About this lodge
This tranquil lodge with sprawling grounds is perched on Bear mountain in the Wichitas near the quaint, cobblestone town of Medicine Park. Bordering fort Sill and situated among several lakes (Lawtonka, Ellsworth, Elmer Thomas and Bath to name a few) the property operates primarily on renewable, solar powered energy and is wheelchair accessible. You are likely to see frolicking wildlife, nibbling on the native grasses and flowers around the property.
The views of Mount Scott are spectacular at any hour but especially at sunset. The sun disappears directly behind the mountain from the vantage point of the lodge.
Have a refreshing swim, fish or kayak in one of the picturesque, nearby lakes or attend one of Medicine Park's many year round festivals. You will love perusing the cobblestone shops while you take in the live music, often being played in and around town.
Dine at the historic Plantation Inn restaurant, featuring the best steak in the area. Look down upon medicine creek at Riverside Cafe while you feed the fish and turtles or look over the entirety of the town while you treat yourself to authentic mexican food at Tu Familia mexican restaurant up on the hill. It's only a scenic eight or nine mile drive around Lake Lawtonka to the old west town of Meers. As featured on many television programs, the world famous longhorn Meersburger is a delight you shouldn't leave the area without trying.
Of course, you could simply stay in and enjoy the solitude of mountain life. Nearby trailheads lead to well maintained trails or you can experience a brief, primitive hike directly behind the lodge which will also lead you to trails. When you make it the short distance to the top of bear mountain, you are rewarded with amazing, 360° mountain and lake views to the horizon.
Enjoy shuffleboard, beanbag toss, horseshoes or board games in the bunkhouse/gameroom. The kids will never want to leave it while you and yours relax in the great room by the fire or unwind on the balcony. Both have extraordinary views of the surrounding mountains.
Other things to do locally:
A few minutes from the Medicine Park Aquarium, Lakes Latonka and Elmer Thomas, Medicine Creek, Bath Lake, Mount Scott, Wichita Mountain Wildlife Preserve and Museum, the Holy City, Parallel Forest and so much more.
Medicine Park is at the entrance to the wildlife preserve so you can drive through and see American bison, LongHorn Steer, prairie dogs, birds of every sort and color, cactus, waterfalls and many other Flora and fauna.
Nightly rates include the first four people. A $15 per person per night extra guest fee will apply for all guests over the first four. We strive to go above and beyond when preparing the house so it will meet your standards!

Overall, this place worked perfect for our daughter graduating from basic training. The layout of the house is a little different but worked great when we’re all family. Everything was as expected. Would recommend us to anyone that needs a place to stay but prefers to be out of town.

The description is so accurate. Very cozy cabin! We had 14 total and we were all comfortable. The host is so friendly and welcoming. He responded to any of my messages very quickly. The views were spectacular and I honestly couldn’t have found a better place. We will be back. I highly recommend.

It's was very spacious property and comfortable for each members
of family. It perfectly accommodates a family with children and was stocked with everything we needed.
It's a beautiful property with an amazing view of the sun setting behind Mt. Scott. It's was very convenient that everything we wanted to do as a family was all close by. We also really enjoyed that trails were within walking distance of the cabin to see spectacular sunset and sunrise hiking views.
The shuffle board kept us entertained and was a fun new experience for us. It was also nice of Greg to have bord games available as well for family time.
Greg is an extremely nice host and communicates very well. He made us feel very welcome right from the start of our experience. It's was an all around wonderful experience and we all can't to wait to come back here for our next family vacation!!!!!!

Our stay in Medicine Park was memorable! Our hosts were warm and inviting! The Cabin was exactly as described and even better. The views were gorgeous. We spotted whitetail deer on the hillside. Ample room for large groups. Medicine Park is just crazy cool. As I wrote in Guest book, We Swam, We Ate and We Laughed!

From the great view of Mount Scott to the many amenities inside the cabin this is a great place to relax and enjoy your family and friends. The cabin is located between multiple lakes and is only a few miles from Medicine Park and Lawton. The layout of the cabin is fun with an open concept kitchen and family room with a great view. The kitchen has everything you need to cook and set a good table. The upstairs bedroom has a sitting room and a large outside balcony where you can relax and watch the stars. There is a game room with two sets of large bunk beds and plenty of room (my son and I had a table shuffleboard tournament). There are three well-appointed bathrooms with great towels. The beds are all comfortable with plenty of pillows. The cabin is extremely clean and is nicely decorated but not overdone. There is a nice open front porch and a large, enclosed screen porch in the back where you can sit and enjoy the breeze most of the day. One of the best things is every time we thought of something we needed we would find it. There is also lots of parking and no outside stairs. Finally, the property owner is very friendly and helpful. We look forward to coming back for another family outing.
