Older yet comfortable motel. Grest front desk gal.

I was in a bind as the road had closed both ways , the reviews were pretty harsh but I didn’t find it to be bad at all. Sure. It’s old, The bathtub is pink, but it seemed clean and had everything I needed. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again.

Although this motel is older it was very clean and comfortable. The bed mattress was new and gave us a great night's sleep. New air conditioning gave us relief from the hot weather we were having during our stay. This motel was clean, safe and reasonably priced. Thank you.

Older motel, inside well kept, in good condition. Outside needs updating, parking lot needs repaving. Room17 did not have warm/hot water in the shower.

I had stayed in this motel before, and knew it was an older hotel. It was reasonable clean, with clean sheets and soft towels. But the wi-fi was AWFUL and in the four days I was there, three of them they didn't clean the room. I got ants into my trash can. I was also very dismayed at an additional, per-day-charge, for my dog because I had selected pet friendly on the reservation. For the additional $25 I would have taken my business to a better place.

Front desk lady was very sour and unfriendly.
Some things are really old and worn out and need replacement.

I had a great stay. The staff was extremely resposive to requests i made for more towels and toiletries.
The hotel is in a very peaceful location. I was pleased with how quiet it was during my stay.
The beds are comfy.
I recommend this hotel to anyone that needs to get a hotel in La Grande, Oregon

This is a small, single story, 40 year old motel with a Roadway Inn sign on it. It is NOT what you expect of a Roadway Inn.

The room was not clean the carpet we had to put down dog training pads in order to walk on the carpet. The bathroom floor was filthy was not washed or cleaned. Mattresses needed to be updated hard as rock.

Clean, comfortable. Good location

It wasn't horrible. But honestly I realized it's better to pay a little more for more comfort! The bed was so hard and uncomfortable! I could've just slept on the floor and it wouldn't have made a difference! I woke up so sore and it was just awful! The office was closed when we arrived because it was so late but it was also closed when we went to check out in the morning so I couldn't even talk to the staff so I have no clue how friendly they are or aren't and what kind of customer service they provide. Overall I feel that they could at least invest in better mattresses and pillows and it would be ok.

The staff was horrid

Location by a gas station made me feel unsafe and it was noisy. The top latch on the door was broken so I felt unsafe. The sink in the bathroom backed up with water. Very old and outdated inn.

Only hotel I've been in for a while that I intentionally chose not to take a shower. The room was clean, but the TV screen was smaller than the screen on my phone.

Door was a little hard to.open. Very nice otherwise.

The motel was very old and tired and the beds showed that in spades. Also, it burned to the ground the night we stayed there. We were lucky to get our 2 cats out before our room went up.

We arrived at the location to find the office closed and the motel uninhabited. Tried to call the telephone number listed, a recording stated that the number was temporarily out of order or disconnected. We ended up staying at a different hotel in town.

This was a basic clean hotel. It was close to the street so you could hear traffic but we didn’t mind that. We’d stay there again.

I have only ever written one other hotel/motel review, and I've traveled extensively, but this was the worst night of "sleep" ever and warrants warning people.
Pros:
The desk agent was very friendly.
For being such an old and not updated building, the room was very clean. Linens were soft!
There's a mini-fridge (didn't try it) and microwave.
Cons:
Sketchy location. The back row of rooms faces a bank of bushes and is very dark.
There are no vending machine on the property, and the tap water is gross. Chevron next door closes at 11pm. I was directed to vending machines at the motel down the street that was even more dark and creepy.
We were in room 28. The mattress closest to the door literally sank in half when I sat on it! It was like a leaking airbed. The other mattress sank some but not as bad. I had to move my kids who were already sleeping onto the other mattress, since they weigh less.
It was 40 degrees and rainy, so I turned on the baseboard heater. It's a dial without any markings other than off and on. At first I thought it wasn't working, but soon heat came blasting out. We all woke up an hour later dripping with sweat. It was like a sauna! I turned it way down and tried to go back to sleep. It didn't get any cooler. Eventually I turned it all the way off, but it still put out heat! By 6am, I plugged in the window a/c unit to the try to offset the heat, but it didn't help.
At bare minimum, being able to sleep is the purpose of a motel. We didn't get that!

Well cared for motel. Room was small but clean and comfortable. Bed was very comfortable. Staff was friendly and check in/out was painless.

The motel was at the far end of town but quit enough. I didn't feel as safe in that neighborhood at night as in other places I have stayed. The web said free breakfast but on arrival found out that was not true, even though I stayed somewhere else recently where they had a full breakfast. The room was in serious need of upgrading and did not appear to be clean, especially the carpet which needed replaced. Staff were friendly enough on check in and check out.

Its very old and uncomfortable and definitely not worth any money at all

The property and room were run down and unkept. Way below average, not a pleasant place to stay.
4.0 / 5.0
I had car troubles enroute to Seattle and needed a place to stay last minute. I was checked In very late by a pleasant woman who was very accommodating. The room was clean and quiet and as well as affordable.
2.0 / 5.0
There was no free breakfast. Not enough electrical outlets. Outlet in bathroom too high to reach. Toilet too small and too low. Entire motel should be remodeled.
1.5 / 5.0
Older hotel but staff was helpful in providing extension cords for our medical devices because there were limited electrical outlets.
0.5 / 5.0
This property is a old style motel with 1950 a tiny window ac/heater in the window. The is not an outlet in the bathroom besides the one on the tiny 40 watt wall light that I couldn’t reach. No blow dryer provided. No mention when checking in that room had no blow dryer. The blanket & bedspread was paper thin. The carpet had a strange smell. The bathroom pink tile & tub was held together with nasty dirty caulk. The worst was the toilet had a sanitized band, but had pee & toilet paper in it.

the parking was very tightly spaced
5.0 / 5.0
As in other reviews, this is an older hotel. The woman who checked us in was was very nice and joined us in joking back and forth. She saw the size of our truck and changed our room assignment to make parking easier for us. The room was very clean, cleaner than some more modern facilities in which we've stayed.
2.0 / 5.0
The hotel was ok, it was clean, bed was comfortable. I know I wasn't staying at a Hilton so my expectations weren't very hi. The only bummer was that the website advertised breakfast but there was none because if covid. Overall good place if you're just looking for a place to sleep.
