Prima voor Santa Cruz

Nely was een schat. Ontbijt simpel maar prima, kun je vragen voor 5$ extra. Fietsen vrij te gebruiken wat nodig is gezien te locatie, taxi kost ook maar 1,5$. Ze zit ook vol met tips, handig als je beter Spaans spreekt dan wij. En nog een puppy! Kamer heeft ook een eigen koelkast en kitchenette, eigen watertap!

Kamer had wel schoner gekund, geen nieuw wc papier gekregen, bij hevige regen loopt het water onder de deur door in kamer 2. Water in de douche werd niet echt heet. Airco is luid en je kunt de fan speed niet aanpassen.

Felt like home

Nely is super friendly and a great host. Breakfast was always amazing with both regular and vegetarian options; had daily fresh fruit and tried a lot of local foods including delicious yuca tortillas and maduro empanadas. Booked a last minute trip and she helped me find activities for each day. She lent me a bike and snorkeling gear. I can't wait to come back!

All in all a very nice stay for my first 3 nights in the Galapagos Islands.

After the confusion of checking in. My stay was really nice. The daughter of the property owner was very nice and helpful. She drove me into town and showed me around a bit. She suggested places to eat and things to do. Breakfast was good and varied. There was bottled water available to fill my water bottle for the day or make coffee, tea or hot cocoa in the evening. The gardens in the courtyard were really nice. There were bikes to use for free. I didn't end up using one, but there were plenty to choose from.

A little better communication. When I arrived, there was a handyman working on the property. They let me in and showed me which room to take. The key was in the door. I understood that someone would be by to check me in. I waited quite a while but no one came, so I texted the property via Booking.com and they came right away. I couldn't figure out the Air Conditioning. (there was a remote control, that I didn't notice) The location is a bit far from the main area, but I knew that from the maps. On the first morning, I wasn't sure how the breakfast worked. I messaged the property and they responded right away and came and prepared breakfast.

Best host in Puerto Ayora

I cannot stress how important is a good host and what influence they have on your entire vacation. Nelyza was simply a delight! She was caring, informative, friendly, and more than willing to help at all times. The place is located a bit further up town, about 15-20 min walk from the promenade and center, and Nelyza chased me time and time again to give me a scooter ride even when I said it was not necessary she insisted, and it was of course very helpful at times, especially when I had early morning tours to embark on. She had asked me to join her for coffee, she offered to take me around the island and was extremely helpful with holding my luggage for free when I was spending a week in another island. The room was very very large and spacious. There was a huge mineral water bottle and it meant I didn't spend my money on water. The room was cleaned daily, I had lots of towels. A Great homestay away from home.

The only one thing that I could say that was not perfect was the water temperature, it was sometimes medium and sometimes chilly but honestly I didn't mind it with all the extras.

Very welcoming and hospitable. Soon after checking in, Nelyza brought me a fruit bowl. The room was quite spacious and had a water jug for me to fill up my water bottle. Nelyza's daughter took me by motorbike to a couple places I wanted to go to.

Just keep in mind that showers tend to not be hot, but I think that's the case in most places.

Really helpful host - like having a personal travel agent

Exceptionally helpful host (Nely) for advice amd tours. It was like having our own travel agent! Part of the problem on the Galapagos is there is too much choice - so this was invaluable: She suggested which tour companies to use and how much they would accept (eg $30 when company initially suggested $50 and all other gringos paid $35+) She even managed to buy us next day inter-island ferry tickets when everyone we spoke to at the port said they'd sold out (she managed to find someone with returns) Organised a taxi tour for 1/2 rate we'd have paid for official tour & at time to suit us. Told us of last minute offers being circulated by tour companies. Free bikes available were of decent quality and sizes. Had selection of large sun hats to borrow. Think had free masks/snorkels (we brought our own) Galapagos is expensive, but Nely helped us feel we were not over-paying.

It is towards the edge of town, so a bit of a walk - but town felt safer than anywhere else in S.America - and when didn't wa lk, could use their free bikes (or local taxis $1.50)

The host is just so happy and lovely. She does not speak English.

Unfortunately as much as I loved the place and it’s host, the facilities were not clean. I’m sure that it was a once off thing, but if they raise the cleanliness this place would be super!

Lovely host, good breakfast, unique accomadation.

We had a very pleasant stay. Nelyza was a great host who made us feel very much like home and helped us a lot with information about the island, good advices & recommendations. Her place is very unique and allowed a feeling of being part of the community. Overall a very memorable nice stay.

We were a family of five so the rooms where a bit crowded, but we knew that bevor and the rooms could have been a bit more clean.

Best accommodation in the Galapagos!

The owner is the best! She goes above and beyond to make you feel comfortable and is very accommodating. Lots of open air common space with seating and lots of plants-it was a lovely environment. The breakfast was delicious and the use of the snorkeling equipment and bicycles were also very nice. They also have a really cute dog named Luna. I want to go back already!

The host was really nice. She took care of me well. I could sleep well thanks to the good AC. Breakfast was amazing. It was a bit far from the downtown, but if you like walking, it is not a matter.

It was a wonderful experience overall. The space is very comfortable and welcoming with bright colors, beautiful plants

The rooms are very cheery and colorful! They let in a lot of light. There is a communal kitchen that is located outside among a beautiful garden which embraces the property. As for the owners Nelyza and her partner are beyond kind. She took me on a tour around town, and helped me order vegan food at a local restaurant. Then in the evening we played board games with other guests. Her partner drove me himself to the dock when I was leaving the island. It was a pleasant experience overall.

The only critiques I have are that the property is a bit farther from town about a 10-15 minute walk, depending on your desired destination. No one was at the property when I arrived and I was unsure which room I was the one I booked. After about an hour Nelyza arrived and showed me around the property. The last critique, would be that when I arrived the water in the room and in the comunal kitchen was not working. However, when I brought up the issue it was quickly solved.

Great hostel with lovely host

Great sized room with good facilities (small kitchen area, air conditioning, hot shower, comfortable bed). Nelly the host is lovely and willing to help you with anything you might need. Lots of food for breakfast. Some people complain that it's far from the main area but it's only a 20 minute walk, or borrow one of the many free bicycles to cycle in 5mins.

It's a bit confusing when you arrive as you just have to put your hand through the hole in the big blue gate to open the bolt lock yourself then wander around a bit to find someone - could do with a doorbell! Other than that it was great :)

Nelyza is such a sweetheart and helps you with everything. It feels like a home away from home. She even took my to see some places around the island and let me keep my things at her place while I was visiting other island.

Apart from the internet (which is bad all over the islands, but Nelyza always tried to help) and the black bugs everywhere (also for all the galapagos), the kitchen corner in the room could be cleaner. But overall it didnt spoil the experience.

This truly is a lovely place to stay. The owners are fantastic and really go out of their way to make you feel welcome. The rooms are good and spacious and there are bikes and snorkelling equipment available to use. In my book a better place to stay than a posh hotel by far.

Great stay !

The owners are incredibly nice and helpful. The place is good, comfortable. It is not far from the center by bike, which is freely accessible (or a taxi would be $1.50 if you prefer). Overall great experience.

Hosts were very friendly.

Not quite as advertised, and the place was a bit “tired”. The bicycles for use were only marginally usable at best. When I stayed, the en-suite kitchens were not usable but there was a common kitchen shared with the family.

Nelly is an amazing host and will make you feel like family. Her husband and dog are great as well. The hostel itself is located a bit outside the center, but still easily and quickly reached by foot. If you need anything or would like to do certain activities, Nelly and Claudio are happy to help. Nelly is the best, and I had an excellent stay at her very excellent, Nelyza's Suites

Nelly is an incredible host. She took care of my trip from check-in to check-out. If you read her other reviews, all other travelers feel the same. She is an excellent host and will do everything in her power to make sure your stay is a great one. The apartment was exactly as advertised: spacious, great bathroom, and may offerings on the TV. Bikes are free to rent, and electric bikes are available for a fee smaller than most rental companies on the island. Nelly also helped send my salvoconducto to enter the island, and worked diligently to get it to me as soon as she can. She also helped me book a Snorkel tour upon arrival for a great deal, and gave me a ride on her scooter to the launch point. She also showed me a great restaurant, and gave me a mini tour after. Nelly is the best! The suites are also great.

It is a bit far from the docks/port, so know this is if you have to make a early departure from one of the boats leaving to another island. Not an issue in distance and fee if you need a taxi though. I only paid $1.50.

Nelly is such a great host, you couldn't find a better one. She took care of us like we were her children. The apartments have all you need and Nelly is the good soul on top of it.
