Beautiful hotel with lovely outdoor area. Lovely staff and enjoyed overall experience, would definitely visit again!

I would say the positives are the great staff and excellent breakfast. The room however was so small we were barely able to move and couldnt unpack at all during our stay. The garden in the back is an adorable touch. If i were to stay here a single person per room would be reasonable

Horrible experience. Upon arrival front desk wanted me to upgrade rooms for $1200 euro more. I declined. They put me on the ground floor and the room had the worst smell I have ever smelt. They said they were fully booked even tho they showed me the room they wanted me to upgrade to. They spent several hours trying to rid the smell. Smell was so strong I felt like I wanted to puke. They made me stay in the room that night and the next I was able to change rooms. I was also suppose to have a bottle of wine on arrival. They never put it in the room. I asked the next day and they still didn’t. On my last night at 10pm they offered to bring it finally. lol. A/C machine was not cold. The room was ok. Will never stay here or recommend to anybody visiting Venice.

The Excess Venice Boutique Hotel is situated in a quiet backwater on the banks of a canal. It’s within a 25 minute wander to St Mark’s Square. The hotel has a lovely garden, where you can eat breakfast in the summer months. Our room was large, very clean and had everything we needed. The staff were lovely and welcoming. I would highly recommend the hotel for a relaxing break in Venice.

My stay at Excess Venice was nothing short of delightful. Nestled right next to a serene canal in a peaceful and safe neighborhood, this hotel offers a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle. Upon arriving late at night, I was impressed by the warm welcome from the front desk staff. They were incredibly accommodating, quickly preparing a simple yet satisfying snack of toast and cheese for us.
The room was immaculate, echoing the overall cleanliness of the entire hotel. Mornings were a highlight with an exceptional breakfast spread featuring a wide array of fruits, breads, and other choices that cater to every taste.
Excess Venice combines the charm of its location with outstanding service, making it an ideal choice for anyone visiting Venice. I highly recommend this hotel for its comfort, cleanliness, and the exceptional service provided by the attentive staff.

Truthly the hotel is pretty nice, but undoubtedly overpriced.
To make things worse, we had a very unpleasant surprise at check-out. Upon arriving on our first night, the concierge Ibrahim was explaining to us a few things of the hotel and confirmed to us, three times, that breakfast was included.
Upon check-out we were faced with a very large bill, and they told us that unfortunately the staff had made a mistake in telling us it was included, and that we would need to pay for it.
160 euros for 4 days, which left a very sour taste in our mouths.
Overall not a bad hotel, but wouldn’t recommend due to already high price, but most importantly due to incompetence of staff

Nice hotel, friendly staff. Mini bar overpriced and a bit far out location wise if you want to be central. If you prefer the hustle and bustle this hotel isn’t for you.

A bit far from St Marco.
Check-in process was great and the gentleman was very professional.
All perfect except for checking out. I booked a pickup at the hotel and the lady insisted that I walked 10 min away over to the taxi port with heavy luggage to meet the driver there. How could I tell which driver and car? I ended up meeting the driver at the hotel but why did I have to fight for that?

In short we chose this hotel based on reviews as well as finding out that the area is quieter than say San Marco.
Note, the pictures of the rooms do not do justice. Our room and what we saw was much much better. We had a flexi option and were pleasantly surprised.
Location, convenient, quiet and what we wanted.
We stayed two days here and then two days near San Marco. Hence a calmer location was aimed for.
Staff, very pleasant, welcoming and helpful. A big thank you to Anna. For her suggestions.

This is a very overpriced hotel. For ~$500/night I expect some extra value beyond a pretty standard room. The room and common areas are average, not bad, just nothing special. The spa (an infrared sauna and a hot tub) is €120 extra for 3 hours access.
There were no hand towels in the men’s lobby bathroom (standard they say), the shower in the room spilled onto the floor to which the solution was more floor towels, nothing more to speak of other than the garden in the back which is nice, but nothing too special.
There is better value all around Venice.

The staff at Excess Venice were an absolute delight and went above and beyond making sure we made the best of our stay and had access to unique experiences, like helping book a private boat ride on the canals. The location was perfect. Like others have said, it’s close to main areas a traveler would want to see but on a quiet street so you can get out of the crowds. The overall ambiance was great as well. Would highly recommend.
