Nice property. Room seemed rundown. About right for the price.

I hope this review helps with making decisions about staying at the Colibri.
First, the common area, rooms, and pool are super nice like the pictures. However, especially on weekends the music is very loud and goes until about 3 am. After multiple car alarms, sirens, and road noise of a big city, it starts to wear on the nerves. The locals and fire dept next door really get going at 7 am. So if you're 20-some and can function on 3 hours of sleep, you're golden. Unfortunately, I am not. The lack of sleep over the 8 day did anything but "recharge the battery". We needed quality sleep so badly that we stayed at the Casa Del Mar on the south part of the island even though we already had a room at the Colibri just to try and catch up on our sleep. We prefer the local culture vibe versus swanky all inclusive where don't experience as much, but next time we'll make different decisions.
I messaged the owner/manager about what nights to expect the music and to inquire about moving to a quieter room on the 1st floor, but no one ever responded. The help at the desk just told us they were full, even through Expedia showed availability. The walls are quarter inch drywall with no insulation, so with the thatch roof, you might as well be sleeping on the sidewalk. I can't speak for all the rooms, but DO NOT STAY IN SABAL! Stick with something on the 1st floor.
Also, at least with the Sabal room, the bathroom is not in the room. You have to walk across a stairwell to get to it and th

Exceeded my expectations! The room was large and had everything I needed. It was perfect for my stay while I was getting Scuba Certified at Cozumel Dive School which was walking distance (10 min walk). The staff were amazing and so pleasant. The pool and the grounds were kept super clean (staff cleaning every day). Would highly recommend.

Establishment accepted my booking and left me stranded upon arrival during the first week Cozumel opened back up to US tourists. Upon arrival, I wasn't even greeted with attentiveness, the employee opened the little window on the door and told me my reservation was not being honored and I was on my own to find last minute accommodation just two hours before the island's mandatory curfew of 7pm went into effect. So, not only was I planning a wonderful apartment style vacation where I could simply relax in peace and practice responsible social distancing after my community in Minneapolis was completely destroyed in the riots, but I was now being placed in a position whereas I would have been breaking the law and possibly jailed in Mexico due to curfew violation! This property is not ready to accept tourists in our current COVID travel climate, they should not be allowed to advertise on any booking platforms and I should receive some sort of monetary compensation for the money I was forced to pay to a hotel with no working wifi, no working television as an option for entertainment after curfew, no wonderful pool to relax by with a book to read, not to mention the excessive amount of mental and emotional stress forced upon me due to worrying about where I would go last minute in order to avoid breaking the curfew law. For someone desperately needing to get away for peace of mind, this property could have cared less about my safety and welfare. Truly, a nightmare!
