Stayed here for one night as part of a longer trip throughout the Midlands. Tony was an excellent host and made us feel very welcome. Good breakfast, nice room. Would stay again

We had a nice stay, friendly staff, Hubert was really friendly and good company behind the bar!
We ate the first night there , and the food was good!
It was a bit quiet when we were there, but it was a grey week in October!
The bar area was lovely and we would like to go back maybe in a more populated month.

It was a great stay. It’s a lovely hotel, comfortable room with a spacious bathroom.
It would make a lovey romantic getaway.
Dinner and breakfast were great. I would highly recommend.

On arriving the staff made us feel at home straight away, we had booked in for a massage with Sarah who was absolutely amazing, felt like a new women! the food was delicious and the young barmaid Jennifer couldn’t do enough for us . would definitely recommend and will definitely be returning!

Really lovely place to rest and chill. Food, drink and service very good and exceptional good value.

Stayed for two nights during a business trip. From the outside, the building is beautiful, and the downstairs area has been done up lovely as well. However, the bedroom was quite run-down. I had requested a bathroom with a bath prior to my arrival, and while I did get one, it was not in a condition where I'd feel comfortable using it. The entire room needs a thorough refurbishment with attention to detail. On a positive note, the furniture was lovely and antique, adding a touch of charm. The hosts were lovely and attentive, making the stay more pleasant despite the room's condition.

Quirky hotel, full of character with lots of nooks and crannies. Very reasonably priced.
Staff from reception to bar and restaurant were great, as was the food; cannot recommend either highly enough. Cooked breakfast to order was great and thoroughly enjoyed dinner the night before.
Needs a few minor finishing touches like blinds not working, but will be very happy to stay again when we’re back this way.

Shower and window broken. Window fixed during stay. Noisy room by road.

The room was absolutely perfect, it was very large with gorgeous furniture and was extremely clean. The owner was delightful and very helpful and we could not fault the service at all. The breakfast was amazing, and all of the services were faultless. Would definitely recommend and will be staying again should we be in the area

I had a of work to do so didn’t eat the restaurant. In fact I got a takeaway delivered. In hindsight I regret that as the restaurant looked wonderful.
Definitely will return and use the cuisine.

An historic property which has undergone a disappointingly cheap refurbishment. That said, the place is absolutely spotless throughout & staff were incredibly friendly & kind.
Evening food in the bar was rather average. Breakfast was fine, hot food cooked to order.
The main thing to note is this:
This is not a boutique hotel. The photos don’t show how plastic/fake the bedroom furniture is, or how cheap the bathroom fixtures are. If management had actually spent on linens, furnishings, blackout blinds & soundproofing it could almost be boutique, but as it stands its exterior far outclasses its interior.

Lovely traditional hotel with big bedroom & bathroom in our ‘Junior suite’. Shuttered & curtained windows, 2 comfortable armchairs, comfortable bed & pillows, minibar, free bottled water. Bathroom had roll-top bath, as well as large shower cubicle & loo, basin & bidet. Room was a bit hot at night under duvet! Nice bar / breakfast room with good breakfast, cooked to order. Restaurant had good quality food, well presented. Plenty of free onsite parking. Highlight for us was the wonderful & great value Chinese massage in the hotel spa! This will certainly be our ‘go to’ place when we visit nearby family in the future.

Lovely staff and really excellent food in a very comfy place. Extremely quiet (midweek in Feb). Only complaint is the bedrooms don’t have numbers or names on the door - so don’t take a wrong turn after a glass or two..

Perfect overnight stay. Nicely appointed and comfortable rooms. Excellent food. Friendly and polite hosts. Ample parking and good WiFi.

Nice and clean. The food and service is excellent. Lovely staff. My only gripe was paid extra for a superior room and felt underwhelmed and disappointed.
The hotel wasn’t full yet put in a room in the attic with a p shaped bath with a standard over bath shower with low water pressure. I was hoping for a nicer/luxury bathroom. The room was ok but my expectations were probably higher because of the photos on the site.
The food was very filling and delicious. Scallops for starter, Chicken Skewer for Main and a chocolate & salted caramel soufflé for dessert.
The bar even stocked a great range of alcohol free alternatives which pleased me.
Breakfast was great too.

Stayed at the French Partrigde for one night as in the area for work.
The building is very nice and decor tasteful. Unfortunately the first room I was in had a faulty shower, so moved to the second room. Rooms were clean and comfortable & included a mini fridge. The the first room did have some marks on walls from where there had previously been mold.
I'd say the rooms were nice but overpriced for what they are & bathrooms could do with new appliances.
The restaurant was excellent, great service and food delicious. I'd return for the food but unlikey to use the hotel again at the current prices.
I stay in the area often so have good knowledge for comparison to other hotels.
