Amazing property and so well maintained. The hosts are very kind and thoughtful, and the breakfast is incredible!

The location was great for first time visitors as we were close to many interesting sites
The breakfasts were delicious.
The hosts were very accommodating.
The home is beautiful and very well appointed.
Any future travelers should be aware that they will be climbing a lot of stairs as all rooms are up 20 steps.
Also, the walkway up to the building is quite steep too.

amazing breakfast and a very quaint house

The breakfast was very good and a bit innovative---personally I would prefer a conventional breakfast---eggs, ham, sausage toast etc--this is NOT a critique of the breakfast served, more of a comment on my personal preference
It would be nice if there were more flexibility in the check in time---when traveling it is not always easy to "time things" exactly---Having said this, I realize the issues today with help, or lack thereof, and the challenges of meeting the needs of the facility.

The breakfasts were delicious and innovative… it was obvious care was taken in preparation. We were able to walk to the downtown, restaurants and attractions.
It was a bit too cool in our room/bathroom.

Beautiful home and gourmet breakfasts. Very attentive hosts. Great location. Sherbrooke is gorgeous.
More expensive but the service was also higher end.

Beautiful house & garden. Room was very comfortable and quiet with private outdoor terrace attached. Breakfasts were exceptional - obviously a lot of effort put in!
Would have liked more conversation with our hosts, however we understand that may have been due to a language barrier

The owners of the property are extremely nice and kind people. Helped me in many different ways during my stay. And also breakfasts are to die for. If you are visiting Sherbrooke for some days I highly recommend Île de Garde :)

Nice old building ,private breakfast
Walking on a sheet of ice to get to the door. Standing outside in 17% with a cold wind waiting to be checked in. Then once inside being accused of not answering the e mail about covid vaccines.

classically beautiful and nostalgically...romantic
beauty of the surrounding gardens with falling leaves and squirrels, royally appointed breakfast rooms, luxury bedrooms, friendly and attentive to COVID-19 situation owners

The breakfast was fantastic! Like at Queens' reception!
We were kind of missing the TV, especially when the weather was not too inviting to go outside, but it is OK for a short time.

We stayed for 3 days. The breakfasts were amazing and creative. We looked forward to whatever creation she was going to serve each morning. Marie-Christine could be a chef or even publish her own cookbook. The property is a historic building with antique furniture and beautiful artwork throughout the home.
There isn't anything we didn't like. A television would have been nice to be able to catch up on the news. It's always good to know what's going on in the world, but we also realized that our stay was supposed to be a peaceful one.

This is a fascinating property with a really interesting history. At first the decor seems odd but once you learn the history of the house, it makes perfect sense and is very appropriate. This house is set in a lovely garden within easy walking distance to the main tourist area. A delicious breakfast was served on the patio.
Would have liked an earlier check in time.

We did not have as fresh, tasty and flavoured strawberries in at least 25 years. Both Marie Christine and Ive's attention to details were impeccable!

Upon arriving at the B&B we got a very long and uncomfortable lecture from the owner because we did not complete the covid questionnaire that was sent to us the previous day by email. As someone who is not glued to my cell phone, I did not see the email. A simple phonecall prior to our arrival to remind us would have been appreciated. This was an awful welcome to the place! Then she made us wash our hands in a basin bowl with a heavy pitcher filled with stagnant water that requires 2 people to pour out the water while she was watching us and not offering to help. I question the cleanliness of this ancient technique for hand washing. She and her spouse had disagreements in front of us making us feel uncomfortable. We asked if we could use the microwave to warm up some food and was told the kitchen was closed,(it was 7:30 pm) so we ate cold soup. The breakfast was very good but for the price paid for 1night I would have expected some warm food as well. The room was nice and actually the entire place was beautiful and very tastefully decorated however the we felt uncomfortable being there. If it wasn't for the wifes obnoxious behavior we would recommend this B and B.
