This was a great place to stay. Family owned, very friendly and caring. Would recomend to anybody heading to Ubud. Very quiet and peaceful area, while also not being too far from the town.

We loved our stay at Ubad Retreat. The staff were amazing and very helpful. Delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner options smoothies. The free shuttle was handy to get into Ubud city and drivers were always very prompt. The pool is lovely and the gardens are so peaceful. We stayed with our 5 month old baby and felt very safe/happy.

Now, Ubad Retreat Ubud has been building a new house in front of exsiting rooms. The accommodators have to pass through the narrow path or through the construction site until about this February.
Once I entered into the previous site, I could have a comfort and tranquil stay there except two points.
First, a stray dog stays at the site of restaurant, sometimes scratching their body when accommodators were having meals. By her scratching, some fleas could spread out, therefore, I think it isn't favourable in terms of keeping sanitation properly.
Second, I feel that mosquito coils to is not enough to set in the evening. Even though I put my body on the repellent, I have been bitten by some mosquitos while I was having dinner at the restaurant site.
Overall, I could have a wonderful stay, relaxing a room (better to set a desk for studying), swimming, and having breakfast and dinner, especially Nasi Campur and black rice pudding.
Thanks for providing me with a good opportunity to stay in a quiet atmosphere and with warm hospitality by all staffs!!!

We had a lovely stay at Ubad Retreat over the Christmas period. The staff were extremely helpful and we enjoyed the pool and dining hut facilities.

Hi people .
I am writing this to say that i had an a amazing time at UBAD RETREAT RESORT gusti and his family are an amazing people , on arrival you can clearly see a new additional biukding going up along with a restuarant and pool which wihile talking to Gusti is lookjng at next year April or May 2020 which is going to so beautiful to see again as this new part and already there part towards the back combine are going to be amazing. Also just for people out there that are thinking that they think they might be distubed by noise this is not the case here they are so repectful of peoples hoildays . While there Gusti and family found out that a couple ie the Female was her birthday so they started singing happy birthday to her she was so blowen away and unexpexted it . This is just how you are looked after.
The bedrooms next to none the best and to be honest the bed was the best really comfty out of my whole trip to bali this was the best ...
Cant wait to see you again Gusti as i said its going to be sooner than we think hahaha .

It was so different to anywhere we had stayed before and despite its rural location we really enjoyed our stay here. The place offers scooter hire which made it so easy to get around. The hotel organised other transport for us when needed and the local taxi drivers we had were great! The rooms were spacious, tidy and the beds were comfy. The food was so fresh and really good, we ate both breakfast and evening meal here throughout our stay. Nothing was ever too much trouble.

Too far from the airport. I like the fact that they had a shuttle running to Ubad city center three times a day. Just to have a inexpensive place to sleep, okay for the money.

Ubad Retreat is far from city center more or less 15 minute drive, but they offer free shuttle of 4 times a day to and from city center in a certain time and location of drop off and pick up. The staff can barely understand English except for the manager or owner. The place is spacious but more bugs at night in the room especially in the bathroom. Our first night at Ubad Retreat was a nightmare when the bathroom has dozens of cockroaches! Limited dishes in their menu, it would get you sick thinking what to eat if you stayed more than 3 days. No restaurants nearby, inaccessible and inconvenient to go to city center. They should offer more choices of food in their menu. The place is best for honeymooners or if you want confinement...but definitely NOT for youngsters, hipsters, beach buddies, party goers and adventure seeker.

Staff are pretty good and courteous, breakfast is till 12noon and they feed you well. You can rent bike at the retreat which is berth convienent give its remoteness to main city streets. The staff will arrange for local tours if requested and gave me good references for food and general travel. We booked Ubad retreat on the positive reviews it received in the past. On arrival, we were greeted by Gusti and all seemed well. Soon after, he left the building and unfortunately, that is where it all ended. On entering our “double delux” room which we booked and payed for 4 people including daily breakfast, (2 adults and 2 children), we were advised by the male personal that the room only catered for 1 double bed and single bed. We were told that an extra bed was an additional daily charge. He continued by also asking us to pay an extra daily breakfast charge for one of our young daughters, whom we had clearly payed for upfront, through Hotels.com. I advised him that my hardcopy and electronic booking did not support his claims for the additional charges. This attendees aggressive mannerisms towards my family and I warranted us to contact Hotels.com immediately, who in turn assisted us to move on to another hotel, minus a day’s room payment. We were happy with the support given and are now enjoying our stay in Bali.

We did find ourselves waking up in the night occasionally by the sound of animals nearby which was frustrating. The room had very good lighting and had comfortable beds. The shower was good for a while but if a second person was going to use it afterwards then the chances are that the shower would run cold. The breakfast provided was enjoyable and was similar to other eaterys nearby. The menu for mains and dinners wasn't vast however it was very affordable and did not lack in flavour.

Ubud was overly touristy, noisy and with traffic jam. I am glad I booked in this hotel because because it was just remote enough to be quiet. The swimming pool was very enjoyable. Rooms are big and clean.

I booked Ubad Retreat as recommended by the conference I was attending as a less expensive option.
Just a thought that I couldn’t have ended up at some chain hotel or anything less personable than The Ubad Retreat is makes me thankful even more to the family that ownes this place.
I will return for sure !

This little hideaway was just perfect for a quiet few days away from the bustle of Udbud, with a free shuttle into the town,the rooms are clean and tidy, the pool welcoming and Adi and staff were very friendly, we would definitely stay here again.

We loved Rhian place! Addi and his family’s made our stay so homeley, they even brought me a lemongrass and gingerbread tea when I was feeling sick. The pool is nice, there’s a shuttle to the ubud city centre 4 times/day so you’ve always fitness so much to do. I wish I was back there now!
Also the food you can order, like nasi goreng is really really nice.
Cooked to order breakfast is small but tasty.
Bed was lovely.
Only complaint was that you could heard wildlife and dogs from the room and you’re a little close to the other rooms so if they’re loud you will hear them
