On the first night, when my sister took the shower, the water was barely lukewarm. Very soon, it turned completed cold, and then the cold water also stopped flowing after a few minutes. My sister was in the shower with shampoo in her hairs! We told the host, but he cannot do anything and asked us to try again the next morning. We had to use the bottled water we purchased to brush our teeth, and we cannot flush the toilet. The cold water started trickling in the morning with no hot water. When we returned from our day trip the second day, I ask the host if we had hot water. He said yes. Then the same thing happened again. There was some hot water (with fluctuating temperatures) for a few minutes, once the hot water stopped flowing, the cold water also stop flowing after a few minutes. The host waived our laundry cost (110 soles, less than USD$30) to make this up, but the compensation was so trivial compared to the USD$300+ rent we had to pay for the two-room suite, considering it failed to provide the most essential water required for lodging. The place also has no AC or heat. We had to open the windows to cool the room to sleep, but it became too cold when it's near the sunrise. I got a sore throat and a cold when I woke up in the cold air. We were so disappointed with this disastrous experience.

Wonderful. Comfortable room, delicious breakfast. Windows were thin,.so a little noisy, but we embraced the sounds of Ollantaytambo. Blackout curtains would be the only suggested improvement.

After reading all these great reviews I was unpleasantly surprised when I saw our room . Very small, not well lit, kind of dirty …… but the topper was being misled by Jorge!!
Prior to booking I asked about heat in the room as we are from Florida in the U. S. And used to warm weather.
Jorge confirmed he had heat/ heater.
I booked. Upon check in he said he would bring the heater to the room. We started to head out for dinner and I inquired about the heater. Jorge shows me this tiny heater the size of my hand , and says it has it to be turned off every 20 minutes that is how long it can run!!
I said it was useless and I felt mislead. After dinner we found a place with heating , much larger room and cleaner . We checked out and did not spend the night. Our luggage was there for maybe 2 hours and we did not shower.
Jorge said he would issue a refund. But we have not received anything and email is now turned off on Orbitz so no way to contact him without calling.

Such a beautiful and peaceful guesthouse.
The room was soo spacious and provides you with the escape you truly seek after exploring all the major cities in Peru.
We decided to stop over in Ollantaytambo on our way back from Machu Picchu and it was the best decision we ever made. The location of this guesthouse was amazing and is about 5 mins walk away from the main Plaza.
The family in charge were soo charming and lovely. Truly made you feel at home.
The breakfast was also delicious. Amazing stay, so much soo that we kept recommending this place to anyone who asked us and wished to visit the town during the rest of our stay.
We recommend this guesthouse to anyone who wishes to visit Ollantaytambo

This is a beautiful guest house with big, clean rooms and views of the Incan ruins on the hills above the town. First rate hospitality and a sense that you’re one of the family.

Nothing exceptional about this place.
Pros: Great location, albeit not directly accessible by car (the stairs from the street to the house are steep). Jorge was friendly and helped us with bags and bag storage while we were away at Machu Picchu.
Cons:
Unfortunately, in the second room we stayed at after returning from Machu Picchu, we did not have hot water. Staff spent an hour trying to fix it and then blamed it on water pressure - except the cold water pressure was excellent. This left us without hot water the first night. The owner didnt even follow up to ask if we're still having issues or to apologize. The next day, i asked him to address the hot water issue and it turned out to be a quick fix, until one of us took a shower and we were left without hot water for the rest of our family. He never apologized for the inconvenience.

Simple and welcoming, Parwa is the perfect place for budget-conscious travellers to take their rest. It's an outstanding value for the price, giving you everything you need (but nothing you don't).
The beds are comfy and shampoo, towels, and soap are provided. Breakfast is simple, yet surprisingly delicious and includes a bowl of fresh and thoughtfully cut fruits; moist scrambled eggs; and oddly addictive loaves of flattened local bread with butter and marmelade.
Best of all, Jorge and his family are warm and hospitable, happy to help and yet never intrusive. Wishing that Parwa house becomes so busy that you have no more free time to teach me Spanish. En Peru, no había encontrado un alojamiento más agradable que el suyo.

Jorge was a fabulous host. He answered all our questions and was eager to assist when needed. He offered wonderful dinner suggestions and prepared a nice little breakfast for us each morning. Our room was lovely and cleaned daily. The sound from room to room did travel but I think that is typical based on our other accommodations in our time in Peru. We highly recommend you stay here. This lovely accommodation is close to everything yet far enough away from the square it is a peaceful stay.

Excised about the location and the great hospitality. The breakfast was exceeding every expectation from a small place like this. The size of the beds are not as expected. The promise: king bed was a queens size, the queen was a small double. The room should have a bathtub, and it did, unfortunately it could not be closed hence not filled with water. The shower had warm water for 2 persons, but as we were 4 it was slightly on the low side, as only receiving 2 towels for the family. The surroundings are fantastic - really worthwhile a visit - the experience will take you back to the middle age. Good luck!

We had an issue with our arrival but Jorge turned it around. If you are looking for a clean place to sleep in a home-like environment, this is your place. We like to support local businesses and this one was very good.

Fantastic service from Jorge. He woke up early one morning to make us breakfast and arranged a car for us.
The shower only had 2 settings though: cold or shooting off the back wall and onto the floor.

Absolutely wonderful stay. Jorge went out of his way to be helpful. Just super kind. From storing our luggage while we went to Machu Picchu for 3 days, to helping us carry multiple heavy bags up steps, to local recommendations. We can’t say enough. Great location and people. (A need breakfast was delish!!)

My wife and I spent 2 nights in Ollantaytombo at Parwa and enjoyed our stay. Jorge and his family are great hosts, the room was excellent. I'd highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Ollantaytombo.
Areas for improvement: room service, bathroom shower area has a curtain but the bathroom gets fully wet after a shower. A sliding door might help. Also, lunch boxes for tourists with early tours was not provided, I have seen other hotels do that.

Had an enjoyable stay at this family run guest house. The property is well located for exploring the historical streets of Ollantaytambo and is within a 10 minute walk to the main square or entrance to the ruins. It is a 15-20 minute walk to the train station or a moto taxi is available. Facility is immaculately clean and rooms have a rustic charm. The included breakfast consisted of fresh fruit, rolls and jam with cereal and eggs also available. Breakfast was small but tasty and sufficient to start our day. The owners are wonderful people who made us feel very welcome. They were very helpful during our stay. The only negative about was lack of sufficient hot water at times. But we would definitely stay at Parea Guest House again.

It was very much appreciated that the hotel host went extra mile to help me confirm my Inca Trail trek pickup with my tour provider in Cusco because my own phone would not be able to make direct call in Peru. It’s a very friendly place to stay.

Jorge created a welcoming atmosphere that made us feel immediately at home! The beds were comfortable, with cozy duvets. The location was ideal, and great value for money! Breakfast was great, with fresh warm bread, delicious fruit, juice, tea and coffee and scrambled eggs. We made great use of one of the common areas in the evening, enjoying a bottle of wine while planning our next day's adventures. An overall great stay and recommended, without hesitation!

Jorge was an amazing host and helped a lot with finding my bearings in the town. The place was really nice to stay in, and this includes not just the rooms but the common areas and the immediate surroundings. The location was quiet as well, but very close to the central square in a way that made transportation and exploration easy.
