About this house rental
Come enjoy our relaxing getaway situated in Jamestown on Conanicut Island which is a short drive (or foot ferry) to Newport or Narragansett activities and beaches. The house was build on the 1890s and has been in our family for five generations. It has been lovingly updated with a modern kitchen, a small full bathroom, and open floor plan downstairs. Three bedrooms, each with window AC units, are upstairs with new beds and bedding. The kids room has two twin beds plus a full size crib. The master has a king bed and the guest room has a queen bed. If you turn off the AC and open the windows you can hear the fog horn from Beavertail lighthouse on foggy nights.
The house has a sunny front porch with a table perfect for boardgames, cards, puzzles and art projects.
The house is a short walk to the local beach, Mackerel Cove, the nautical playground (with an amazing bakery across the street) and the shops and restaurants downtown. Our boys love the Jamestown Fire Department Museum to see the antique fire trucks.
The island offers a peaceful getaway. There are several working farms, which give the town a laid back rural feel, with all the culture of Newport and the big beaches of both Newport and Narragansett just a bridge away.
While we are delighted to share our family home with our renters, we do not permit gatherings at the home. We do this out of respect for our quiet neighborhood and to preserve our family home.

We rented the Island Home to accommodate extended family for a week in Jamestown in August. The location is ideal and the house was perfect for us. Lisa was an exceptional host - available to answer all of our questions. We would rent this house again.

We were looking for something last minute and stumbled across this. As a family, that's never been to Jamestown we were so pleasantly surprised. Everything you can do is about a half a mile from this house and it was perfect for a little kids. The house was incredibly clean and updated and Lisa was a great host and would respond almost immediately to any question I had. We would love to stay again!!

“I recently had the pleasure of staying at 73 Southwest Ave in Jamestown, RI, with my children and grandson, and it was nothing short of exceptional. The house is a haven for families, especially those with toddlers, featuring a crib and an abundance of toys and games that kept both kids and adults entertained. The expansive yard was perfect for grilling and outdoor activities.
Inside, the home boasts brand-new appliances and modern interior finishes, enhancing our overall experience. The neighborhood is charming, offering attractions like the firehouse museum, a massive playground, and a variety of delightful restaurants, shops, and bakeries. The house is ideally situated between the quaint town and a picturesque beach cove, making it the perfect spot for exploring all that Jamestown has to offer.
The air conditioning in the house was a lifesaver, providing much-needed relief during the warmer days. Lisa and Steve, the hosts, were incredibly nice and responsive, ensuring our stay was smooth and enjoyable. We can't wait to return to this gem of a property soon!”
