Guita was an exceptional host. Beautiful view of the sunrise from the master bedroom that I enjoyed every morning with a cup of coffee. The house is a good central location with easy access to explore Monterey, Pacific Grove, and Carmel. The street can be a bit loud at times but the front yard was wonderful for my 2 dogs. Overall, being new to the area, I could not have asked for a more wonderful host who did everything to ensure I had whatever I needed for a wonderful stay. Thank you Guita!

Our family--two adults, one child--stayed at Guita's rental for two months. The house was equipped with everything we needed and had an added bonus of being located in a terrific neighborhood. We walked everywhere and found terrific enjoyment in that. The yard is also fenced and safe for dogs. We found Guita to be helpful and responsive and easy to communicate with. Other reviewers noted that the back unit was noisy when rented out. While there were other renters there during our stay, we personally did not have any trouble with noise. Overall, it was a good experience for our family.

We had a wonderful time in Monterey. The rental was everything we expected and more. The home is beautifully redecorated and well stocked. It is centrally located, walking distance to Cannery Row and a quick 15 min drive to Carmel and the stunning 17 mile drive in Pebble Beach. The garden is colorful with beautiful vines comprising the yellow squash patch. The only issues were the noise from the people at the property in the back as their patio backs up to both bedroom windows. Also, the house is at a stop sign on David, which was a little noisy as it’s a busy street. The windows have double panes so it’s not too noticeable inside. This said we would still consider staying there again as it’s a beautiful property.

Great house with beautiful garden. Perfect for our family of 5 and dog. Note there is an uphill walk back to home.

Excellent location, we loved our stay there. We had a lovely dinner there, easily accessible to markets. Owner was very responsive, that is always a plus. We highly recommend this rental vacation to anyone else.

The home is very cute and has all the necessary accoutrements in addition to some very special ones. The main room windows provide a lovely, distant view of the Bay. The location is great as it is just a short walk to Cannery Row and the Monterey Aquarium. Though the beds are just double size they are quite adequate for a short stay. The ship style bath is especially appealing. The kitchen is very modern and convenient and has some uniquely creative chandeliers.
Sadly, there were a few things that I believe should be repaired or changed. The first is there were way too many personal belongings, like make up, stashed in spaces that could be easily accessed. I felt as if I was invading a private space of a person I don't know. Secondly, the bureau in the main bedroom had no handles which made it quite difficult to use.
Overall, we were in the area on a beautiful sparkling fall weekend and we felt very fortunate to have had this place to stay.
Thank you for sharing it.

Overall, great location and a good value for the house.
PROs:
Great location, close (walking distance) to the Aquarium and Pacific Grove as well.
Nice house - plenty of room: two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a living room area. A small view of the bay, looks quite pretty at night.
Nice owner - very friendly! Provided us a crib for our little one.
Pet friendly!
CONs:
Can be noisy. This property is a duplex. In our case, the adjoining property had a party of women, who talked all night and well into the early morning. We could hear every word they said. I don't think they were being particularly loud, it's just the way the property is set-up. The master bedroom overlooks the adjoining property back-yard, and the second bedroom sits overlooking the other unit's back porch! So if there's people out late at night, you WILL hear them. Even at 3 in the morning!!

loved this place, great location. walking distance to everything. the place itself was fantastic. It had a nice homey feeling. very reasonably priced compared to what it offers. we would love to stay here again. they are also very helpful, we were having a hard time with the tv remote controls and after 10 mins we had someone in the house helping us and walking us through it. The owner was super nice as well, loved and tremendously enjoyed our stay.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this vacation rental and the owner was very easy/wonderful to work with! We had a girls' weekend and had an amazing time! One night we cooked pizza bread in and there was everything we needed to drink wine and eat pizza. The next day we walked all over town and the house was perfectly located for walking, there is a bit of a hill so bring comfy shoes. We also walked to dinner later that night. The home was comfy and clean. It also helped that there were 2 bathrooms. I would REALLY REALLY REALLY recommend staying here for young couples, girls' trip and young families.

I must say that this house was great for 2 couples to get away for the weekend. It was a very clean and well decorated home. Very comfortable. It is very close to Cannery Row, and has a great bay view. You can hear the sea lions at night while laying in bed. This home has everything a person needs to enjoy your time there. I will visit this rental again. The owner of the house was very easy to deal with. I must say, she has a very lovely home.

We changed our plans at the last minute and needed to arrive a day early to the property. The owner was wonderfully gracious and accommodated us without any problem. The home is, I sense, literally the home of the owner...it seemed like she lives there and then vacates for vacationers. Clothes in closets, lots of personal things around, etc. I have no problem with that. But I've had a lot of experience with VRBOs and for the most part, the rentals were strictly rentals. So this was a first for me and on the morning we arrived, the owner's friend was doing his laundry in the house. I'm not a stickler for privacy. We were with my adult daughter. But if you're looking for privacy, this may not be the place for you. There is a tenant who lives behind the property--really, the unit it attached to the vacation rental and the tenant's back deck is directly adjacent to the guest bedroom window. You cannot open the drapes without looking into the tenant's kitchen. Parking for the vacation rental is on a fairly busy street, too. Again, no problem for us. But if you have small children, it's a narrow sidewalk and you'd want to be careful getting kids in an out of a car. But let's move to the positives! It is a charming cottage with a ton of personality. Appliances are all topnotch. It was very clean. Nice sheets, towels. The side terrace is beautiful with a pot belly fireplace. True, it is a busy street and other reviewers claimed the traffic was noisy. Not so much for us..the view is beautiful sitting out there. We scored with 75 degree weather so we BBQd and had a fire and pretty much tuned out the cars. There is a market about five blocks down the hill and this property is within walking distance to the aquarium and Cannery Row. A moderately long walk but certainly do-able. For dog-owners, this is paradise. The side terrace and garden are securely fenced in. You are also about 20 minutes from Carmel...dog-heaven beach!! Again, to be clear, I absolutely loved this place...but I really feel that giving a review without some kind of critique is not being fair to the owner or the prospective renter. I know that when you are on a budget you want to maximize every dollar. And the privacy issue, while not a big deal to me, might be for others..also the busy street for small children. Otherwise it's a charming little cottage in a town that otherwise features kinda modern, non-descript hotels.

My wife and I shared the house with my brother and is wife. The beds were comfortable and the house was clean. Very convenient to groceries and Tourist sites. Home owner is wonderful to work with. A word of caution. The house is located near a stop sign and the traffic noise was disturbing us in the morning.

The home was fantastic and the owner was the best! We ended up arriving early and she agreed to let us put our things in the home while we explored. The weather was amazing and due to El Nino, the whale activity was non stop. Everything about the home was great, (make sure you use the massage chair after a long day). I wish there were more channels available on cable while relaxing in the evening but if that is my only thing to be critical about that's pretty weak :-). Thanks again Guita, we hope to return soon!

We had a great time in Monterey and loved staying in this wonderful home. There was ample enough space for grownups and teenagers alike to have a little privacy, and the patio would be a definite bonus in good weather. Being able to walk to the aquarium, Cannery Row, the supermarket, bike rentals and bike path, and restaurants was perfect for all of us. The location also provided very easy access to beautiful drives. And, Guita was very nice to work with.

Thank you for the great stay! We were actually so busy sightseeing that we mostly only slept here, but it was very comfortable and we greatly enjoyed the massage chair after a long day and enjoyed looking at all of your beautiful flowers!!

We stayed here with another couple for the weekend to attend the AT&T pro-am and it was the perfect spot. Close cab ride to the courses and walking distance to Cannery row, restaurants, grocery stores. House was very clean and had everything you may need to make it as if you were at your own home! In fact we wished it was our own home! Ha! The house was even better than the pictures on the site. Owners were amazing and very responsive, helpful and friendly. We can't wait for our next visit!
