Only that some chalets were quite a long walk uphill to get to them so you needed to be fit but otherwise a lovely place to stay and staff so helpful and couldn’t do enough for you

Wonderful stay at SFE Resort. Nice cabins with Eco style set up. Very friendly and helpful staff. Cose proximity to the Orangatans and Sun Bears. Breakfast fair/okay, whilst dinner options better. Would recommend.

Our recent stay was fabulous. The staff could not do enough to make us comfortable. It was great that the restaurant opened on our first day thus making everything so convenient. Food was superb. Super high ratings from us!

It was a nice place, but not high end. Wifi was bad. People were very nice. Far from things except two attractions. They wanted to add a significant fee upon check in for a third person even though we booked for three. They graciously did not charge us after a discussion.

Staff were so friendly and welcoming! Food was amazing. Great location - walking/riding distance to orangutan and sun bear conservation centre.

Lovely place to stay near the rehabilitation centres and the rainforest discovery centre. Friendly staff. Good food. Great quality accommodation away from the hustle and bustle of a town. Highly recommend

Very friendly and accommodating staff, beautiful location. There were two issues, firstly the bed was uncomfortable, however when we brought it to their attention they quickly offered us another chalet and secondly the pool that is advertised is just a wading pool. In general we found it overpriced for what you got.

The location is good, the food and service at their cafe are excellent. However, despite emailing them 6 weeks earlier to specify that we want a room nearest to the entrance of the resort, the staff claim that they did not have my booking. We were given a room with a leaking roof, making the bed wet.The bed was too small for 2 people. We slept very very poorly as a result. The path to our room was poorly lit and muddy, slippery. Although I enjoyed the food at the resort, I will not recommend this place as it is a gamble with the rooms. You do not know the condition of your room until you arrive.

FAB location and resort. Friendly and comfy
Please get filters on villa taps to get rid of some many plastic bottles.
Needs to be more environmentally friendly

I booked this property because the location as is was close to the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Center and I did not read anything else about this Resort.
When I arrived I could not believe what I was seeing . The place was like a Paradise in the middle of the Rainforest. So green and so beautiful!!
You can spend at least an hour walking around some paths and trails with amazing landscaping, natural ponds and swimming pools.
The cabins are away from each and surrounded by trees and plants so one can not have more privacy.
The rooms well furnished, comfortable bed, good air conditioner, coffee maker, complimentary water and a nice large balcony with a coffee table with chairs. The room was cleaned meticulously every day to the last detail.
The bathroom with all the amenities, clean towels that looked like new, hot water and two showers ( one also outdoor)
The Breakfast Buffet (included in the rate) was excellent.
Fresh juice and fruit, coffee, tea, toast, cakes, and eggs with other items cooked to order.
The Restaurant open from early in the morning until 10:30 pm, it is very large, with indoor and outdoor tables, amazing view and the menu with good selections and very reasonably priced. I dined everyday and I was never disappointed.
The staff was more than polite and friendly. Always smiling, they went out of their way trying to help me with my many questions.
Thank you to the managers and owners for having so a nice place. They made my stay one hard to forget.

Beautiful cabin equipped with air con. Very clean and the enclosed outdoor shower is great too. However, the last cabin was kind eerie as it was next to the forest and wild vegetation and the whole place was quiet because of the few quests.Staff was friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was peaceful and relaxing.Very near to the Orang Utan sanctuary.

I stayed at Sepilok Forest Edge Resort on both the front and back end of my Sabah wildlife photography trip and found it to be exceptional. I'm not one to give complements freely and have traveled extensively. The outstanding staff, beautiful rooms, superior food and extensive grounds make this place an exceptional value. Would very highly suggest you stay here if in Sepilok for one or several nights. My review might sound boring but you will love this place!!!

I had a very nice stay at Sepilok Forest Edge Resort. The environment is relaxing, and it is very close to the orangutan sanctuary and other attractions. The staff at the resort are excellent. They are all very friendly and extremely helpful. I would recommend.

I couldn’t have been happier to have picked this stay while I took time to settle and work a little. This was my first experience staying in a dorm room that co-existed within a resort and what a lovely bonus! While the restaurant wi-fi was tempermental, the staff, facility and service made up for it all. Thank you for making me feel part of the family!

Nice wooden chalet nestled near the forest. Interesting outdoor shower. Could do better with brighter lights in the washroom. About 10min walk to the main road

We stayed 1 night at Gomantong villa. Its very spacious and enough for 5 of us.
I like the environment and feeling living in the jungle and also it luxurious decoration.
Breakfast is also good. I don’t have much time to spend our time here. I will stay couple of days here if i have chance to come here again.
Location, is not to far from main attraction Sepilok Orang Utan rehabilitations centre and Sub Bear rehabilitations centre. Only 10-15 minutes walking. Not a big deal.
There are few resort nearer than this resort. Don’t know about others.

The best part about this hotel is the restaurants, the staff there are excellent and the food is extremely good. However everything else wasn’t quite right.
The room was basic as expected but it wasn’t clean. There was an old soap bar left in the bathroom, smelly cushions left on the bed and one single, very flat pillow.
Small things like the cleanliness of the room, pool towels that looked like old (dirty) rags and no support or suggestions about what’s best to do in the local area could be easily improved.
We had a nice stay here but left feeling disappointed following very positive reviews we had read online.

The rooms are really clean and bathrooms lovely with stone sinks.
Food in the restaurant is really delicious and the staff are very friendly.
Would recommend staying here the night before a river trip.
