Guest Access:
Getting to us from NY depending on where you are, takes anywhere from 1 hour 15 min to 1 hour 45 min You will need to have a vehicle since this property is in a rural part of New Milford and taking an Uber to get around can get very costly. The nearest train station is in Danbury which is about 25 mins away, but the most convenient --because it is a direct line and does not require transferring--is Brewster, NY (about 30 minutes away). A cab from either of these places will probably run $50-$60, so usually not feasible. If you are coming from an airport on CT Limo, your stop in Danbury is at the Maron Hotel, where you might catch a $45-65 Uber to the house
The Neighborhood:
While the house in a more rual area of New Milford, there are lots of modern convenience that are just a few miles away on Route 7 such as Walmart, Home Goods, Hope Depot, TJ Maxx, Staples, Peach Wave, etc. Options for grocery stores are Stop & Shop, Big Y, and Aldi, and you can seek out your favorite libation at Classic Liquors or Nejame package store.
Activities around the area:
Spring to Fall (please check open and closed dates online as they may vary)
Elephant's Trunk Flea Market (one of the largest in New England) is only 8 minutes from the house! Every Sunday starting at 7am, there are acres of fun collectibles and antiques to explore. A treasure hunt, or just to enjoy the fresh air.
Farmer's Market in New Milford on Saturday mornings in the warmer months. Buy fresh produce and Goatboy Soaps (a local favorite)
Amazing hikes in the area Naromi Land Trust trails, local state parks including, Lover's Leap, Kent Falls, Mt. Tom, and Macedonia with access to the Appalachian Trail.
Pratt Nature Center, biking on Lake Waramaug,
Winter Options
Thunder Ridge: a family oriented starter slope is about 30 minutes away across the NYS border in Patterson, NY
Woodbury Ski Area a family resort, winter tubing and other fun activities...55 minutes from the house
Butternut in Great Barrington, MA is 1.5 hours away...a great family ski resort
Mohawk Mountain in Cornwall, CT is 45 minutes away
Getting Around:
You will need a vehicle as this house is in a rural part of CT.
Other Things to Note:

You can rent a boat from Gerard's or Echo Bay Marina down the road and enjoy water skiing, wakeboarding, or tubing on Candlewood Lake.
