The Space:
This welcoming bungalow has a garden that looks like it’s straight from the Med. On sunny days, bask in the sunshine and listen to gentle sounds of nature all around. An alfresco dining set means you can enjoy your meals out here, too. Whether it’s a simple cream tea or a fully-fledged dinner using produce from the local area. When the weather turns, head inside for cosy evenings around the TV or playing board games in the conservatory.
Simple, yet homely, there’s everything you need inside. Comfortable beds, spacious rooms and even a desk area for those day’s when you’re working. When it comes to sleeping, a king-size master bedroom and twin bedroom offers a quiet, peaceful place to rest your head.
Guest Access:
Guests will have full access to the bungalow and garden.
The Neighborhood:
The bungalow is located in a quiet cul-de-sac on the outskirts of Ashburton, Devon. The vibrant town sits on the edge of Dartmoor and has become more and more popular over the years thanks to its growing mix of boutique shops, antique emporiums and fine eateries. And if that wasn’t enough, you’re also just a stones throw from Totnes, which is also brimming with a fantastic array of independent shops and restaurants. Plus, an artisan market that takes place every Friday and Saturday.
This pocket of Devon is a real foodie hotspot, with the likes of Riverford Organic Farm on your doorstep. And the vast estate of Dartington is also a must-see with its excellent arts programme, blossoming community and picturesque walks.
Its proximity to Dartmoor means the home is perfect for nature and hikers alike. Enjoy hikes of all distances and difficulties from Tor to Tor, passing wild Dartmoor ponies and ancient woodland en route. Or, if you’re after water-side rambles follow the River Dart south to Dartmouth. This bustling sailing town hosts a regatta every summer, with races and festivities taking over the town. Plus the rest of the South Devon coastline is within easy reach. Find more local tips and tricks in our Guest Guide, which is available upon booking.
Getting Around:
Due to the remote nature of Dartmoor, we recommend bringing a car for your stay. There is private parking for up to 2 vehicles. For those that come without a vehicle, the nearest train station is in Totnes which is around a 20 minute drive away. Taxis are available in Totnes and there are fairly frequent bus routes traversing the local area.
Other Things to Note:
The property is a single level home once inside, however, there is a small step to access the property from outside.
