Access to a laundry, great morning coffee
3.9
Great location. Very clean. Staff helpful. Complimentary coffee each morning. Nice to have sink in room. Liked bathrobes and slippers.
Old fashioned key system. Really need 2 keys to lock up when both go for a shower.

Quaint, older hotel, very comfy beds
Expensive for what you got

The location is really good, nice and friendly staff, good ambience and the esthetic appearance of the rooms and shower rooms. They have free coffee in the morning from 7-10am. You also get a discount at their restaurant too,
Missing amenities, we only had one pair of bedroom slippers, we didnt have bathroom slippers too as we stayed in a shared bathroom.

Very quiet at night.
Very clean bathroom.
Beds are hard and uncomfortable. Pillows are uncomfortable too.

Clean, had character, wasn’t a big corporate business.
Was a little noisy when a someone came into the next room in the middle of the night. Thin walls.
3.9
Great location. Downtown. Lots of restaurants and train station close by.
The bed was very tiny. The room smelled strongly of food from the restaurant below, probably because the kitchen exhaust was on the same side as the windows at the back. Also, the hallway light shone through the window above the door, which was quite annoying while trying to sleep. We didn't feel that the reception was helpful or took our complaints seriously.

Excellent location. This was just a short one night stay before leaving on a cruise the next day so walked to the cruise port (and then visited the steam clock) the night before. We were able to get a basic idea about Vancouver (enough to want to come again for a longer stay) and location was great to have lots of choices for meals, pick up some drug store items we forgot, etc. We had a room with our own bathroom (at our age, we get up in the night) but the bathroom down the hall seemed nice and I wouldn't mind trying that if wanted to save a few $. We would stay here again!
Some reviews talked about bagels for breakfast. They only had coffee and tea. Not a deal breaker but just an FYI.
Our room had it's own bathroom and a double bed. It was VERY small (tight even for the double bed). It worked for us for only one night but not sure about it if staying for several days.

Great location in centre of the city.
Old world atmosphere.Vey quiet.
Rooms a little small.
3.9
Location and the pub attached.
Bed needs to be replaced.

Cleanliness & condition of hotel, stuff was polite and attentive.
Bed in my room was a little small for me & a little stiff.

Historic property, located in the centre of downtown Vancouver. Adjacent to innumerable conveniences, attractions and transit options. Clean, friendly, free parking, comfortable bed and impressively quiet, despite the proximity to many late venues and two arenas (easy walking distance). Kingston is “just” enough of a step away from late night noises. Restaurant/bar downstairs is convenient and staff are friendly/attentive.
Main doors (street access) are locked at 10pm. This, as a solo female guest, I appreciated. However, it would’ve been appreciated if doors were key fobbed. For both guest amd front desk staff convenience. I stayed in a room with a bathroom. I wouldn’t want to share a bathroom, at my age. I didn’t check out the sauna, but thought it was cool that one is available. Hallways, common areas (like my room) were clean and housekeeping staff were very kind.

the location
The beds were 3ft high making it impossible to sit, one had to climb over. The bedding, while clean, was brown in colour and wrinkled. At 4AM the fire alarm started beeping intermittently, preventing us to sleep. With a beige walls and dated decor and furnishing, the experience was one of a roadside motel and not a $250/ night hotel. We were not compensated for our discomfort.

Competent and polite personnel, good location, particularly quiet room with excellent cool temperature coming from outside during the night, so no AC was necessary. V quiet. Slept very well. Excellent room service, always two new towels, very professional service.
The window was tiny and it is all carpet and elderly bed blankets. Also it was not possible to leave the water on in my sink, as it would always automatically turn off, which was a bit unusual. Costly, despite shared bathrooms.
3.9
Location was great. Very easy to walk places, plus very close to public transport
That there was only 1 bathroom on my floor for women. Only cleaned in the morning. In the late afternoon when I mentioned the dirty toilet, they didn't want to know. When I mentioned it the next day, I was told I could go to a different floor. Who wants to do that in the middle of the night.

Paying $350 a night for a room without A/C, tv bathroom and shower is unbelievable

Great location, right in downtown Vancouver; The hotel in itself was clean and the staff was nice and friendly
It's a very old hotel, rooms are very tiny and no air conditioning so it gets really hot in the summer. Definitely not worth the price and there's only 1 bathroom per floor.

The 3-11 staff member Simon was exceptionally helpful. I couldn’t get our television to work. Simon was so helpful that after the verbal suggestions he gave didn’t work, he actually took the time to come up to our room and fix the problem himself. I watched Simon give extremely helpful information to another customer that was seeking a specific item. Simon was able to tell him exactly which store to go to. My wife and I were interested in finding a reasonably priced and convenient way to get from the hotel to the airport. Simon was able to give very specific directions to the train station, and very specific instructions about the process for ticket purchases and routes. My whole experience with staying at this hotel was deeply enhanced by my interactions with Simon.
The female staff (I didn’t get her name) was not helpful in recommending options for activities and transportation to activities while we waited for the check in time to arrive. She seemed like she was either overwhelmed or possibly just had difficulty understanding that since this was our first time in Vancouver we wanted and needed help with information to make the most of our “short” time there. Very unhelpful interactions with her. The room did not have A/C, and it was a very hot day. Thank goodness we had a small fan to move some air around.

The prime location and the friendly staffs. Such a cozy place
No air conditioning!!! Even though in the spring and fall, you will never need it, but in a hot summer afternoon, you might still miss it

Staff were fantastic, room very basic and in need of refurbishment. Wasn’t unclean but because everything is old and in need up painting or updating it makes it feel like it could be a bit grimy. Location is good. Stayed in room with shared bathroom but multiple bathrooms not in order so not really acceptable.

Very good location, and it had a sauna (which I didn't get around to using)
Very expensive. Room was too hot to sleep in comfortably and the window opened to a noisy air conditioner unit (which someone must have enjoyed). No breakfast but a supermarket at the end of the road. Bed was not in good condition.
3.9
The location was excellent so convenient for a walk to the shops, waterfront, public transport and many other attractions.
The laundry was “out of order”, as was the ice machine. The rooms were a bit dated but spotlessly clean.
3.9
Very nice friendly staff, we had an emergency and they helped us dealing with it in a profesional and friendly manner

Very clean room.
I do want to have private bathroom. I prefer to have breakfast.

Really helpful staff
Nothing

The staff were nice the room was just adequate but for the price?
The bed was small as was the room and quite dark. It was advertised to have breakfast included but there was no breakfast.

The one staff member I met was really helpful.

Wonderful hotel with very friendly staff and free parking in a fantastic downtown location. Lots of different room arrangements. I had a very pleasant stay here.

Stayed here just to be close to the airport before our early morning flight, was pleasantly surprised by the hotel. It is very lovely and has a quiet and chilled vibe. The location is fantastic (definitely one of the nicer parts of Vancouver), and the staff were very friendly. We even ate at the restaurant next door (would recommend) and the front desk managed to get us a 15% off discount!
Nothing.
