What an amazing experience! The rooms are beautiful - and in fact exceptional. The staff is friendly, attentive and professional. The food is good and the location really a bucket-list item for everyone who loves nature. The field guides are very knowledgeable. The staff also made my husband's birthday extra special with some really nice touches. Oh - and they even showed the rugby and treated all guests with Sprinbokkies and snacks - what a great South African touch! I would really recommend Outpost to anyone - it is a very special and memorable experience. Thank you very much! (The only reason for the 9 - it should actually be a 9.8 - is because of the lack of aircon).
The rooms open up with and has ceiling fans but certainly with temperatures in the high 30s and 40s, a portable aircon (at least in one area) is necessary.

The setting is absolutely awesome! The staff are very friendly and go out of their way to know that you are looked after and having the best time. The rooms are beautiful, the bed really comfortable, the game drives with Ray very informative and scenic. All round we had a wonderful stay at Pel's Post (The Outpost)

We chose The Outpost Lodge for an impromptu 30th anniversary getaway. We have always wanted to visit the northernmost part of the Kruger to see how it compares to the rest of the park.
The Outpost is situated on a hill overlooking the Luvuvhu River and the view from our room was breath-taking. The contemporary open plan rooms have retractable remote-controlled blinds, that offer uninterrupted views of the river when open. It was indeed a once-in-a-lifetime experience to sleep with no walls between you and the wilderness. On the second night, we were treated to elephants trumpeting just outside our room!
The lodge is situated in a private concession. The staff mainly consists of members of the Makuleke tribe. We were treated like royalty and no effort was spared to make our stay a memorable one. It is evident that the staff are extremely well trained, but also that they love what they do. Our room was immaculately clean, the food was 5-star and wherever we went, we were greeted with friendly smiles.
The fauna, flora and vistas in this part of the Kruger is by far the most impressive of the whole park. We were fortunate enough to visit both the Lanner Gorge and the Fever Forest on game drives. This is not the area of the Kruger you should go to if you want to see the big five, as you probably wonāt, but that said, there is still a decent amount of wildlife to see. We saw elephant, zebra, nyala, impala, baboons, kudu and hippo.
Not a single thing!

Where to start? The Outpost Lodge exceeded all expectations for my birthday weekend. The lodge is located in the most beautiful wilderness area of Maluleke Concession within the Kruger National Park. The rooms, one of the most unique and beautiful we have ever seen. Allowing guests to have a special nature experience with itās canvas āwallsā opening with a touch of a button.
The service received by staff - impeccable! From start to finish we were treated with the utmost professionalism & care. Barbara & Charmaine were wonderful at check-in and ensured that each need was tended to throughout our stay.
Winnie, Lionah, Pam, Nompie served all drinks & meals with a smile. Extra special attention was given to dietary requirements & preferences. The food - EXCEPTIONAL!
I booked a massage with Eunice and was NOT dissapointed! Her cheerful personality & years of experience was clearly visible.
We were so impressed by our guide & bird specialist, Samuel Japaneās knowlegde & passion for nature. His story was so inspiring & we were so happy to receive a printed book of his beautiful testimony.
Warren, the head ranger, checked in frequently to see how our stay was going. Thank you for your kindness.
Everyone made my birthday extra special, from signs with āhappy birthdayā and a gluten-free birthday cake to singing & something special on our bed. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
I wish I could thank more staff members by name - the chef, team in the kitchen, cleaning ladies & maintenance staff included. The Outpost Lodge is the perfect luxury getaway & we hope to visit again soon in the future.

The breakfast was very nice and fresh and had variety. The game drive was amazing, had a drive through bar station next to the road and proceeded to the picnic with some sundowners viewing the Limpopo river was to die for!!!
The rooms are beautifully decorated and the views from your bed or the balcony overlooking the river are to die for.
It was my husband's birthday and the staff went all out to make his day special, not to mention the beautiful personalised cake they baked for him.
Our stay felt too short, (lol) next time we will add more days.

We had the most amazing time at the Outpost. The staff was accommodating, the room and the view was unlike anything we had ever seen, the drives were also a lot of fun. We definitely recommend the place!

The tranquility, the walk ways, the pool, clean and comfortable rooms. The food was great and very good wine selection.
The WiFi connection is a big problem because although we are on holiday it is important to get in touch with other people. The bar area needs some upgrade, more comfortable couches at the living area.
