Didn’t have breakfast…would like to have had a menu or at least the hours and something about the restaurant in my room.
Receptionist on desk when I arrived was most helpful in choosing a room best suited to my needs( I’m a senior, use a cane)
Bed was comfortable, shower was hot, room temperature easily adjusted, quiet…
Walls could use a bit of fresh paint.
Info about the restaurant.

Good
Only after we confirmed the booking (very late short notice in emergency) we were informed by the hotel, that there is construction going on in the neighborhood with quite some noise starting at 7 AM in the morning.
We would have appreciated if booking.com would have shown that upfront before we did the booking .

The room was big and nice. The beds were soft and clean. The staff were very nice and accommodating.
Everything was great.

Nice location and very very comfortable bed!
Our room had an awful smell to it that made it hard to stand almost. But due to paying for the room we were not going to leave. It also mentioned on the website that no credit card was going to be held but it was indeed required to put down a damage during check in.

location is easy to get in and out from the island highway. my truck fits in the underground parking. rooms are typical for the price range.
the coffee in the rooms is not great but it rarely is anywhere.
2.5
Location was good and central to where we needed.
Very run down and is in need of a refresh. The room had a strong musty door. The floor was uneven with large dips which was unsafe to walk on.

location
very tired and dated

Location worked well for me as it's just up from the island highway. I came in late in the evening and left early the next morning so I didn't get to try any of the hotel amenities but the hotel looked very nice. The rooms and decor were a little dated but everything was clean and functional.
2 little things. The room was very warm when I arrived. There is an air conditioner / heater in the room, but the air con didn't work (maybe because outside temp was too low?). I just opened the windows to cool the room and given the hotel location, it wasn't too loud to sleep. The other issue was that I requested a thin pillow as I have a bothersome neck. I received a message from the hotel saying - "we'll try...". Upon arrival it was clear that no one tried. The room was made up with the usual overstuffed pillows. I used a bath towel which wasn't overly comfortable.

Great hotel in a very nice area of Nanaimo. Close to shopping and food.
The jacuzzi jets in the tub were dirty, so I couldn't give my child a bath, but other than that the room was very clean.
4.0
The hotel is homey and comfortable but the dining room and bar are only open on certain nights.
Pillows are poor. Wish the dining room was open every day

Very reasonably priced
It would be nice if all the vending machines were working and one didn’t have to go to the front desk to ask for ice
3.0
Very quiet which was nice. In a great location in Nanaimo close to lots of amenities and stores.
Didn’t really enjoy the atmosphere of the building as it was kind of old, can’t complain about that. The cleanliness could be way better especially with the sheets and bed. Only stayed barely a night and payed way too much, but it was a last minute booking.
