Spent 11 days, Staff was great, helpful, communication was easy, we don't speak Italian, great location, we walked everywhere. If you don't walk, access to the hotel is problematic since it sits on the piazza where the Parliament Building is also located, and autos are not allowed.
All in all, great location though.

The location was amazing. It is definitely the best and most important characteristic of the hotel. Close to many small authentic streets with many restaurants. In the center and close to all the main attractions. We walked everywhere and did not use public transportation or taxis at all!
The staff were very helpful and kind.
Our room was quite spacious, I think larger than most in the center of room. The bed and pillows were comfortable. Must mention there was no coffee maker in the room, there was a tea-pot. The bathroom was rather old, the shower small. But everything worked ok. The cleanliness was good but not amazing.
The door was not very good at noise isolation, we could hear very well if someone opened and closed a door near us, however we were in the end of the hallway, so doors closing was rather rare. If you are sensitive to noise- might be best to ask for a room at the end of the hall.
The window noise isolation was good- we hardly hear anything from the outside.
The breakfast was basic, but I think better than general in Rome. The coffee at breakfast was good.
I would stay here again!!

Great staff. Excellent location. Thin walls, so you hear others within the hotel. But it’s a very well located and clean place to stay, with friendly staff. Have stayed before and would go again in the future.

This is the second time we visited Rome and stayed at the Hotel Nazionale. Eleven years later we still found the hotel to be great, friendly, helpful and the quality has remained top. The hotel is clean and the staff work hard to keep everything nice.

Lots of room, great location. Staff booked us a private car to the airport which was very convenient. Biggest con was the complementary breakfast, which wasn’t good at all.

Hotel is in a good location. The staff were both friendly and very helpful. My room was different than what I booked, but they told me that prior to the change (this was done so that I could check in much earlier - which I very much appreciated). My only complaint was it was noisy in the room. Doors closing, people talking, a dog barking somewhere outside. Made it a little hard to sleep. My only other issue is with the lack of exiting directional signs. The building (at least where I stayed) was a bit of a maze and would be difficult to find the exit in the event of an emergency.

Nice hotel, very walkable to restaurants and all of the major sights in Rome. The Pantheon and Trevi Fountain are extremely close with the Colleseum and Roman Forum a little further out, but still walkable. Lots of options with the included breakfast. Giolitti for the best gelato in Rome is a must and steps away from the hotel.

Very nice hotel and property. Most of the staff were fantastic, especially Roberta. Another female staff member was not as friendly. I gave facilities a 4 because the AC didn't quite cool like I'd expect (certainly not like in N. America)

My career takes me all around the world reviewing hotels and staff. On day one, the front day staff was a very pleasant gentleman, who took the time to explain the layout and surrounding attractions. I have stayed at multiple hotels in Rome and this hotel front desk staff needs training, which I will layout in my upcoming blog. I would not recommend this hotel, nor would I ever patronize them again.
