Very relaxed. Feels much more quiet than expected while being so close to downtown. The staff are excellent and breakfast was super good. The private access to the Tiller Flat room was a very nice surprise.
Some of the amenities like TV need updating, but we didn't come stay here for the TV. Some small hardware and electrical issues should be addressed but had no impact on our visit.

Nice location provided walking opportunities around the city centre. Historical building with a lot of antique details inside. The room was spacious with everything we needed. The breakfast was good. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Breakfast and facilities excellent. Hosts very cordial.
I did not like the hosts/proprietors cadging for a tip! I tip in restaurants because staff works for minimum wage. The proprietors own the joint and are just begging for more money! In my instance, the tip amounted to $14.64, added. To total price, and it was keyed into the bill, so, after the hostess schmoozing you at breakfast, if you chose to bypass the tip, we’re that. Possible, you would stand there like a cheapskate! Very, very tacky!

Quiet B&B, although close enough to the city centre and harbourfront (10-15 minute walk). We had a very good size room with plenty of space. Decor is very nautical and quite original!
Breakfast is ok, although we had better when compared to other B&Bs in Nova Scotia.

The location is ideal, you can walk to central town where most restaurants and stores, interest points are located. We enjoyed the breakfast which was plentiful and great service. Jason was very informative and helpful to plan our day trips. He prepared an early breakfast as we had to take ferry to Pictou. We really appreciate his hospitality and warming welcome.

We had a great time! Our room was a mix of antique, beautiful, comfortable with a touch of modern and perfectly clean. The owners take care of every detail to make you feel like home. The English breakfast is delicious and served with elegance and love 👌❤️ Our arrival was late. There was no reception. However Jason the owner made some particular arrangements to let us in and guide us to our room. We gave ourselves a tour through the building which has history and magic in every single corner. Location is perfect for walking the downtown or driving to the main places.
We really love our stay there!
Thanks Jason and team!
To get into the island you have to show a prove of the COVID 19 immunization (two dosis) If you don’t have it, you won’t be able to pass the border. Good we had them.
When you leave the island, before crossing the confederation bridge, you will be required to pay CAD48.50
I would recommend to plant a garden that realces the beauty of the building!

Location. Historic setting. Good water pressure, lots of hot water.
Shipwright Inn has lots of potential but requires intensive staffing overhaul.
The breakfasts were truck stop DINER quality. Grilled cheese for breakfast one morning, Runny plain cheese omelet next. Tater tot potatoes. Low quality sausage links. Store bought mini muffins. Not even close to the quality of the other 3 B & B'so we stayed in.
The room bath tub had black mould on the caulking. Not acceptable standard for anywhere. Bathroom door wouldn't open fully because of warping. One roll of toilet only, no spare provided on second night, had to grab one out of storeroom because no one available to ask.
Jason the host, while polite and smiley was out of sight most of the time.
Grounds were unkempt, overgrown. Inadequate parking lot lighting.

The location is excellent and the bed and breakfast was spotlessly clean.
The staff were very friendly and helpful and the room was spacious as was the bathroom.
The flush in our bathroom was not working properly. we had to shut the water off from the supply or else the tank would overflow, then have to turn it back on each time , long enough for the tank to fill.
The outside air conditioning/ heat pump was so loud we could not sleep until it shut off.
The should be more choices for breakfast. Grilled cheese sandwich and tatet tots were not what we were expecting.

Breakfast was very good and filling. Staff were extremely friendly and top notch service.
Would definitely recommend to others & return ourselves
