From the moment we got there, every member of staff we encountered was so friendly and welcoming. Lewis served our table on both nights we ate there and was really helpful. The choice and quality of food was great. Location was ideal for Meadowhall & Chatsworth. We would definitely recommend staying at Olde House Chesterfield

Staff very polite friendly and helpful - the hotels best asset by far. Functions can be a little noisy. Good breakfast choice - wide range of typical pub food available but mediocre quality. Hotel is quite remote from town centre and station - own transport or taxis required. TV in room had very poor sound. Overall it was good for three nights which was what we required

Had to change rooms after ours reeked of cigarette smoke...they'd left the windows open to air it out knowing it was toxic yet they still gave the room to us. Nothing like shlepping up and down floors and stairs back and forth to the lobby with luggage to sort it out. Not cool. They were nice about changing the room, but still it put it on us to have to ask for a new room. Second room was fine - comfortable beds, spacious, and basically clean. Dinner was a rip off - steak pie "filled" with steak actually had only 3 barely discernible tiny bits of meat that they had the nerve to call a meal - actually had to get more food because I was still hungry after eating what little was served. Asked if mine was mistakenly not filled and they said no, that's normal. Like maybe at this place but not anywhere else. Absolute rip off. Breakfast service felt like we were imposing on them...eggs were awful and runny yet crunchy...how are you a breakfast cook who can't make fried eggs...Anyway, I can't imagine I'd ever return here. Nothing else nearby so you're stuck there with what they offer.

I stayed 2 nights. Very convenient location just near the Pennines and Chatsworth House. My room was very spacious and the bathroom too. I had a good breakfast too, porridge. Good dinner options too. Great and friendly staff too. Accomodation was in separate building to the pub too, connected by a covered walkway. 👍
