Activities
Trullo Olivia is located in a very rural position in the Itria Valley, surrounded by wonderful views, which can be admired especially in the amazing light of the sunset.
The large courtyard, which can accommodate up to three cars in the shade of the large hazel tree, directly overlooks a quiet country road, with practically no passing traffic, therefore very safe especially for families with small children.
One of the official bike routes that cross the Itria Valley passes through here. Other paths are present in the surrounding area, ideal for long, pleasant walks or jogging.
A short distance away is the 'Bosco Selva' Natural Oasis.

Puglia Pools, run by a British couple, takes care of Olivia's daily care. One of the team members meets all guests on arrival and there is someone available throughout the holiday should it be needed. They can help our guests with many different services, bike rentals, food and wine tours, cooking lessons and one of the most famous private chefs who will come to the Trullo and prepare a gourmet meal with highly recommended wine. Or, for a more relaxed occasion a chef will come and teach guests how to prepare and cook their own pizza in our oven - great fun.
The Surroundings
Just 5km from Trullo Olivia, is the city of Alberobello, a UNESCO heritage site and capital of the trulli region. Here, in addition to being able to visit the ancient trulli, there are many shops, bars, excellent restaurants, banks, pharmacies, supermarkets and all services.
Beyond Alberobello, the surroundings offer a series of delightful towns, with characteristic historical centers: within 10 km Locorotondo and Martina Franca and further away Cisternino and Ostuni (the 'white city').
Without forgetting Taranto, Matera and its famous 'Sassi' and the wonderful ancient caves dwellings; or Lecce, the Baroque capital.
For nature lovers, the beautiful karst caves in Castellana, the Bosco delle Pianelle hiking area in Martina Franca or the routes of the “ciclovia acquedotto pugliese” are of particular interest.
And for the little ones, the Zoo safari in Fasano, Acqua Splash Alberobello, Acquapark Egnazia.
The Adriatic coast, with its golden beaches, is about 30 minutes away by car: Savelletri, Torre Canne, Monopoli offer guests multiple solutions, both public and private.
Polignano a Mare, the most welcoming city in the world in 2023 according to Booking.com, white and perched on a cliff overlooking the sea, is 34km away.
Bari airport is 75km away and Brindisi airport is 76km away.
There are guides and lots of information in the trullo to assist our guests during their stay.

Trullo Olivia is the best of both worlds, cool and traditional in the original trullo and comfortable and modern in the kitchen and bedrooms. It has everything needed to entertain inside and a good bbq outside. Unforunately the pool was not functioning properly from the start of our stay and although useable initially we became wary of using it with no filtration. The problem was temporarily resolved on our last day with the kind intervention of the owners of the property. As mentioned in a previous review the bin situation is unusual, involving having to take black bags and recycling 4 kms to the rubbish collection point. Having to plan in your rubbish disposal while on holiday is something we have never encountered before, even when staying in remote properties. Overall we had a wonderful holiday, the surrounding towns are beautiful, the local restaurants excellent and the area of Puglia is beautiful, a good base to visit the amazing Alberobello but also close enough to the coast for a wonderful day by the sea.

We loved our stay in our very own trullo - with all the modern comforts! Valentina was so helpful and gracious. The house had everything we needed and is in a perfect location to see the local sights.

Fantastic Villa, great Pool. We had an amazing week, very private and great facilities, we got slightly obsessed with the Pizza Oven. Welcome from host rep was lovely, explained everything thoroughly and was bang on time when we were set to check out. I would thoroughly recommend a visit, just be careful following satnav , as we entered the lane from the wrong end and was very bumpy and narrow , much better to come from the main road side.

This is a beautiful property giving you the best of both worlds, the authentic trullo experience with the added comfort of generous sized bedrooms and a well equipped kitchen. The heated pool was fantastic and our 9yo spent far more time in it than out. Alberobello is a lovely town nearby and well worth a trip. All the restaurants we tried were great but the 2 stand outs for us were Gli Olivi and L'Arcata. Jan and Bob answered all questions promptly and honestly so all expectations were met. The property management company were also excellent. Would happily go back to this peaceful villa/trullo in a heartbeat. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

We stayed for 4 nights in September as a family of five - children aged 4 and 7, my husband and I and my Mum. Trullo Olivia was perfect for all of us with nice, spacious bedrooms, comfortable mattresses and plenty of extra pillows and duvets which came in handy as there was a cold snap while we were there! As it was the turn of the season, there was initially a problem with the central heating not working (probably the first time it had been turned on since winter), but Puglia Pools who manages the property got onto it straight away and someone fixed it the next day so we were nice and cosy. Unfortunately the pool heater was not able to counter the cold nights so the pool was very cold, invigorating for a quick dip but not much longer! We enjoyed a day just lounging by the pool and reading nonetheless. We really appreciated some of the extras at the trullo such as board games and puzzles that were great to play with the kids, as well as a great selection of DVDs and the ability to login to Netflix, Apple TV etc. Lovely when you've had a busy day and just want to chill! Trullo Olivia is in a gorgeous peaceful spot but only a short drive from Alberobello with lots to see and restaurants. We enjoyed exploring the area by day and ate in for a few nights - the pizza oven was a hit! One word of caution not to approach Trullo Olivia the 'backway' that Google Maps took us when we first arrived - continue on via Alberobello! We just scraped through and had to source some car polish in Locorotondo (certainly tested my Italian to find that!) to buff out scratches in the hire car!! I'd highly recommend this property.

The home is lovely and well appointed. Fun to actually stay in a Trulli home. Location is in close proximity to several local towns, all worth seeing.

We were looking forward to staying in a trullo on our first visit to Puglia. We were initially shocked to hear that we had to dispose of our own waste and were given details on how to do this. This was not mentioned in the details whatsoever. Having stayed at villas in other places, this of course was always done for us, as it should be with the maid service. We were informed we’d be charged €30 if we needed this service!! So that certainly didn’t start off our holiday in good spirit. The trullo was spacious enough and was very charming in its own way but we found that we needed to air the rooms that were in the old part regularly as there was a damp smell present. The duvet on the king bed was actually only a double and we decided to swap it with the one on the other king bed.. There were also dead scorpions on the glass ceiling of the small bathroom which still weren’t removed after the maids came to clean. There were cobwebs about on the ceilings that were there when we arrived also. I do not think the cleaning agency used did a good job at all. The outside area was nice but sunbeds unusable for me. No cushioning on them so very hard and uncomfortable. However, to be fair, I did ask the owners about this prior to travel but it was too late for them to get any cushioning ordered in time. The WiFi didnt extend to the outside which at times was frustrating but luckily we took a Bluetooth speaker so we could use that with the device inside picking up the WiFi. It was extremely remote and peaceful, however, and the kitchen was well stocked from every point of view. The bed was very comfortable once we’d changed the duvet? The agency was very disappointing in the fact I had to chase them up to ask what time they would be coming to clean after the first week and then they turned up earlier than they said in the end. They didn’t bother to come to collect the keys on the day of departure not did they contact us whatsoever prior to this. We had to leave the keys in the garden and had to contact them to tell them where we’d put them! All in all a very frustrating stay which we had to make the most of.
