Beautiful setting - incredible water side dining. Friendly staff and generally a gorgeous hotel.
Lots of steps! But good for the exercise but obviously not for older people.

The view of this hotel is really amazing. There's also complimentary shuttle boat from hotel to the Kalkan downtown. The garden and infinity pool make the hotel extremely beautiful.
There's a man staff at the reception. He lied to us that we can choose our favorite table at the restaurant. When we got to the restaurant, the manager laughed at us and said it's impossible, which is ridiculous and awkward. And there is a disgusting dirty spot on the duvet. The hotel has no apology to those drama and the attitude is like they have nothing wrong.

Extensive grounds with accommodation dotted around within hillside olive groves. Wonderful location with terrific views across the bay. Boat shuttle into town was excellent but stopped at 6pm. However, taxi fare from town to hotel was inexpensive. Great breakfasts. We were in the Pool Room which was very private and had the largest private infinity pool I’ve seen. The delightful owner, Ms Ipek, was around at breakfast most mornings to keep an eye on things and to check guests were enjoying their stay.
We were there at the end of the season and that was evident as there were a few small signs that some maintenance was overdue after what was, obviously, a busy season. Cocktails disappointing for a hotel of this standard and food good but relatively expensive which meant we tended to have drinks and eat in town.

The served breakfast was very good. No problems there.
The hotel promises a lot but somehow didn't quite live up to expectation. Whilst the staff were excellent, it was obvious that the hotel was understaffed and those staff members present were under a great deal of pressure.
There also seemed to be a shortage of full size beach towels for use on sunbeds. This should not be an issue for a hotel of this standard. When we contacted the owner to confront her with this and other issues, she was somewhat indifferent.

beautiful location.
hotel is very tired and needs a serious update. very scruffy in places. staff were friendly but not well trained. no way it is a five star hotel any more. Friends of ours who own a property in Kalkan say that it is nothing like it was a few years ago.

The location was beautiful, peaceful and quite.
When we asked for a taxi for a 25min journey to patara beach the hostess at reception overcharged us for our taxi and tried to get £60 out of us. Not good service considering how much the hotel is, you would expect the hostess to claims best prices for everything rather than fobbing us off.
Apart from that is was a beautiful hotel, however due to inflation, Kalkan was very expensive to eat and drink out so make sure you take a lot with you as it was more expensive than the UK.

The amazing views from everywhere.
Having separate sunbathing decks per couple.
The menu has been updated and extended this year and all the food was excellent.
It’s a little oasis, very special, not too big allowing you to kick back and relax easily.
Service could be a bit haphazard at times, but all staff are very welcoming and friendly and when you stay there it seems to fit with the laid back ambience.

location fantastic, good staff
We stayed in a suite which was a beautiful room, however when we asked for feather pillows we didn’t get any until the 2nd night.
The public facilities were not cleaned often enough.

Breakfast was excellent! The location & views were incredible I’d love to come back!

Location hovering on the edge of the sea
Restaurant – lovely food at breakfast, lunch and dinner
Views
Sea/terraces/swimming area
Gorgeous pool
Genuine boutique hotel (13 rooms)
Pre trip comms – hotel never responded to our messages
Extra reception sign – the reception is located down off main path, not immediately obvious. If you miss it, it's a long walk back up
Bed covers too small for bed, and the bed squeaked/creaked quite a lot
Private room terrace - staff used it as short cut, so no privacy through large glass windows. Hotel could move the large plant dividing the 2 rooms to remove this short cut, but didn't. Despite a request for staff to stop, they continued to use this as a path to other rooms
Poor refill of coffee sachets and water – intermittent
Wifi was very slow. LTE available with telco providers

Everything about this place is awesome. The cliff house is a wonderful place to stay

Beautiful setting, small number of rooms so friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Delicious food and handy free sea taxi to Kalkan harbour.
There are 181 steep steps from reception to sea/sun bathing area so you need to be prepared to climb up and down. Infrequent drinks service around sun bathing areas and pool.

The hotel is absolutely gorgeous. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. We feel like we were in our own private villa because there was no one chasing or bothering us. The help was at arm's length but they always respect our privacy. The beach was more beautiful than its photos and very peaceful. Actually, no photos can do justice to the beauty of the hotel, flowers, trees, and even the stone stairs were soo pretty. I also need to mention the infinity pool which was always empty. I highly recommend you to visit it around sunset, the view is breathtaking. Thank you so much, everyone, especially Gizem to make our stay memorable! For sure, we will be back next year!!
We were staying in simple rooms and the minibar was outside of the room. It would be more convenient to have a mini fridge inside the room.

Hotel was great, clean, staff fantastic, Tamer in the restaurant was exceptionally good, and the food was excellent, only gripe was could not get a drink around the infinity pool the phone did not work and we told reception to get it fixed, great hotel water taxi into Kalkan fantastic views from rooms, lot of steps not for the elderly or infirm, would go back.

The view from our room was spectacular. The hotel offered a complimentary on-demand shuttle (by sea) from the hotel to Kalkan (last shuttle was at 18:30) although it did not run in rough sea conditions. A reasonable menu for lunch and dinner was offered although it did not change from one day to the next throughout our 8-day stay. (Of course one could go to Kalkan which has many restaurants - of varying standards and cruisine. In the evening, one would need a taxi to get back to the hotel - at a princely charge of 50 TRL)
The 100 steps from our room to the swimming and the further 80+steps to the restaurant. Most of these steps were uneven and where there were handrails, some were insecure and wobbly - one falling off. Many of the parasol umbrellas were damaged and all were difficult to raise. Little or no maintenance was evident overnight or indeed in the medium term.
Service in the restaurant was chaotic. Orders were delivered incorrectly and often were very long in coming. Even so the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel does offer the hire of its yacht - fine if you want privacy but very very expensive. Alternatively, Kalkan offers "public" day cruises for the twentieth of the price but unsurprisingly they provide no flexibility.

The staff were wonderful and very attentive. The location was beautiful and at every turn the hotel offered many different relaxation points overlooking the spectacular scenery. The lunch and dinner food selections were varied and the quality of the food was superb!
The breakfast menu was very limited and if you dislike eggs you will get board.

A place of serenity and perfect to sit back, enjoy the view, amazing food and lovely people. Villa Mahal truly is a hidden gem and the ideal place for couples to unwind and relax. The team is lovely and helpful - the 181 steps to heaven are steep but worth the climb…and the view! fantastic

Hotel, rooms and restaurant are very clean. It’s a great location, good quality was very good.
Reception staff require more training. We arrived late and the man behind reception was very unsure of everything. We booked taxis through reception that wouldn’t then arrive (likely reception forgot to book) and then when we would return to reception, it would be closed (at 7pm?!) and no one would answer the emergency numbers. Additionally, we were being contacted whilst out at dinner at 9-10pm at night regarding a query over a room charge and asked if we would return to sort it, despite knowing we would be returning and staying that night and could be dealt with in the morning.
The rooms are very clean, but extremely dated. For the price you pay I would have expected a little more. It was difficult to get to the toilet in a bathroom as you had to manoeuvre round the bathroom door. It was just all a little dated.
At breakfast drinks would take up to 30mins to arrive of some occasions, but otherwise the wait staff went above and beyond.
Little additions such as milk to the rooms would be super helpful, you cannot get a coffee with milk before 08:30 at this place.
In future, I’d stay in a nearby villa, and only visit the Mahal Beach Club.
