Very warm and helpful staff especially on the door and in the lobby. Very welcome help with taking luggage upstairs and putting it into storage - very rare these days. The reception sent immediate help when I need to adjust the air conditioing in the room.
The only problem was that the lobby is too cold! too much AC, otherwise everythings was great. The building is a little sombre, but the furnishings suit and the atmosphere is elegant.

The room was comfortable, and the staff were really friendly! Especially the cleaner on level 4 who was super helpful to us :)
We weren’t able to get our preferred bed setup for our room as requested on Booking.com so had to upgrade to another room type, but it worked out pretty well in the end anyway

Great location at the Bund. The staff (especially Matthew) was very friendly and helpful.
The sassy suite was clean and spacious. The terrace has a view to the skyline. Highly recommended

Location is excellent...few minutes walk to the Bund.
Odor in the elevators and passages. Floor of the room was dirty.

The location is next to The Bund, I could enjoy the night view. Sometimes you could also see a ferry passing away the river.
Actually I prefer to have a lot of choices for breakfast. It seems have few there.

I got a free upgrade and ended up living in a huge suit with 2 bathrooms and 2 rooms.
The breakfast assortment is very limited

Very well maintained for a historical building. Very unique. The view from the terrace was unforgettable. Many thanks for the staff for suggesting the upgrade!

old fashion feeling, 20/30s style. nice room and great terrace, pity we could not enjoy because it was very cold! Anyway cool location and also the staff was very kind.
the breakfast was fine, but limited choices of western food.

Staff was very accomodating. The suite was large with a very large outdoor terrace that had a fantastic Bund view. My suggestions for the suite it to have some kind of rug in the sitting room, it is also a bit dark because there were limited outlets to plug a lamp into. On the terrace, there could be additional seating, as it is very large. The hotel is historic and the renovation has been done nicely to maintain the heritage architecture. Location is wonderful for the Bund. Only slight issue is that the elevator to the upper floors is slow and there is only one. The shower had amazing pressure! I would definetly recommend to others and will likley stay again in the near future.
Decor is a bit dated, sitting room was a bit dark.

The Art Deco style of the property was fun!
We thought we had booked the one next to the Fairmont but we didn’t…… not the hotels fault but ours

Great location to The Bund and overall quite clean.
Location is great. Rooms, hallways and layout are very dark and need some updating. We had the feeling that the staff and other guests were not used to, or comfortable with western guests, didn't feel comfortable here, and we travel a lot!

The best hotel I have ever stayed in! The location, staff, food and a big room are totally perfect! You even have your own small coffee machine in the room. The staff were extremely accommodating and allowed us to check in early at like 10am. Thank you for helping me and my friend to have an amazing trip in Shanghai.

Good location, just a 1-minute walk from the Bund and a 5-minute walk from the main shopping area (Nanjing Road). The staff had excellent English and the hotel was very clean.
Whilst the breakfast had a mix of Western and Chinese food, the choice of Western food was sometimes better suited for lunch or dinner time as it included nuggets and chips.

Great room and beautiful old-style hotel. Bed super comfy and quiet room, which is rare. Close to many metros/shopping streets/tourist sights. Great place to enjoy shanghai.
Only the attitude of the staff at check-in. We were a little early, but they were really unpleasant and not helpful about it. A little rude.

The doormen were amazingly helpful and friendly (got taxis for me, arranged for a car for a day-long business trip). Always a smile. Breakfast is good, selection of Chinese and Western. The location is very convenient.
room service would've been nice. When travelling alone, I often prefer to eat in my room and get some work done. Not an optionhere.

Large and clean bathroom. Good location, Walking distance to the Bund, underground railway station. With many eating choices
The view of our room was not quite good
