This was our first trip to bourbon country. The location was perfect. Great host that went above and and beyond with little extras. Spices were in cabinet and coffee filters for example. Thanks for making our family getaway great!

This was a family trip to the Bourbon Trail, and was an excellent location. It’s a beautiful home with great potential. While we greatly appreciated the appliances and amenities, the cost of those could have been better spent in the vein of privacy and comfort. The description of the beds misrepresented what was actually found. We have a 6’8” traveler, so a solid king bed is a necessity, and a day bed with a trundle is not that. Only after deep-diving into the listing did we realize that was the case. With very sheer curtains on some of the windows and no curtains at all on others, we felt like everything we were doing inside was on display for all to see. The master bath, while aesthetically pleasing, had several issues. The lack of A/C made a summer vacation miserable while in the bathroom. Beautiful shower, but horrible water pressure. Something has made its home behind one of the walls. Other upstairs bathroom has a blind that doesn’t go to the bottom of the window, so people can see in while using the bathroom or before or after showering. There is a gap on the bottom of the side door big enough for spiders and roaches to come in. With a shift in priorities, this could be an outstanding place to stay.

The house was great , it had everything we needed . Location was great , right out the door on Main St. which is Rt. 60 . Five minutes to I64 and 25 minutes to Louisville. A great coffee shop , The Paddock 5 minute walk away. A great central location to do the Bourbon Trail and go sight seeing..Wonderful front porch to sit on and enjoy a cocktail. The host was easy to reach . but we didn't need to . Absolutely loved it and yes we will rent it again !!!

My family and I came in to Shelbyville for a wedding and the house and its location was perfect for our needs. The front porch is just charming. Kitchen is wonderful. I would stay here again! The reason I gave four stars is the beds are not quite as listed. The master (which is amazing!) has a queen, not a king. The downstairs bedroom that is listed as a queen is a trundle that converts to two twins (maybe that is the king?). And the living room bed listed as a queen is a blowup mattress, not a sofa bed as one would think. My only complaints of cleanliness was dust and cobwebs in the corners of the rooms and lots of crumbs under the sofa cushions (which we only noticed because we assumed there was a sofa bed). This also would not be a good house for elderly guests. Lots of stairs. But overall, I would recommend and stay again if I make it back to Shelbyville.

Cute house in walking distance of downtown. Beds are a bit too firm for our liking. Living room was cozy but I had to clean the dining room windows of the evidence of previous canine guest. Host did not answer several inquiries during our stay. Loved Shelbyville but I’m not sure if I would stay again at this location or not.

We enjoyed our stay in Shelbyville. This house had plenty of room and charm for our 2 families. Hosts were quick to respond to our questions. We had a little bit of downtime on our last day and our kids had so much fun playing video games. It snowed on our last night, a prefect ending to a perfect trip!
