Beautiful garden. Monkeys, squirrels and birds are frequent visitors. Nice little pool. Away from it all but close enough, just a few min by car to Santa Teresa center. You can hear the ocean and it is just 5 min walk to the closest beach. Big room with comfortable beds.
Breakfast could be better.

The room was so nice, with a big bathtub, A/C and great comfy bed! They also gave us candles to make it romantic :). The pool is great, situated in the central area. There is a billiard table too. We have seen a monkey in the trees next to the pool, there are squirels,... breakfast was always pleasant. We also cooked our food in the kitchen.
Knives in the kitchen are dull.

We loved the feel of being in a big family home, with a huge bedroom and private shower. Then you are just steps away from a magical set of pools, one shallow for little kids and the bigger one for us grown up kids.
It would be good to automate the lights around the pool when it gets dark, it was a challenge to find the light switch. I guess in pool lights might be too much of a challenge, but on the dream list.

The Havana Lodge was a lovely setting in the jungle and just across the road from the ocean. Yasmina and staff really looked after us with a big breakfast and kept our room clean and refreshed daily. We missed breakfast one day to visit the national reserve and Yasmina places some fruit in the fridge for us on our return which was a lovely gesture.
We saw howler monkeys across the road and many crabs on the beach. The walk across the road to the hotel when it rains, so keep your door closed or they will come and say hello in the night. We had two visitors in one night!
The road from Santa Teresa to the lodge is extremely bumpy, so a 4x4 is definitely needed so pleae bare this in mind. If you are walking it is a good 25 minutes.

Room very nicely decorated and it smelled really good. bed was huge and comfy. breakfast was very good and varied the two days we stayed.
pool table right in front of the room which makes it very noisy in the evening when you want to sleep early. does are basically wooden panels and have whole in between which makes it easy for animals (bugs and worms) to come in at night. This really should be fixed as we even had some in our bed.

I discovered this jungle beach gem when I was looking for a place to stay last minute. Wow did I get lucky! The place is about 20 min walking from the Main area that has lots of bars, hotels, and restaurants. I had no problem walking but would recommend a car if traveling with kids or a big group. There are also taxis!
I preferred this location being away from the Main Street as in the late night and morning Havana Lodge is very quiet and safe! During the day you can walk to the beach Mar Azul or hang out at their beautiful pool. In the evening there is an ocean side restaurant 5 min away! Best ceviche and paella! I recommend going before sunset!
The room was very clean with a comfy bed and couch! The AC is a bonus and if you wanna stay in there’s a flat screen tv. A kitchen is also provided! The staff is incredibly helpful and sweet! I hope to come back again!
Some minor details in the room. Some stain/burnt marks on the blanket. Broken lid on the garbage bin in bathroom.

The rooms are really nice and clean.
The common area is cool but a bit lonely.
The swimming pool
Considering the place (and the price) we were expecting a better breakfast.
The street to the lodge is horrible as well as the way to Malpais.
The credit card payment was not available.
