Decent location for reaching restaurants, close to bus stop, good blackout curtains, helpful hosts. Has a small refrigerator.
Stinky scratchy towels, moldy looking bathroom ceiling, sinking uneven bed, very high traffic area. Entrance ceiling looked caved in from water problems. Weird electric shower.
4.3
Cleanliness and comfortable. The Lothian bus route was within few steps which you may take for Royal mile or Ocean terminal.
The shower are didn’t had soap holders.
4.3
Friendly host good location to catch bus to city about 20mins, small room & bathroom. Ok for a night or two. On busy road, front room can be a bit noisy with window open

I had a wonderful stay at this lodge with my family of 5. The room was immaculate and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was amazing as well. I highly recommend this lodge for anyone looking for a peaceful and relaxing getaway nearby the city.
Everything was perfect

Good amenities and extras such as bathroom cosmetics, mini fridge had water which is great 👍
Bed was small for a double and not very comfy, shower was temperamental and scolded my partners back as suddenly went from warm to extremely hot, other times went stone cold, no other water in the room being used at the time.

The room was nice and clean, and had full set of bedding and toiletries, and also the fridge and the teakettle. The staff always responded quickly and after we asked, even put the iron and the ironing board in our room before we arrived. The bus stop for the bus from the Waverley station is close to the hotel.

host greeted us by saying we should have booked directly because we could have had a better rate and included breakfast. not sure of the point of that. why didn’t the host simply offer breakfast?

Very cold. despite central heating on low the room was freezing. Had to sleep in our clothes.

Decent
Heating not so strong, my lady felt cold. No toothpaste in the room. Small TV, not sure if it even had Netflix.

Thomas and Anjoe are excellent hosts.
4.3
Both Thomas and Anjoe were extremely helpful, the facilities were superb and the guest house itself was located at a place where it’s easy to commute to and from
Not many restaurants nearby but that’s not Acer Lodge’s fault

Well presented, clean, comfortable bed, all facilities you could need, easy access to the city via public transport.
All good.

Close to the airport - this was the reason for choosing this property, and it was a good choice. No noise from the road, despite the tremendous traffic. Large room. Bathroom new and clean. Nice park with castle at walking distance (but careful with the roads, this is not a good area for pedestrians). A very convenient parking place right outside the main door.
Warm temperature outside (first day of September), but freezing cold inside (no heating until the outside temperature reached 10°C - therefore no heating before 3-4 am). Places where to eat a bit far (if you want to walk there). A suggestion: do not walk along the road just in front of the house, as the traffic is fast and scaring. Use the roads on the back of the place, slightly uphill (quiet and nice).

Felt like home.
The hosts were amazing.
Stayed in 3 different hotels during this trip. This one was the best .
4.3
Very easy access, instructions were delivered with a lot of time in advance and they worked perfectly.
House was cozy (best shower head ever lol).
Some parts of the house might be a bit out of maintenance, nothing big or deal breaker, but something that was noticeable.
4.3
The facilities are very good, the hygiene is excellent and the staff clean the rooms daily and put fresh milk in the fridge. The breakfast options are varied and the hotel is very close to the bus stop. Check in is also easy and self check in saves waiting time.
There is nothing unsatisfactory about it.
4.3
The owners Thomas and Anjoe are very nice and helpful hosts. Breakfast was well prepared. Everything was very clean and well maintained. A very nice traditional Scottish B&B.
The mattress was a little firm for my personal taste.
