Nice-sized room
(1) Nothing went well - bathroom door did not/would not close. (2) Person who checked me in was brusque. (3) Person who checked me out was not helpful - asked me whether I wanted my receipt printed or emailed. When I asked for a printed receipt, she said it would take a "long" time. Very well, I said, just email it to me. I never received the email. I prepaid my hotel bill by several days. Person who checked me in asked me to present my credit card so he could put a $50 hold for "damages" which I gave him. The hold was not released for almost one week after I checked out. Overall, a BAD experience. (4) Although hotel was clean, there was a musty smell, possibly because the carpet doesn't get shampooed frequently enough.

Our room was beautiful and spacious with a view of the city. The hotel is in walking distance to the metro rail that can take you anywhere in the city to see all the sights. Very near several amazing restaurants that offer a wonderful menu but also check out the hotel restaurant and bar. It's a great find!

Amazing hotel, with great facilities, a very nice and spacious room with a great view, and great and friendly staff! I booked a room there because I had a conference at the Hilton hotel across the street and I thought that Churchill offered very competitive prices. I was so glad to choose Churchill for this reason. It's literally across the street from Hilton, has a great view, and nothing missing from the Hilton across the street. It's also in a great location to see Kalorama and Dupond Circle around. I loved the experience and would suggest this to anybody.
Even though for me the location was ideal because I wanted to be next to the Hilton conference, I believe that if someone wanted to be next to the main DC memorials, it would be a bit further away, so I'm just letting people know here. If you are aware of the location, then you won't be disappointed in the least from the rest!

We were welcomed by a very professional, informative gentleman at the front desk who made us feel welcome after a somewhat challenging trip to get to DC. After we unpacked, we were told by the same young man that it was not too late to have something to eat at the bar/restaurant. I took advantage of the offer and the bartender was gracious enough to stay after closing for me, despite it being his birthday. That told me a little bit more about the character of the employees.

Lage nah bei der 18th street mit vielen Restaurants und Bars. Metro 15 Min. entfernt. Schönes Bad.
Klimaanlage etwas laut, Verkehr teils etwas laut. Am 2. Tag kein Zimmerservice. Kaffee im Zimmer nicht trinkbar.

Excellent breakfast, spacious room, helpful and friendly staff, amazingly green neighbourhood with close proximity of ZOO.
I was on bussiness trip and I needed the invoice for my stay, however the hotel resisted to issue it because I prepaid the room to Booking.com. After about a week I got the invoice.

I did not like nothing about my stay.
The hotel has an odor, Huge Rats where running around the entry way and you had to dodge them to get into the hotel. The historic look of the rooms where tired and had no ambiance, I felt like I was going to wake up to the ghost of Christmas pass!!!! It was so bad once I moved my daughter into Howard, I hit the road 13hr drive and slept at a rest stop. Will never stay here again.

Staff were not professional and the shower was not ao good

Nice hotel in a great location. We had 3 large rooms on 8. floor. No view - but no noise either. Easy access to the city and major sigths. Plenty of restaurants close by. We took a guided walking tour in the area around the hotel - really an extraordinary and impressive neighborhood.

The hotel was within walking distance of the passport office which was why we were in town. Nice restaurants close by however the hotel didn't serve lunch or dinner during our stay. The room was very spacious for a family of 4.

Nice building and location. Friendly staff.
The 1st full day no-one came to clean the room and tag on the door handle was ignored all day. Pipe under the sink was leaking. Reported to the front desk. No-one came to fix it. At the end of the day came to the front desk to report again. Engineer came twice to fix it, but leak was still not fixed...

Beautiful building but it does mean it's old. Large room. Nice shower. Lots of storage. Massive TV. 5-10 minutes walk to Dupont Circle with lots of cafes and restaurants. 20 min walk to the free zoo. Quite a long walk to the main area of Washington DC so would recommend using the bus. Iced, fruit-infused water available in lobby.
We were asked to pay a Preservation Fee upon checkout, which wasn't advertised at the time of booking. After asking to speak personally to a manager, we were told that was a new fee and that since we booked before it came in, we didn't need to pay it. The main window was broken and hanging open when we came in the room. We could close it but we weren't able to slide it open. Leaving it hanging seemed like it would fall off and break. No soundproofing - we could near street noise as well as sounds from rooms next to us (toilet flushing, bed creaking, etc) though that's pretty normal in all hotels. No breakfast provided but cafe in hotel next door (cafe integral) had good coffee and food.

The bed was so comfortable and heavenly. The staff tended to our every need. The room even had a steamer which I used for my formal dress. lifesaver!!
The parking cost was high but very normal for DC. Loved the valet staff though, so accommodating!!!

Location is really fantastic by walking to the diplomatic areas such as official task in the embassy, taking a walk surrounding area as well. In addition, the staffs were so generous and well-mannered to provide enough help and support. The room has enough space such as dividing the space with a bedroom and toilet by having each doors which was one of the grateful thoughts for the customer care. Also nearby bus stop and the metro station as a walking distance is a plus initiative.

The location is perfect. Very close to attractions.
No parking, staff was poor. Apparently the reservation included breakfast, we were never told. One of the rooms had no closet. The bathroom door didn’t close completely. The hotel was under construction, I should have know it before booking.
