About this house rental
In this peaceful and charming Cincinnati suburb of St. Bernard, the historic 4-bedroom home of Sweet Escape is waiting to welcome you to your next grand adventure. Surrounded by a desirable blend of tree-lined streets, scenic parks, and local establishments, whatever type of mood you’re in will be well-met with exciting options. If you fancy yourself a bit of a history buff, you’re in luck as this home comes steeped in it! Built in 1910, it was originally a meeting place for a fraternal organization called the Order of United American Mechanics. The initials O.U.A.M. can still be seen engraved on the front of the building. Over the years, it became a thriving grocery store, candy store, bowling alley, and general gathering place for locals that kept this building full of vibrancy. The owners have lovingly restored this special place, keeping much of the original charm while transforming it into a welcoming gathering place for a new generation. We like to think the past proprietors and their customers would be happy to know it is once again a welcoming place to gather and enjoy.
Within walking distance of your front door is Wiedemann’s Brewery and Tap Room, featuring 42-taps, a to-die for menu, and live music every weekend. Once a funeral home, staff have even been known to take curious guests downstairs for a tour! Just 10 minutes from downtown Cincinnati, you’ll be within arm’s reach of the most popular attractions such as the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden and the scenic Ohio River along with the bustling colleges of Xavier University and the University of Cincinnati. Cross on over to the Kentucky side for even more excitement, where you can reserve your spot on one of many bourbon and distillery tours this area is famous for.
The home’s interior is a bright and cheerful retreat, featuring comfortable furnishings and sophisticated décor. Sink into the plush L-shaped sofa in the living room to stream a new movie or catch up on episodes of your favorite show on the smart TV. Highlights of the showstopper kitchen include exposed brick walls, stone countertops, and ample cabinetry for storing all your goodies. You may not even mind spending time here preparing meals on vacation! Enjoy your morning coffee at the café table for 2 or grab a casual bite at the counter on the high-top barstool seating for 5. The nearby dining room can accommodate 6 for formal meals or play host to a competitive family game night.

This is a really cool remodeled home. The rooms are a great size and the kids loved that they had their own bed. With 3 KING sized beds you can't go wrong.
We loved the exposed brick and original wood floor. There are doors ALL OVER but that made it fun. All of them are secure and locked and no one can go in or out of many of the doors.
The kitchen had everything that we needed and the kids enjoyed looking at the fun Cincinnati books the hosts left. Especially the one about the pigs.
We attended a Reds game and the drive was quick and easy to get to the ballpark. The neighborhood is safe and the parking on the street was fine.
I would highly recommend this house.
