Amazing!! Going back next year for my parents birthday ❤️

Staff were helpful, room was clean and comfortable, but the hotel is dated and breakfast was very old fashioned and not very good (think 1980s Blackpool!). The leisure facilities although clean could do with refurbishing, and you had to pay £8 for a robe, otherwise you were just provided with a towel. The only in-room amenities were kettle, coffee and biscuits and there were no toiletries other than a basic soap dispenser. The hotel is expensive for what it offers.

Disappointing that bottle water wasn't provided in the room, plastic glasses,
lack of toiletries, shower head broken.
Excessive car parking charges of £12 a night.

Great hotel in a good location. Nice food and friendly staff
The only (very minor) downsides are that the room could have done with being a tiny bit warmer, and the parking is tricky

It was a short overnight stay to revisit Chester. The staff were welcoming, the room was fine and the breakfast was good. We’d certainly consider using the hotel again.

Great location - Friendly & Helpful Staff - Good Breakfast - …only negative £12 per night car park because I didn’t book the hotel direct so any savings if any, lost!

Rooms a little dated, shower curtain not so clean, ordered 1 sandwich and a side order of chips at lunchtime in a empty bar, took about 25 mins to come after having to remind them. But saying that the, staff are friendly and the hotel is walking distant to shops, bars and restaurants.

Stayed here before and it was in need of refurb than. You pay for the spa but as we don’t use it it makes it expensive for the room. Shower over bath and really old toilet flush system, lighting from ‘80s. Bed like sleeping on a door far too hard including pillows. Good breakfast and lovely staff. £12 night parking to leave by midday a step too far!

The hotel was mega hot. Radiator was on full in room as well as bathroom. It was stifling. Had to open window and put aircon on. Where ever you went it was so warm. The breakfast choices wasn’t great. If you don’t like a full English there isn’t much else to choose.
Staff where friendly enough (in the main) especially the gentleman from Liverpool

Lovely hotel with great leisure facilities. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Only downside was due to catering for lots of guests breakfast was self service and not particularly hot

Aged, and needed an renovation. Beds are too soft and rooms are small. Toilet tap needs upgrade cos they are using 2 taps (hot and cold)^^^

The Mill is in a good location about a ten minute walk from the centre of Chester. It is comfortable, clean, and there is a good breakfast. Nice to watch the ducks in the canal over breakfast too. The room was a good size with a comfortable bed. There is a good sized car park. Overall a nice place to stay if visiting Chester.

Avoid room 341 or any in that line.Stayed here before: love the location; great pool and gym; plentiful breakfast; good staff; good pub. HOWEVER, why they put 2 adults for 6 nights in a completely inadequate room is beyond me. We booked a king bed double room. That was no king bed. They said it was a junior king, whatever that is. The bathroom was ridiculous. Miniscule sink, no outlet, no towel bar, no shelf for toiletries or toothbrush. Had to store things on the floor!. One crappy desk chair. We had to sidle by each other in the room. Maybe ok for a single person for a night. Asked for upgrade but said they were fully booked. Yet I saw availability on line. EVERY OTHER ROOM AROUND US WAS FINE!

Great weekend break away. Breakfast in the morning was spot on, great service by all members of staff. Use of the swimming pool and jacuzzi etc were included too which was nice.
Only things that let it down slightly is that our room (311) was right by the lift, so we heard that every time it went up and down. Also the WiFi seemed very patchy and did cut out from time to time.
Other than that couldn't fault it at all.

The location is a little tricky so do not rely on Google maps. It is on a very pretty canal and the breakfast looks out over this also. It was hard to control the temperature in the room, but given the time of year it was fine.
