About this house rental
Long before there were houses on The Peninsula, the Captain’s Cottage was the end of the line a farmhouse on a fruit orchard surrounded by aquatic pleasures. The farm is long gone, and the coastal holiday enclave of Quindalup has grown and evolved around it, but this charming historic beachside verandah home remains in the same position it has sat for near on 100 years. Renovated in contemporary beach styling with a nod to its original character, you can enjoy a salty beach holiday and meditate over simpler days gone by.
Captain’s Cottage is a single-level home that is perfect for families and comfortably sleeps six. The master suite is in its own secluded wing with an ensuite and private sun-drenched reading room with a study nook hidden away from the more energetic family zones. Couples will also love this home with 4 bedrooms in total, with even the minor bedrooms having double beds. Both main bedrooms have queen beds and French doors opening to surround verandas that wrap around the house, giving guests plenty of outdoor sitting areas to choose from. The 3rd and 4th bedrooms both have tri-bunks set up, with both single and double-bed options, which makes the home great for couples and families alike. Bedroom 3 has a second single bed as well as the tri-bunk option.
This is a house for relaxed seaside holidays. An outdoor shower is just the thing after a spell at the beach, and guests who amble home first can settle on the front veranda to watch the rest of the clan emerge from the tree-lined bush track across the road.
Cook up a hearty meal in the newly renovated kitchen and share some holiday stories with your cherished family and friends.
Families will appreciate the enclosed backyard and lawn area… great for containing little children who can play while being supervised through the kitchen window. The backyard also features an undercover alfresco and outdoor dining area just outside the kitchen door, so impromptu BBQs and meal times outdoors are a breeze.
In the cooler months, enjoy a glass of Margaret River cabernet and conversation with a loved-one fireside in the lounge, to the backdrop of the crackling embers or opt for the convenience of the central reverse cycle air-conditioning which can warm the entire home.
With its fruit trees, camellias, seaside location, and vintage styling, this house offers a fantastic holiday experience with a delightful touch of nostalgia.
GATHERINGS
Shire regulations allow holiday homes to be rented for accommodation purposes only and not as a function venue eg. for a party or wedding. Any unannounced additional guests or parties, functions or gatherings are not allowed. If this occurs, additional guests will be asked to vacate the rental property immediately, resulting in the forfeit of the entire bond and/or possible eviction with no refund.
NOISE RESTRICTIONS
Please be aware permanent residents live next door and noise MUST not become an issue. Noise complaints breach our terms and conditions and may result in the forfeit of your bond. Guests may be evicted and/or their security bond forfeited in full. The noise curfew is 10:00pm.
NOISE CONTROL DEVICE
We have a noise control device on the property, which simply tracks noise levels and notifies the host when a certain decibel has been reached over a sustained period of time. Similar to a smoke alarm, it has a sensor function only.
