About this house rental
Welcome to High House! This self-sustaining 2 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom villa was recently completed in early 2024. This contemporary home is situated on the highest elevation in all of Governor’s Harbour, and offers stunning ocean views overlooking French Leave Beach. High House is part of the distinguished Governors Harbour Collection, a select group of top-tier rentals in central Eleuthera chosen for their level of excellence in design, furnishings, provided amenities, and guest comfort.
The open-plan living area and kitchen at High House provide a spacious area to unwind, and relax, after days exploring the island or lazing at the beach. There is countertop seating at the kitchen island for 6, and modern kitchen appliances including fridge/freezer, microwave, electric stove, dishwasher, coffee maker, toaster, and blender. Reverse osmosis filtered drinking water faucet is provided to keep the level of single-use plastics on the island to a minimum.
Just behind the kitchen, there is a laundry room, with a full-size stackable washer and dryer, and powder room (half bath).
There are two bedrooms at High House. On the ground level, there is a King bedroom with ensuite bathroom and separate shower, complete with double vanities. On the upstairs level, the bedroom contains two twin beds that easily convert to a second King, on request, with plush mattress topper. There is a full, ‘Jack and Jill’ style en-suite attached. Both bathrooms have large shower stalls, complete with rainfall shower heads, and fixed, glass doors.
One of the lovely features of this island home includes a second, upstairs living room and bar, with additional coffee maker and wash-up area. Architecturally decorative wall tiles adorn the wall behind the bar area, and beautiful vaulted ceilings provide a sense of grandeur to this space. There is a large, 55” SMART TV in the comfortable seating area for catching up on favorite shows, as well as several board games.
Floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors open, with retractable screens, to sweeping views overlooking treetops, and the ocean below. An expansive 14x30 foot balcony just beyond the upstairs living space is the perfect spot for enjoying morning coffee or an evening cocktail with friends.
Additional amenities at High House include AC throughout, WIFI Internet (Starlink), a printer/scanner for business needs, a gas grill, beach towels, beach chairs & umbrella, and cooler bags. For parents traveling with infants and young toddlers, the property managers can arrange for a traveler crib/pack n' play and high-chair for your convenience.
We aim to provide our guests with an eco-friendly rental experience. High House uses rooftop solar panels with high efficiency Tesla batteries for power storage. Even when there are power outages on the island (and there sometimes are!), you can relax at your home-away-from-home, without worry! The house harvests rainwater directly into a 12,000 gallon storage tank which is then pressurized, and filtered, before entering the house. We use LED light bulbs to reduce energy consumption, and our bathroom amenities are plant based, and paraben free. Recycled grocery bags (required on Eleuthera) are kept in the laundry room for our guests.
An 8 minute walk down the hill leads to the world-famous French Leave Beach, a mile-long crescent of pink sand that has been ranked in the top 20 of the world. The village of Governor’s Harbour, where you will find grocery stores, liquor stores, several restaurants and cafes, a bank (with ATM services), gift shops, and more, is less than about a 8-10 minute down the other side of the hill.
The island of Eleuthera is famous for its 100 miles of spectacular, deserted beaches. The snorkeling, diving, and fishing on the island are world class. Boating, surfing, and other water sports are also popular. There is excellent sightseeing as well. Eleuthera has vast caves, cliffs, a bottomless ocean hole, many unique beaches, historic churches and 19th century homes, and small villages to explore.

The house is in a private location close to the beaches. It is clean, clean and organized. The furniture is new and clean. The flooring is new and my family and i didn't walk into the hone with shoes on as it wears and tears on the flooring. The views from the second floor was exceptional. We were greeted with delicious homemade bread.

Fantastic property. Make sure you have 4 wheel drive or high clearance 2wd. After that, it is an oasis. Furnishings, lighting, bedding, appliances... all top notch. Views fron upstairs deck of both Caribbean and Atlantic are unparalleled. Great hosts, and island of great people. Laundry, showers. Dishwasher, fridge.. all top grade. Minutes from some of the best beaches in the world. Recommended without reservation. Will be back!
