About this apartment rental
Surrounded by nature preserves and farmland, tiny historic Milton is a hidden gem. The apartment is one flight up, over a detached garage (the garage is not available). The owner lives in the main house across the yard. The sunny living area is open plan with sliders to a small balcony. The efficiency kitchen has a fridge, microwave, hot plate, air fryer and toaster but there are great options, even in walking distance, for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
The bedroom has a comfortable queen bed, and the small office has a camping cot (not a futon, but cot wasn't an option). The bathroom includes a washer and dryer. There are tv's in the living room and bedroom with basic cable and streaming services. The apartment has wi-fi, but I find it isn't as strong as in a metropolitan area. The neighborhood is mostly quiet, but if you're really lucky, the ear-splitting siren will sound for the volunteer firemen, so you'll get the full small-town experience.
Almost anything you need is close by the apartment, so you have the option to remain in town for walkable restaurants, parks, shops and entertainment, including at the Milton Theater. For necessities, it's just a half-mile to the grocery and drug stores. Beer-lovers mecca Dogfish Head is one mile away. Some events include free summer concerts in the park, Historical Society walking tours, the Horseshoe crab and Shorebird festival, old-fashioned 4th of July celebration, garden tour, art walk, Zombiefest, Halloween in the Park, holiday house tour, Holly Fest, Christmas Parade, and St Patrick's Day Parade. Miltonians love Halloween and Christmas, and a lot of houses are decorated, so it is especially fun to walk around town at those times.
Milton's a lovely town for walking, but in 10 mins drive are Broadkill Beach, McCabe Nature Preserve, Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge, a couple of golf courses, a winery, Lavender Fields, and other attractions. Outside Milton, it's12 miles to lovely Lewes, 15 mi to beautiful Cape Henlopen State Park, 16 mi to check out the scene at the Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk. The area has tons of shopping, everything from chain store outlets to unique boutiques, a plethora of outstanding restaurants are on offer, and any recreation you'd expect on a beach vacation (and some you wouldn't, like Goat Joy).
If you're in the area for work, Milton is conveniently situated, about 20 mins to Beebe Healthcare in Lewes, Bayhealth Hospital Sussex Campus in Milford, Georgetown, or Millsboro.

Alex’s apartment was the cleanest apartment I have ever rented. Her attention to detail is unparalleled. Her tiny kitchen was perfectly stocked and fully function for my boys and I. We had a wonderful stay and thoroughly enjoyed our accommodations. Alex went above and beyond for my family! We will be returning in the future. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay!

The property was clean, with way more amenities than expected. Alex put a lot of thought into her property. The quietness at night was exceptional. The apartment was over a garage so there was no conflict if others had been staying downstairs. I enjoyed a bench Alex put outside, the quietness at night was pleasant. The community is lively for a small town with people circulating until dusk. I'd recommend a stay of at least 2 nights to feel the impact of this property and town.

We stayed for a weekend while visiting family nearby. We didn't get to spend much time there but the time that we did was relaxing and comfortable. Alex is a gracious host and it was great to meet mom too. The apartment is clean and we liked the decor. I definitely recommend this property, I would like to go back when we have more time to explore!

Alex,
We loved your place! All the comforts of home and near some of our favorite spots to visit, relax and enjoy the coast (Prime Hook, Cape Henlopen and Rehobeth Beach). Alex is an excllent host and was sure to explain all the great feaftures and amenities. Looking forward to coming back when the weather warms up and bringing the kayaks to explore the coastal waterways in DE.

Alex was an amazing host! Very communicative and made sure I had everything I could need for my stay. The place was very clean and quite homey. The kitchen was great for cooking and the added bonus of laundry. The town is small, quiet and very friendly. Plenty of good places to eat and very walkable. The service in Milton wasn’t great, and the WiFi and the apartment was touchy. But over all I had a great stay and would highly recommend!
