I liked to be on top of Snob hill !
Very nice staff everywhere.
I’d like to return. I wasn’t too impressed with the breakfast - the bacon was sloppy and afterwards I was told that I should have asked for crispy!!
Information about menus like breakfast.
I had a delicious advocate toast with a taste of lemon - by chance!

Only location
No internet and restaurant options are looking less and too expensive

I liked how it was perfectly located for me to travel almost everywhere I wanted to go by foot. Close to the city, but also close to the wharf and north beach. Beautiful, old historic building with a tonne of character.
I think lots of the space in the hotel was wasted. For example, I’ve never stayed in such a flash hotel that didn’t have a buffet breakfast. So much space in their dining area but no one is using it. You could get a coffee and a croissant from the cirque cafe, but this didn’t keep you full for long. I was averaging walking 25, 000 steps a day and no food in the morning was a bit weird. I usually like to eat a big breakfast when travelling so that I can be fuelled for the day and then go out for dinner. No cafes or restaurants really close by, so I think it was a waste that the restaurant wasn’t that inviting. I also think there should have been bottled water in the room at the very least without such a hefty charge for Evian water.

Wonderful location, classic rooms
Rooms (and hotel in general) looks a little bit dated

service de chambre horrible

The hotel is situated in an excellent area, and its building is beautifully constructed.
The room was old and had an unpleasant smell ( I think because a lot of dogs ) . Additionally, they did not provide toothbrushes. However, the most disappointing aspect was the breakfast. We decided to order avocado toast, but it took more than an hour to be served. When it finally arrived, it was not enjoyable. Similarly, during the evening, I ordered a Panacotta for dessert. Unfortunately, it was frozen and appeared to have been made days ago. When we approached the waiter about it, he was extremely rude and seemed quite stressed. Moreover, there were dogs everywhere, and the smell hit us the moment we entered the establishment.

It was clean and the staff were nice.
The hallway smelled like pot.

The holiday spirit in the hotel
The old elevators

Beautiful classic hotel, all decked out for Christmas
Very popular so lobby could be too crowded.

Classy hotel, great location

Property was nice and fancy but
we had an issue with toilet which wasn’t a big deal in reality it is for the price I paid. Found someone’s pubic hair or armpits hair on toilet and in bath tub as well. Kinda ruined it for me being I spent 900$ on something where I’ve had cleaner for 150$ a night but. Oh well my first time with you guys years back was better… I didn’t complain to reception because I hate to complain but the stay was most definitely not worth the price paid.

Struttura di grande charme e fascino. L’età non pesa troppo
Necessari adeguamenti tecnologici.

Location
Needs renovating. Very tired and dated. Chair in room was disgraceful. Fit only for the dustbin. Shameful.

The atrium and lobby area are amazing, as is the external architecture of the building.
Staff were also very helpful in changing our room from the one initially allocated to one that matched the booking details.
Decor away from the atrium is tired and shows signs of wear. In our room, the handle of the minibar cupboard came away and the bedside reading lamp was not attached to the mounting.
In the bathroom, some of the wallpaper was peeling off and the furniture in the room was worn.
The bar area was depressingly neglected. Low quality lighting, no heating and tatty menus with a very limited range of food.
Really disappointing experience considering this hotel was slightly more expensive than a recent stay at the nearby Ritz Carlton.
4.1
Our room was spacious and good closet space.
There was good lighting where we could select different brightness.
I would like a refrigerator to place some of my own goods. Not one full of items I don't prefer and would not buy.
Shower curtain was too short. Had to be careful it did not flip to the outside of the tub.
Toilet handle hit the lid inside what flushed. Made loud noise especially at night.

Excellent customer service, hotel history, stunning City views, great food and drink, central and safe location and dog friendly!

The property has such a great location, but it is on top of a hill so if walking you must be ready for it. One side leads to North Beach the other Union Square and then to the Financial district. Perfect for us.

Hotel with a deep history located in the heart of San Francisco
They allow animals inside
They charge extra money for Wi-Fi. When I arrived there were lgbt flags all over the place. They also organized parties for some freaks which was insane
4.1
Great view from upgraded (paid upgrade) room in tower.
Worn out desk chair, dirty basin with green slime seen growing in the overflow area, simply not as expected from a 5 star hotel
4.1
I like the location and installations.
I needed to walk a long distance to get to my room.

people smoking dope in the garden
Biden being there !!
4.1
not much to be honest
probably wouldn’t get 4 star rating in another country. exorbitant prices, for example , no water in the rooms , and to have some bought was just to over priced. colleagues room had mild in it. my room had ripped chairs and the door security lock broke . no coffee etc in room. feels like owners have given up, and trying to extract as much cash as possible …

it looks nice !
The property still looks very good

Poor customer service. Rude and lacked basic courtesies and honesty.

So many things to like! So historic, romantic, grand, and with an enchanting atmosphere. The public rooms are magnificent, relaxing, welcoming, with marvelous and very interesting decoration. The Tonga Room is a must see!
Our room was spacious, with big windows, very clean, with an extremely comfortable bed! great toiletries, minibar, coffee maker, etc.
very very helpful staff.
Will return !
