About this apartment rental
About this space
Tango-inspired paintings & vintage furnishings will remind you of the fabulous antique stores you'll find all over San Telmo.
This apartment is massive. Four bedrooms, three bathrooms, a huge modern kitchen, living room & dining room with French doors that open onto two balconies with a great view, this home is one entire floor of an aristocratic, turn-of-the-century residence.
And the location is exceptional, just one block from the stunning Mercado de San Telmo (now a fancy food court).
The space
San Telmo's elegant residences were built during Argentina's heyday in the early 1900s. Today, San Telmo is the artsy, bohemian quarter.
We have just bought new beds, which don't show yet in the photos (read the captions). There are two queen beds in the bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms. And in the bedroom you walk through to get to the other, we have bought two twin beds (100x200) which can be put together to form a king (200x200). In the last bedroom, there is a double bed.
Each bedroom has its own air conditioner.
There are three and a half bathrooms. The first has a full bath (toilet, sink, bidet, tub with shower) and attached it has a half bath (toilet and sink) for guests. The en-suite bathroom has a sink, toilet, bidet, tub, and separate shower. And the third bathroom is a European style efficiency wet room.
If you like the charm of antiques and days gone by, our location is perfect. We're on Peru Street, between Independencia and Estados Unidos. From the balconies, you can see the famous Mercado de San Telmo and the top of the San Pedro Telmo church near Plaza Dorrego.
The street fair on Sundays is two blocks away on Defensa. One block up is Chacabuco Street. We love the changes happening here. There's an awesome tapas and vermouth bar, a small theater for live music, a couple of fancy restaurants, a beautiful carniceria. And on our block is the city's most popular British pub and an amazing English-language bookstore where they even teach literature classes. It's the center of culture. We love it.
We'd be delighted to have you stay with us in Casa Bohemia!

Other things to note
Please LOOK AT THE PHOTOS and CAPTIONS closely, you must go through one bedroom to get to the master suite.
Our building is over 100 years old. It's stunning, but all old buildings have some challenges. Windows and doors do not seal as well as in newer places, so there's always some dust. Even just after dusting, there is some dust. If you do not like vintage spaces that have charm and quirks, please consider looking for a place in either Puerto Madero or Palermo as I do not think San Telmo will be the right fit for you.
One more thing to keep in mind is that you may hear people on the floors above you and below you, especially if the windows are open. But we have air conditioning in every bedroom, so you can close the windows and sleep well.
