About this house rental
The perfect home is on Stratton Mountain, five minutes from the front door to the slopes, and is an amazing location to take in the fall foliage or enjoy the fresh summer Vermont air. With four bedrooms and four bathrooms, this home offers a high-quality traditional Vermont experience, and has two family rooms, a game room, an inside hot tub, and a woodburning fireplace. Whether your group wants to stay in and relax or explore the best that Southern Vermont can offer, this home has you covered!
The Space
Four bedrooms and a family room with sofa bed are spread on three floors and can sleep up to 10, with an en-suite master bedroom on the upper floor that has an incredible view of the mountains and a second en-suite bedroom next to it. The remaining two bedrooms have easy access to a bathroom, and we provide fresh towels and linens for every stay.
On the main floor is a family room with a flat screen TV and a woodburning fireplace, and a well-stocked kitchen that has top end appliances and everything you need for a great cookout. The dining table is next to the kitchen and seats up to eight-ten people comfortably. The lower level (second) family room and a game room has a pool table and an inside hot tub that sits 7 people.
The entire house is covered by wi-fi with fiber speeds, which means the entire group can be online without worrying about lagging out.
Outside on the upper deck, enjoy gas grilling and dining at a 6 person table.
For those looking for private chefs, catering, grocery delivery, wine and beer tastings, in-house pampering, restaurant reservations, and more, we have a concierge service and would be happy to provide their contact information after a booking!
A Few Recommendations for your Stay
We like to provide our guests with some ideas on how to make the most of their precious vacation days, whether you plan on staying in and relaxing, or if you are looking for an adventure!
After waking up and putting on a pot of your favorite coffee (we have Keurig and a traditional drip coffee maker) or tea, we recommend enjoying your caffeine on the deck, taking in the fresh Vermont air. For our cold-weather guests, we also recommend lighting the woodburning fireplace, which will provide the home with a warmth that is incredible and hard to describe.
For those who are staying in, you can curl up with a good book in the family room on the main floor, or outside on the deck. We also recommend setting up a friendly pool table tournament, with bragging rights or a friendly wager that goes to the victor. Or maybe you just want to slow down and catch up on a movie you have been wanting to see.
For those who are going out, in winter, the answer is easy. A quick 5 minutes away is Stratton, which means you can get in two or three ski sessions a day, while recovering and refueling at the house in between. During ski season the shuttle stop is just in front of the house. Stratton is great in the warm season as well, with a golf course, hiking trails, and summer activities that you can find on their website. There is also fishing, once you purchase your license you will be provided with a ton of material by the State of Vermont to assist you in your angling adventure.
Then, as the sun sets, enjoy a glass of your favorite beverage, and spend some time in the hot tub, which is especially great in any weather.
The Neighborhood
Stratton Mountain is five minutes away, Bromley is 17 minutes away, and Mt. Snow is a half an hour away, three great mountains that provide plenty of slopes for those longer ski trips. You are also a very short distance away from Stratton Village, a cozy little mountain base town that has shops and a bit of a nightlife for those who like to go out and make someone else do the cooking. You can also purchase or repair ski and snowboard equipment, or get some winter clothing that you may need.
Bondville and Rawsonville are also only minutes away, and Jamaica, which has amazing restaurants, shops, and stores with everything you need is less than twenty minutes by car. Every Vermont small village has the standard amenities—great places to get a sandwich or pick up a few things for the refrigerator, small shops, and so on—while having its own unique flavor.
Over the mountains and through the woods is Manchester, one of Vermont’s best towns that has great eateries, lovely art galleries and shops, Lincoln’s family home and museums to visit, an off-road driving school (Land Rover Driving Experience), and schools that teach fishing and shooting techniques, perfect for the sportsmen and sportswomen in the group.
Local farms offer incredibly fresh and delicious produce, eggs, meats, cheeses, and baked goods, perfect for use in the great kitchen! Berry picking season is from June to October, and the blueberry festival usually runs from late July to early August. Perfect in salads, pies, or just as a snacking handful, with plenty of varieties, from super sweet to sour.
You can pair your produce purchases and meals with local wines and beers, either directly from the wineries and breweries in Vermont if you are willing to travel, or in the shops you can find in town. It is a great way to support the local economy, and make great gifts for a house/pet sitter, or for friends and family who were not able to make the trip.
We know you will absolutely love this home, its incredible views and pristine location and privacy!
