotel (motel) is at a great location. It's clean and up to date. I had a room facing the parking, but didn't have any noise during the night. Staff was very friendly. The price may indicate it should be a lower standard, but it is just as good as other 3 stars hotels I've stayed at in the south

I can't help but think the high ratings and "wonderful" reviews for this place are fake because my experience was anything but wonderful. Within an hour of arriving, I encountered a cricket, heard non-stop crickets behind the wall art, saw a flying bug on the ceiling, and was greeted by a huge cockroach. Despite some nice renovations in the rooms, the critter situation made it feel like I was camping outdoors inside the hotel room. The hotel needs to address this issue before it can live up to its ratings.

Nice clean room, newly updated, close to highway. Love that the room had a fridge and a microwave. Only complaint is I would love access to hot water for tea in the morning and both ice machines weren't working. Otherwise, great budget place to stay.
