About this apartment rental
Our recently renovated studio has a separate entrance, keypad lock for self check-in and 60 Mbps Wifi. Step through the door into an interior filled with light, original art and all the comforts of home. Welcoming touches include salt from our salt farm and air diffusers. Fix your own meals in the kitchenette or pickup takeout at dozens of restaurants blocks away.
We follow Airbnb’s enhanced cleaning protocol, which was developed with expert guidance. We live upstairs, close by if you need anything. Our studio has 6'4” ceilings and you may occasionally hear our footsteps upstairs.
The studio has a queen bed, a standing closet, a table for two and a kitchenette. It is accessible through its own entrance. The kitchenette includes a mini fridge/freezer, microwave, two burner stove, tea kettle, coffee press, pots & pans and place settings for two. There is a cozy bathroom with a shower. This space also includes wifi. The ceiling height is 6 feet 3 inches throughout the apartment and slightly less at the entry doorway. We live upstairs and you will likely hear the occasional footstep (it isn't a cottage in the woods).
Street parking is usually found within a block of the unit.
The studio has a private entrance to the right of our house. The unit has a keypad lock and you will have your own code for the duration of your stay. There are no common spaces.
We live upstairs and, if we aren't around for questions, are usually a text message away. We honor quiet time from 10:00 pm until 7:00 am and expect you to as well. Our neighbors who face the unit are sensitive to noise.
Stroll to a choice of dozens of proprietor-owned restaurants, along with bookstores and the historic Alameda Theater. Go half a mile to reach South Shore Center, with Trader Joe's, Safeway, and other big-brand outlets. The beach is a 15-minute walk.
San Francisco is accessible via a casual carpool 1 block away in the morning, the OSX bus 1 block away and the Fruitvale BART station, which is a short taxi ride or 20 minute walk. The Alameda Ferry Terminal is a short drive for hops over to San Francisco or Oakland's Jack London Square. An Uber or Lyft is never more than 5 minutes away.
The Oakland Airport is a 5 minute drive away. SFO takes about 40 minutes driving (depending on traffic) or 50 minutes on BART.
We have a dog, so please stay out of the backyard. There are many lovely places to sit outside and sip coffee or wine within 3-5 minutes walk from our home. While we work out of the house and our kids are in school during the weekdays, on weekends and during holidays we are usually home. Just text or call if you need us to be a little quieter.

You can not get a more perfect location in Alameda. Easy on street parking. Set up as a small studio apartment. Nice layout. Great communication with host. Two things to note for some.
1. You are staying in ground level walkout. Ceilings are seven feet which may not be as comfortable if you are tall.
2. You can clearly hear when the host is vacuuming which seemed to be every other day and also footsteps and the dog. Probably not room for additional sound proofing.
That said, I would absolutely recommend and plan to stay there again.
