Our home has a very unique history. Our house used to be a two story chicken coop. In 1944, it was converted into a home. Unlike other homes in the area, it sits on the very back of a large lot, so there is no backyard, but a very large front yard. In 2018, we converted the house into an unconventional duplex. In 2022/23, we expanded the house out 22 feet to create more space for ourselves and our guests to enjoy.
We live on the ground floor and the Airbnb is the entire 2nd floor, including 3 large decks. Guests have a completely private entrance and there are no shared spaces. The space includes original hardwood floors and is furnished with stylish, comfortable decor and furniture.
Our guests love how we pay attention to details, including a welcome plate with goodies, usb ports and white noise machines in every bedroom, a well-stocked kitchen with an assortment of teas and coffee, and shampoo, conditioner and body wash in both bathrooms.
We provide a private workspace in the master bedroom. We also furnish a dedicated washer and dryer in the hallway, with detergent and bleach as well as an iron and ironing board.
The dining area features a handmade large dining table that can seat up to 12 people easily, great for playing games or gathering the entire group for a meal.
The space includes a large gathering area with enough comfortable seating for the entire group to relax and enjoy a show together.
Guests of all ages enjoy playing, air hockey, the Pac-Man arcade with 14 different games as well as our Star Wars pinball machine.
Guests can BBQ and hangout on one deck, take a dip in the hot tub on another deck, and unwind peacefully on yet another deck.
We provide additional blankets and pillows in the closets so everyone can be comfortable.
To ensure the hot tub is clean and ready to be used, we check the chemical and ph levels daily. We frequently rinse and/or change out the filter and replace tub water. Please don’t be alarmed if you see one of us on the deck doing maintenance on the tub.
If you experience any issues while using the hot tub, please notify us immediately. Potential issues include: excessive foam when jets are on, cloudy water, low water, or jet malfunctions. In many cases, all of these issues can be solved immediately, so please do not hesitate to contact us.
There is enough parking for up to 4 cars in a private driveway on the property.
We live in a quiet, safe neighborhood. There are several restaurants within walking distance. Other food and shopping amenities are within a 5-10 minute drive. Millcreek Common (the up and coming central hub of Millcreek) is only 7 minutes away. University of Utah, Vivint Smart Home Arena, Temple Square, Salt Palace Convention Center, and the Salt Lake Airport are all 15 minutes from our home. The South Towne Expo Center, USANA Amphitheater, and Sandy Amphitheater are 20 minutes away.
It's a short drive to hiking trails in Emigration, Millcreek, Big Cottonwood, and Little Cottonwood canyons.
Great location for a layover on the way to Yellowstone.
The nearest bus stops are a .5 mile walk away. We do not live close to TRAX. The freeway entrance is .3 mile from our home. If you're not renting a car, we recommend you using Uber since we aren't too far from downtown Salt Lake.
There is a grocery store within easy driving distance, which is convenient to stock up on groceries for your stay. The home is stocked with a coffee maker, crockpot, blender, pots and pans, coffee, tea, popcorn, oil, spices, iron and ironing board, two hair dryers, towels, toilet paper, paper towels, cleaning supplies, shampoo, body wash, conditioner and basic hygienic products.
We live on the first floor of the home. Noise does travel up to the second story sometimes. We try hard to keep our children's noise down. Our little dog Phoebe doesn't create much noise. We have put white noise machines in each bedroom to address this issue as well. If they still disturb you, please let us know and we will address this issue. Out of more than 100 stays, we have heard of noise issues only a few times.
The front yard (inside the gate), the garage, and bottom level of our home is for our private use.
We will be available throughout your stay if you need anything.

The house was great for staying in and cooking at home! Very well stocked kitchen, which is so rare in rentals. The game rooms was fun, and the hottub was spacious and clean. Great views from the porches as well! Restaurants walking distance. Lovely place to stay.

We had a great time for my daughters wedding. Place was clean and spacious I didn't realize that the owner and family lived on the lower level. Small children you could definitely hear them early in the morning. playing piano, dog barking, etc. But owners were very accommodating.

Overall this was a very good place to stay. The dining and family room spaces were great gathering areas. The decks and large hot tub were a big plus. It is a bit noisy from the family below, mainly in the dining and family rooms. The only other opportunity was a convenient place to store skis or bikes. All-in-all, this was a positive experience.
