Experience the Midcoast Maine of yesteryear at this private coastal cottage, beautifully situated on six oceanfront acres in Rockport. Although the water is inaccessible down this steep and rocky shoreline, it's a position that grants you gorgeous views of Indian Island Lighthouse, the mouth of Rockport Harbor, and pristine Penobscot Bay.
This three-story home sits right off Route 1, with parking at the top of the hill and a pathway leading down to the entrance (please note this position is not suitable for guests with mobility issues). You'll have six acres of woods and 600 feet of oceanfront all to yourself, making it the perfect place to escape, relax, and gaze up at the Milky Way on crystal-clear nights. To head into town, choose between darling Rockport (two miles), Camden (three miles), and Rockland (five miles) close by.
Full of little quirks and a certain rustic charm, this home promises a classic Maine experience. Whether you're inside the house or outside on the multi-level deck, the oceanfront view seems to follow you at every turn.
Enjoy a well-equipped kitchen, windowside dining areas, and a gas grill outside to accent your summer meals. There are three bedrooms, including a primary suite, and a basement den which is accessible only via a set of outdoor stairs. Smart TVs, high-speed WiFi, and a private washer/dryer are provided as well.

The cottage on the coast was just lovely! The views from the deck and sunroom took our breath away. The cottage was cozy and comfortable, with everything that we needed for a break from the busy world. We left only to indulge in lobster, sailing, and the charming nearby towns. We highly recommend!

We absolutely loved this adorable home. Beautiful views of the water, the night sky, and the forest. Reasonably close to dozens of beautiful towns and beaches. Across the street from a farm fresh stand. What more could you ask for? Even had AC and a well appointed kitchen.

We LOVED our time at the Cottage on the Coast. The house was incredible and the kids wanted to stay in more than they wanted to go out. Time spent out of the deck looking over the ocean will be remembered forever.

This seaside cottage is the best place to enjoy quietness and peacefulness from the busyness of our lives. Our family enjoyed being together playing cards, grilling out, cooking together, and enjoying the beautiful surroundings of the Maine coast. Would highly recommend this place.
