35 bucks „destination“ fee per day (plus tax) for … what was that destination again?

Location and oh so dated vibes (I am hopeless).

Ah well, lots of nothing (service, help, cleanliness, stuff an actual hotel would be expected to provide) in an environment painted dark, furnished with things found in an imaginary college yard sale. Like, you know, so like cool.

Lage prima, aber zu teuer für zu wenig Komfort.

Die Lage ist das Beste am Hotel - U-Bahn eine Häuserecke weiter. Und überhaupt ist di Gegend gut, voller Restos, Cafés und Geschäften.

Das Schiebefenster im Zimmer ist ein Witz. Es hält keinen Lärm ab. Ganztags dröhnt eine Klimaanlage vom Hausdach gegenüber. Das Zimmer selbst ist eng, man muss akrobatische Verrenkungen machen, um auf die andere Seite des Bettes und ans Fenster zu kommen. Der - an sich erfreuliche - Schreibtisch wird zur Hälfte von einem Kasten mit (teuren) Snacks besetzt. Als Gast will man aber nicht andauernd zum Kaufen angehalten werden. Die Lobby ist ein dunkles, lautes Loch, nichts, das einen zum Hinsetzen anregt. Insgesamt war der Übernachtungspreis sehr hoch, das mag an dem speziellen Wochenende gelegen haben.Auf jeden Fall zu hoch.

Always a delight to be a part of the ACE Hotel scene

Provide me with an upgrade -- what more can you say. Hotels location is excellent and the amenities of restaurants and pubic transportation near by is satisfying. There is also open space for public sitting that makes you feel like your not in the city. Shower water pressure phenomenal

Just one small issue with a lighting fixture in bathroom towards the end of my stay. I left before it was resolved. The bathroom sink lighting could be improved - more directional for things like shaving and grooming. The rooms are meant to be unique and many of the fixtures and decor make you feel like you're not in a standard hotel, but someone's guest room -- so I guess its a tradeoff.

Ace is the place

The hotel has a retro charm with really cool artwork comfy bed room service wet bar and was centrally located to everywhere I wanted to go they will hail a cab for you if you need one been there many times and now my go to place

The hotel was cool years ago, but not anymore

Historic hotel, kind of cool design

1) the room was not very clean, dust around the windows, my bf has asthma and he didn’t feel well 2) the stuff was not accurate and polite: we broke a sanitiser in a corridor of a hotel and informed the receptionist asking to include it in a bill. Later on a new person at reception blocked our room keys and didn’t let us in, as his previous colleague didn’t let him know that we came to pay for the broken sanitiser In the corridor. The new keys he gave didn’t work either. It was terrible.

Fantastische kamer met geweldig uitzicht

We hadden echt de mooiste kamer, heel ruim en een prachtig uitzicht op het Empire State Building. De inrichting en indeling was ook prima. We hoorden geen buren oid. De locatie is geweldig. Beneden zit Stumptown, daar serveren ze heerlijke koffie.

De prijzen van de minibar vond ik, zelfs voor new york begrippen, erg hoog. Drie dollar voor een theezakje. Maar goed, daar hoef je natuurlijk geen gebruik van te maken. De airco maakte veel geluid. Oordoppen zijn sowieso een goed idee als je met het raam open wilt slapen. Dus veel laat hadden we er niet van.

The experience at the hotel really made our holiday even more enjoyable and memorable

Had a spacious room with two double beds facing Empire State Building Walkable to most of the attractions we wanted to visit Housekeeping was excellent. All staff were friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again .

Disappointing for the jacked up price! Dated & out of order!

Location and restaurants! Great food and staff!

Room dated and refrigerator clunky. No Smeg! Barely fit anything… Did I mention room severally dated and for what we paid! Disappointing! Ice machine down hall out of order. Bathroom in lobby one of them out of order. This was my go to hotel.

Disappointed

It was walking distance to Penn Station.

The teeny tiny room, considering the price I paid. It was unbelievably too small for two people and even the bed was extremely small...very uncomfortable.

Ok but unacceptable environment in the communal hotel space, meant you had to keep to your bedroom. And pay extortionate

Location, staff size of bedroom.

There was no space to relax in the shared space for hotel guests - always packed full of non-guests. Very strange set up, appalling price tags for tea bags and water in the room!! Bathroom so cold and window don’t close or lock properly.

Definitely would recommend this place

Everything- close to 28th street subway, short walk to 34th street subway. Excellent staff.

I can’t say anything negative about the property except it did not have air conditioner in winter.

Good location but overpriced for quality and size of room

The location was good and lobby was quite cool (excl the bathrooms which were not very nice in the lobby)

The room was very small with no place to put a bag. The room felt like a college dorm room and everything felt tired. The style was cool but did not feel quality. We have stayed in better quality rooms at a better price and would not stay here again.

It was extremely dark, both in the bar and in our room. No daylight at all and poor lighting made the room inhospitable during the day. Also very hot and hard to tuen heating down. We ended up turning it off and opening windows which was surprising given it was December

A funky, personal living experience.

Location was superb -- lots of restaurants of a variety of price and meal options. Coffee bar in lobby and hotel bar terrific. Anthony, the bartender was very accommodating. And helpful with eating tips. The lobby was definitely a gathering place for colleagues and others to meet. Amble spaces to park yourself. Room was funky and unique, with lots of room to spread out and desk to work on. Bathroom was old style

Lack of electrical outlets for computer/phone, etc rechargers. bedside table outlet plug did not work. There was no place to plug in my computer on the desk, all outlets nearby occupied with lights, and stereo equipment. The basement gym could use a couple of new bikes for cardio

Friendly staff. Great facilities. Perfect location.

Beds were super comfy. The size of the room was perfect for a group. The staff were friendly and welcoming.

The heating in the room was poor. We did ask reception to send someone up. When we got back to the room it was a little warmer however for the next two days it went back to being poor

Very disappointed and wouldn’t come back.

I liked the vibe and style it was going for. The front desk staff were amazing. The view was the saving grace.

The hallways lacked any style. They were so dark and creepy it was like from a horror movie. The rug is outdated and dirty. The rooms are bleak. The bathroom glasses were placed on rusty chipped ledge faced down so no one could drink from them. Shower was very strange set up. Way to expensive for the experience provided. No sound proofing. I hardly slept because it felt like I might as well have been sleeping outside.

L’emplacement et la taille de la chambre pour New York. Le ménage quotidien.

La salle de bain: baignoire et rideau de douche, tuyauterie vétuste qui fait beaucoup de bruit, pas d’eau chaude un soir…. Et la lumière de la salle de bain qui s’éteignait systématiquement au bout de quelques minutes quand on était sous la douche!! Les serviettes sont changées tous les jours alors que l’on ne le demande pas ….pas très écolo! Pas de tablettes rangement pour poser sa trousse de toilette. Seulement 2 peignoirs pour une chambre de 4 personnes.

Cool little hotel, dark and lively - just what you expect from midtown NY. Staff really nice, great location, good coffee, no noise, comfortable beds too.

Some noise in the corridor when sleeping but that’s guests not the hotel. Also watch out for the taxes added, the fee listed isn’t what you’ll pay! There’s city tax, destination tax and tax for tax 😂

Not what it was.

The water in my room wasn’t hot and despite complaining it wasn’t fixed satisfactorily. The room service food was very poor quality for the price.
