PETS
We love pets and pet owners. We have made our unit pet friendly (although we are sorry - no cats), but the community does restrict dogs to those under 40lbs. Please contact us first if you are planning on bringing your pooch. If you do decide to bring your furry family member, there is a non-refundable pet fee of $100 that will be sent through a few days prior to your arrival. We would appreciate it if you could keep them off the furniture and beds and please keep then on a leash AT ALL TIMES. This is a county ordinance as well as a community rule. Also, please pick up after your pets (there is a pet waste station).

Guests have access to entire home.

Davis Preserve is a quiet neighbourhood, but ideally located for exploring the nearby beaches and islands.

Restaurants
There are various restaurants within a short distance from this home. There is a great bar/restaurant just around the corner (just before the Sanibel Causeway) called the Bimini Bait Shack. Rest your cocktails on the aquarium bar and listen to the live bands playing from up above the bar! If you are into alligator meat, you may like to try the restaurant Gatorbites Tail & Ale. Our personal favorite on Fort Myers Beach is Doc Ford’s Rum Bar & Grill and the Dixie Fish Co next door is also great. The Smokin’ Oyster Brewery is a fun, casual place and for a locals hidden gem, try out the Heavenly Biscuit for breakfast. For a special treat, Azure is a fantastic French restaurant located on McGregor and Iona (bookings recommended).

Sanibel & Captiva islands
The Sanibel causeway is at the end of your road. Please be aware that it is a toll road ($6 each way) and you will need to pay cash. Traffic can be heavy during season, so allow time to explore these beautiful islands. Once across the causeway you will find the Visitor Information centre on your right. There are plenty of walking trails and bicycle paths, fishing, water sports and local art galleries. The Ding Darling wildlife reserve is one of the top coastal bird habitats and worth a visit. The Island Cow is legendary for its breakfasts and a fabulous place to watch the sunset with a cocktail and your toes in the sand is The Mucky Duck on Captiva.

Supermarkets
You will find a Publix supermarket, a Super Target and a Walmart, 5 minutes from your vacation home. There is also a fantastic local fresh seafood truck situated at the end of the road and a fruit and vegetable stall a little further down that also offers homemade guacamole and salsa!

Kids activities
The Smugglers Cove Mini-Golf, where you get to play mini-golf within a pirate ship, is a 10 minute drive from the house, towards Fort Myers Beach. And if you are felling brave, you can even feed the alligators.

Golf
The Shell Point Golf Course is just at the end of the road. It is a public course and is good for all levels.

During season (Jan-May), the “Beach-Trolley” drives back and forth from Summerlin Square to Fort Myers Beach about every 40 minutes and it costs 50 cents per person for a single ride. The Beach-Trolley and all other buses stop next to the Sunflower Cafe, which is the main bus-station. You can park your car there for free and take the trolley or the bus from there. The updated bus-schedule can be found online.

The closest bicycle rental is Bike Bistro, a 5-minute drive away on Summerlin Road. There are bike paths next to most roads and you can cycle to places like Fort Myers Beach, Bunche Beach or to Sanibel Island.

We overall enjoyed our stay. The inside was very clean, the kitchen is decently equipped, and all the beds were comfortable. Our only complaint is that the living room seems very under furnished for a three bedroom place. It’s a very small futon and two small chairs. At we had to bring dining room chairs into the living room so we could watch a movie together. The condo is also right next to the dumpster for the rest of the condos on the street, and was definitely not the cleanest. Overall, Great option for those just looking for a place to stay in between day trips!
